broken memories

time is a thief of all i hold dear,
stealing my memories in only a year

i know that i love her and thats still the same
but when i look at her picture i see only the frame

i remember the words but i cant hear the voice
i cry cause these memories are not gone by choice

in my memories i search for her beautifull eyes
when i cant find them a part of me dies

memories so dear to me are slipping away
like knowing the hour but forgetting the day

though i am fighting, her outline grows dim
the album is fading that her memories in

on the day that she left i knelt down to cry
but with each fading memory my heart starts to die

i love this poem but i can't relate to it
it seems ,as though, we are opposites; u don't want to forget but you can't help that you do, and all i want is to forget but the memories keep me up at night and haunt my dreams so that i can never forget
