This is a little samurai named Jujy. He excelled at the art of the samurai at the age of three but when he was exploring the forests of Japan during the feudal era of Japan. He spots a demon in which he defeats easily with a slice from his katana.
The demon says "You have defeated me so I will grant you the ability to use Magi."

I can see the samuri part but there is very little
that lends to the magi aspect you were hoping for,
