Let's see...I'm 19, straight, and I really don't have a preferred nickname.

I joined this guild largely because I grew up in a very close-minded area whose response to most anything outside of their narrow views was seething anger(among them was my male parent, I don't call him "dad" anymore due to a long list of reasons) so I really never heard much about anything outside a very strict set of views.

So here I am to broaden my views by tossing myself in the middle of a community that was largely invisible to me, both to learn and as a big "f you" to my home town.

Also, I wrote this running on four hours sleep, so it may be a bit of a babbling mess. If so, I apologize.

I know how you feel both my parents are still very strict and closed minded, plus they are almost in their 60's so they are very old fashioned as well. But I'm happy and I'm sure everyone else is too, to see you learning about the gay community!

My mom's pretty open minded, but that doesn't change the fact that I live in a southern Bible-belt area. Sadly, I won't be learning much about the gay community for a couple weeks still. Finals are approaching, so I shall soon be rushing about screaming like a lunatic and hoping everything gets done on time.

I'm straight married with 4 kids. heart I was very lucky my mom raised me to judge people for who they are on the inside not what they are on the outside.
