Sorry to hear about this. I am also from a small town, but I like it better than the city for sure. Have you tried going to a gaybar or club? There are usually TONS of guys looking to socialize with just about anyone, though you gotta be weary of the ones only looking for a hookup.

Oh my bad I forgot about the 16 part. sad Eh I would say best to wait until you're 21 for those things anyways, more fun. I did and it was awesome first time going. Try looking for events near you on facebook, I know there are a lot of groups dedicated to gay men and social activities like mixers and stuff.
