"That's enough!" Vanitas eventually broke free from the continuing volley of attacks from Fenrir and Bahamut by creating a doppelganger of himself and then teleporting away to take a swing at Crystal with his Void Gear. Unfortunately for Vanitas, Crystal saw him coming and swung at him hard with the Metal Chocobo producing the same sound one would hear from a successful homerun swing as it impacted with Vanitas to launch him back into the air where he would be sniped by yet another Mega Flare from Bahamut to begin the volleying cycle over again all the while yelling in anguished surprise, "What the hell is going on?!"

This time he managed to make his doppelganger teleport escape more quickly, but instead of going after Crystal directly he instead sheered off several feet of stone from one of the nearby columns that stood around the canyon causing it to fall toward Crystal instead. "It's been fun, but good luck getting out of this one..." he trailed off as he heard a sudden explosion when the slab of stone was about to impact with Crystal.

"Bakusai Tenketsu!" Crystal had dismissed the Metal Chocobo so that she could slam her index finger into the incoming slab of stone falling toward her causing it to explode into harmless chunks that scattered away from her position as she employed the breaking point technique to make it shatter.

"No, seriously, what the hell are you?" Vanitas demanded. Crystal's actions were vaguely amusing at first, but now she was pissing him off. "Why won't you just die already!"

He then swooped down attempting to take another swing at Crystal. She quickly materialized the Metal Chocobo again while lining up her arm to toss it at Vanitas in another Strike Raid. Her aim was a little bit off so Vanitas didn't even have to dodge, but his eyes widened in surprise again as a bright glow of energy seemed to surround Crystal as he got closer to her.

"Shishi Hokodan!" Crystal called out as she blasted Vanitas skyward again on a heavy blast of chi. His ascent ended somewhat abruptly as the Metal Chocobo completed its arcing trajectory and came back around to smack him in the back before returning to Crystal's hand. Vanitas crashed into the ground forming a small crater in the rough terrain practically seething at this point.

"Fine, I'm through going easy on you!" Vanitas growled mildly as his growing frustration caused countless Unversed of various types to spawn around him, rapidly burying Crystal beneath their sheer numbers. While Crystal was now having to work to beat off the Unversed that Vanitas had summoned, Vanitas himself would teleport away to strike down Bahamut since that summon in particular was extremely annoying to keep getting blasted by.

Fenrir rushed in to start knocking away the Unversed that had surrounded Crystal, but there were just too many of them. They had her pinned to the ground and it looked like Vanitas was going to dive down to deliver the killing blow.

"We're not going to make it in time!" Scythe called out in obvious concern as he urged the draconic wolf-like beast onward. Fenrir whined and howled in anguish unable to progress any faster with so many Unversed blocking the way ahead.

Crystal wasn't giving up though and was trying to think her way out of her predicament when she felt a strange pulse from the Two Become One and the Unversed were suddenly being cut down by a group of about a dozen or so Samurai Nobodies. Crystal then used the opening they had created to blast Vanitas away again by reflexively dual casting Holy on him.

"We'll take it from here milady," Crystal heard the voice of one of the Samurai Nobodies in her mind and nodded in surprise. After all, this was the first time she'd ever heard one of them speak.

"Thanks for saving me," Crystal quickly expressed her gratitude before going into motion again and striking down any Unversed that blocked her path with powerful swings of both Two Become One and the Metal Chocobo. She still had to find Master Shiva's old Keyblade and fighting with Vanitas and the Unversed was only distracting her from that goal. And I'll have to thank Roxas too. He really saved me this time, Crystal thought as she looked around to see if she could at least spot the particular Keyblade she was searching for. "It has such a distinct shape, you'd think it would stand out more," Crystal muttered as she hastened her search while Vanitas was still momentarily stunned from being blasted with Holy magic.

User ImageRoxas, Xion, Phil, and Hercules were all in awe of Shiro's Reality Marble, but more-so the hundreds of weapons suspended in the air as Shiro and Gilgamesh sized each other up. Phil's jaw pretty much dropped to the ground while Hercules nearly tripped over his own two feet as he stared up and up at all the blades.

"Woah!" Roxas and Xion both flailed as Hercules stumbled. "Hey, would you mind trying not to drop us?!"

"Whoops, sorry about that," Hercules managed to regain his footing as he tried to calm his excitement. "But you've got to admit, this looks like it's going to be an amazing battle!"

"It looks to me like Shiro isn't holding anything back this time," Roxas nodded vaguely. It was the first time he was seeing how Shiro could actually wield so many weapons all at once.

"I don't think this Gilgamesh guy is holding anything back either though," noted Xion.

"These guys are in a whole different kind of league of their own," Phil most definitely had to agree just by feeling all that raw power permeating through the area.

Roxas and Xion would nod in agreement while Hercules was trying to contain how fired up seeing Shiro and Gilgamesh go at it was making him for the next tournament. Roxas was briefly distracted, however, when he thought he heard Crystal's voice somewhere nearby, but being as no one else seemed to notice and the fact that he was still obviously exhausted and probably more than a little delirious he thought maybe he might have imagined it.

