The Guardians are known as the most powerful and influential beings in Prim. There usually exists one guardian per nation until a guardian dies (if the guardian can die). The guardian of Jego (the most wicked nation in Prim) sought to put Jego over all other nations. The problem with simply conquering the higher nations is their close alliances. Gwindle (the most powerful army at the time) was allied with Faerie (the purest nation) and Korbb (the Fire nation ruled by the Phoenix).

The guardian of Jego made a deal with the Dragons of Orion. He would send his armies into Orion to help the Dragons overthrow their Human masters, if following their rise to power they would support Jego in a war against Gwindle. This guardian also made a deal with the master of the Ring of Evil from Sirius; if the master would slay the guardian of Lutetia and Sirius and replace him, the master could lead the islands to war against Faerie. Jego would support Lutetia and Sirius, and after laying waste to Faerie, the islands could take its riches for themselves. The darkest secret however, was Jego's hidden alliance with the Demons of Korbb. The Demon king had lost to the Phoenix centuries before, and so lost rule of Korbb. The Demon King was thought to be dead, but the guardian of Jego knew otherwise and at the right moment the Demons arose in Korbb during the Great War, and the Phoenix was overthrown and destroyed.

The results of the Great War; Jego yields the most powerful nation in the world, Gwindle is crippled and the guardian slain, Larimar is still a nation of thieves, uninvolved in the affairs of other nations, Faerie is a pile of ash, Orion is ruled by Dragons, Korbb is ruled by Demons, Lutetia and Sirius is as naughty as ever, and only Death rules supreme in Prim.
