Originally I was going to watch the new season of Doctor Who while pet-sitting but it looks like it's not available for free through Amazon Prime yet. So, I'm re-watching Eccleston's era, which is fine since I've been meaning to re-watch it again. Especially since I just got to meet Eccleston and Piper in person yesterday. biggrin

I had a great time at RCCC. Thankfully everything worked out in my favor, even with some delays for the start of autographs and photo-ops. I even got to attend both of the fandom meet-up/photoshoots I wanted to see - Critical Role and Good Omens. Lots of amazing cosplayers I ran across too.

One thing about attending the Good Omens meet-up though was that it made me wish I could've cosplayed as my Crowley for it. My friend looked amazing - and adorable - in her Aziraphale cosplay. And if I had brought my Crowley, it would've represented another era of Crowley's looks. There was Eden, 60s, and multiple modern versions of Crowley at our humble little meet-up.

I was lucky at the Critical Role photoshoot. There was another cosplayer there dressed as the Wildmother, so I was able to get a shot of my D&D character Shanairra with her deity. heart

It's fun bringing your own character to life but when it comes to photoshoots, it can be a bit lonesome if you're the only OC among the group. I was just lucky enough to ask the Wildmother cosplayer if I could get a picture with her and one of my Critter friends (who was playing photographer) was willing to take photos of us together. biggrin

One of my favorite unexpected moments from RCCC was that Zachary Levi fist-bumped me before we positioned ourselves for the photo-op I was getting. That was awesome! Such a nice guy.

I didn't realize how tall Eccleston was. For some reason, I thought he was going to be like average height (read: same height or shorter). Turns out he's just a few inches taller than me ((and as my friend pointed out, the same height as Misha Collins)). Guess when I've seen Tennant and Smith, they always come off as being taller than Eccleston... when in reality, they're all the same height basically. xd

After hearing Eccleston talk about how things ended with him on Doctor Who and with BBC, I feel bad for him. Not just because they ended his time as the Doctor so abruptly but because they essentially blacklisted him for quite some time with the false statements they spread about him. Thank goodness he's able to do work again now.
He states he was approached for the special Doctor Who celebration episode (the one where Smith and Tennant's doctors cross paths). He said he ended up turning the opportunity down because he didn't feel that the Ninth Doctor would fit the atmosphere of the script and after the creation of the War Doctor, he was content with his decision. Plus there was still some lingering feelings about how BBC treated him.

And of course, I've got to give a shout out to Wil Wheaton. Such a lovely guy. We didn't talk much during the autograph session; sort of expected when you get two semi-introverted geeks together, haha. sweatdrop I enjoyed hearing him talk with other guests as the line moved along.
