It was from a broken heart that the Sorceress called upon magic to torment the man she loved. If only he had returned her love she would not have felt compelled to punish him. Her love for him drove her insane until the words spilled from her lips:

All that mattered was that she loved him and for that he must pay.

I like it though the description and the avatar have something of a disconnect - you describe a malevolent figure, but I read nothing evil in the presented avatar.
