I have some of those older books like Dracula, Sherlock Holmes, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, etc. on my iTouch. The screen isn't as small, so it doesn't hurt my eyes as much, and I can read at night without disturbing my parents (they can't sleep when my light's on...they worry, I guess, that I'm having trouble sleeping or something) because of the backlight. And it is easier and a lot lighter for travel if you have a Kindle or iTouch with eBooks on them. I remember going on vacation while I was reading the 5th HP book, and, as a lot of you know, that book is really big, and it barely fit in my bag with everything else that was in it. A Kindle or iTouch is a lot more compact and definitely easier to travel with.
Although I have to admit, staring at a computer screen for hours does hurt my eyes and give me a headache. I downloaded some books for free from manybooks.net and they're saved as PDF files on my computer, but to read them, I have to make sure that I take periodic breaks so I don't get a headache. That gets annoying. But I do like the fact that they save space, paper, and light (seeing as you only need the backlight, not a whole lamp).
I do think, though, with all the technology that's coming out now, probably our grandkids will all be reading on the computer. I think I can pretty much guarantee that. But at least we'll be little old men and women that can only read fairy tales to our thousands of grandkids smile .

CasandraM musing_maiden CasandraM I read manga online, but that's about it. I find reading of a computer screen to be uncomfortable. You just can't curl up on the settee with a laptop like you can with a book. But you *can* curl up with a Kindle. 3nodding I don't think they sell Kindle's in Europe...
Do you not have access to amazon.com?
