Dave's Campaign: C. 8, Pt. 1
-
I've finally incited reinforcements from one of the null chambers thanks to Sarah Valentine. Now, ten days have passed since I've completed Radnor's task while he was out in the battlefront. I'm already doing some military training with Soren and Baruch as well as going over some battle strategies with Soren, but we later receive word from Barerra that we are to meet Radnor out in the battlefield ASAP.
[I've just finished military training with my clan as well as other men some of my friends reinforced from the null chambers]
Soren Whisperwind: Alright, people! We'll stop for now! Let's continue this tomorrow!
[everyone is now taking a break...]
Baruch van Austins: That was some very good sparring, Dave.
Me: Thanks. It was worth it.
Baruch van Austins: I wonder when we'll leave?
Me: No clue. But at least our soldiers should be ready for combat.
Baruch van Austins: Yep. I wanna go back to that town where we met Noriko and Megumi. You know.... retake it.
Me: Findley and his men are still in that location. I hope they're alright.
Baruch van Austins: So what are you going to do, now?
Me: I'm going over some battle strategies with Soren for a bit. He has plans just in case we have a lucky chance of leaving for a while. You can join if you want.
Baruch van Austins: Sure. smile
[the two of us head into a large tent with Soren, Shinon, and a lance knight known as Gary Boyd, an old friend of Shinon. We even meet one of my best clan members, Jonathan Streep]
Soren Whisperwind: Ready to go over some plans?
Me: Sure.
Soren Whisperwind: Alright.... [pulls out large map showing a forest] We should set off an invasion somewhere here. As soon as we meet and team up with the Dawn of Asia, we can first settle camp there while we prepare some funds to muster our troops. The undead forces may have settled here since they've controlled a large number of hosts consisting of lawn gnomes, kokeshi dolls, and cherry fluffs. Even some small outposts of ghouls have been constructed in several points of this battle site in which the undead legion has settled.
Shinon Stormrage: Should we attack in the daytime... or nighttime?
Soren Whisperwind: I've heard that the undead legions can increase in strength and multiply in numbers at night, so it's recommended that we quickly fight in broad daylight while they're still trying to fund themselves for their armies.
Gary Boyd: How about we divide ourselves in groups?
Shinon Stormrage: How?
Gary Boyd: Well, you and I and our brethren can try to weaken the undead defenses by sea. If they ever jump on, we can fend them off.
Shinon Stormrage: Hmmm.... sounds like a great idea.
Gary Boyd: Yep, especially that one time when we were fighting harpies while conducting trades with the Dawn of Asia.
Jonathan Streep: I've traveled with Gaian merchants before helping them conducting trades. I've heard that disrupting the undead trades in the seas can weaken some parts of their defenses at a slow process, preventing them from reinforcing more men.
Gary Boyd: Soren, how about you leave the seas to me and Shinon? Once we cut off all undead forces and trade activities in some areas of the sea, we can supply you and your friends with as much reinforcements as possible and even with as much equipment as needed.
Baruch van Austins: Then I'll go with Soren.
Soren Whisperwind: Thank you, Baruch. [to Gary] That sounds like an excellent plan, Gary.
Me: Then what are you and Baruch going to do while Shinon and Gary launch an attack in the seas?
Soren Whisperwind: I can try to provide Baruch some cover fire while he finds a way to infiltrate every outpost in the battlefield and immediately shut down their defenses. Once their defenses are cut off, me and my brethren will storm the outposts by force and have the entire area secured. My job is to try and flank a certain path where the undead will not incite more men to try and drive us out. They must have some kind of weak spot in the battlefield.
Jonathan Streep: Well, what about me and Dave?
Soren Whisperwind: The Dawn of Asia are also constructing outposts throughout the forest. Try to see if you can defend their bases long enough to hold off the undead assaults. Me and Baruch will try to sneak from the rear. We can try to provide some more troops and supplies for you guys, but in the meantime, I need both of you to defend some interior areas of any battle sites Baruch and I construct in the future.
Me: Will the Dawn of Asia help us?
Soren Whisperwind: It'll take a while. Our goal is to surround the entire undead legion army and weaken their defenses long enough while preventing them from attacking the Dawn of Asia. We have to give them time to unleash their greatest attack on them. All we need is some strength to perform our flanks and different types of troops to storm at different parts of the battlefield. And we ARE going to divide ourselves in three groups. Baruch will come with me. The rest will be Shinon and Gary and Dave and John.
Me: Sounds like a plan.
Jonathan Streep: I'm in for it.
Baruch van Austins: I'm ready for this.
[Captain Antonio Barerra comes in]
Captain Antonio Barerra: Guys, I just received word from James Radnor.
Gary Boyd: What is it?
Captain Antonio Barerra: He requests that all of you are to come to the battlefield with him at once. He has planned a meeting with you all. Bring your forces if necessary. [he departs]
Shinon Stormrage: Sounds like Radnor needs us.
Soren Whisperwind: Well, let's gather up our men. I'll explain more details for our battle plans later. Let's go!
[all of us begin to gather up our clan warriors and brethren and friends and we departed to meet James Radnor in the battle field]