Shiro would fling his hand out once more, firing the weapons just as Gilgamesh had done so in firing his gate's contents, the clanging and explosions of weapons hitting each other in shock-waves could be seen as Gilgamesh would be charging along the plains, Shiro following not too far behind as they begun clashing with sword strikes from their held weapons, not giving each other an inch as they continued clashing, it was clear that while Gilgamesh was without a doubt the King of Heroes, the Infinite Blade known as Shiro was keeping up the pressure as they fought, sword to sword, gate to Reality Marble "che... just because you can counter my gate doesn't mean you've won yet, Mongrel!" Shiro gave off a snort, and clashed two more times, passing by a nearby pedestal as he picked up the sword from it, just as Gilgamesh grabbed a sword from the gate, and both of them clashing now with Twin Swords in hand "the battle has only just begun, Gilgamesh!" he said, , disarming the King of heroes's weapons, who had sent them back to the gate to unleash a new volley of contents to kick up an explosion, of course, when the smoke cleared, Shiro was not there, in fact, he had snuck around behind Gil, and picked up a certain red spear as he took it's familiar stance, letting himself immerse into the vision of the spirit, his hair turning a dark blue and gaining a small rat-tail, as well as his eyes switching from prismatic to a blood red much like gilgamesh's own red eyes, the spear giving off an ominous aura "The Barbed Spear that pierces with Death..." of course, Shiro's voice even matched the spirit within the lance, so much as gil snapped around, wide-eyed "what the... Lancer!?!" Shiro gave off an almost feral grin before charging forward "GAE BOLG!" he shouted, unleashing the spear's true power, it scared the King of Heroes only slightly but due to his high ranking in luck, he actually managed to only get his shoulder pierced by some quick dodging and a clear backing up King of Heroes staring a bit pale at that "you... you can call on the essence of the weapons history.. their spirit can't you!" Shiro of course, looking like Lancer still, just spun the spear around and flicked it onto his shoulders, casually shrugging "let's just say... i can harmonize with spirits a lot more than i used to... not only that, i know each and every weapon's capabilities within my marble. so why -wouldn't- i be able to use the Noble Phantasms?" he then smirked, and set the spear back on the pedestal and his features returning to normal, while calling back the two blades he had beforehand, settling into a dual wielding stance, before Gilgamesh quickly got back up, narrowing his eyes calculatingly "... you might make this more entertaining than your foolish mentor, Mongrel... but don't think just because you have first blood that you'll win!" with that, Gilgamesh picked Merodach up himself, as well as the other weapon he had, and the clashes resumed from there, though with Gilgamesh entering a more furious pace of clashing, and even landing some decent damage on his ranger uniform and a couple of cuts on Shiro's cheek when he got too close, but Shiro repaid him in kind with cuts on his face as well as another few gashes on that armor of his.

Axel of course winced when he heard the explosions and shock-waves "yup, this is definitely one of the few times Shiro's ever gotten this serious on an opponent from what i've seen at least, i mean.. i heard stories from my assassin nobodies at times about the man who was a living armory literally tearing apart armies of heartless and taking on the Heartless Generals.. but seeing him this serious... yeah, don't think i could ever take him on. got it memorized?" he said, glancing to Roxas and Xion while at least staying back behind Herc since he probably had a better notion in his head to not get inbetween the two. Auron and Hades meanwhile were watching from their own vantage points away from the battle, though Hades was -still- tied up by enkidu. Auron of course had at least heard shiro explaining about the soul part, and looked up to the sky, as if thinking on something ~he seems to be the one Spira needs...~ he thought, frowning a bit lightly.

User Image"Believe me Axel, I've been thinking the exact same thing since Shiro interrogated me about Crystal," Roxas responded with a slight shudder from recalling the one time Shiro's ice cold killer presence was actually directed at him. "He's intense even when he's holding back, but this is totally beyond me."

"I wouldn't want to have to fight against his opponent either," noted Xion. "He might have gotten a little surprised when Shiro got the jump on him with some of his new abilities, but this Gilgamesh guy seems like he's actually enjoying this."

"My guess would be that he hasn't gotten too many opportunities to really to go all out," Hercules pointed out. "Being the King of Heroes, it must be a really challenge to find himself a worthy opponent."

"Maybe I should see about getting him to fight an exhibition round in the Games," Phil was clearly seeing this as a lucrative promotional opportunity for the upcoming tournament.

Roxas raised an eyebrow. He thought Phil didn't want the Coliseum getting demolished again and had seen enough so far to suggest that the Coliseum wouldn't be standing for long if Gilgamesh went all out without the protection of Shiro's Reality Marble.

"This is crazy," he muttered to himself.

"At least Shiro is taking this seriously and holding his own," Xion spoke up again. "I wonder if Crystal would be worried if she saw this."

"You know, I'm really not sure," Roxas admitted. "It seems like Shiro knows this guy and he didn't react the way that he usually does to bad guys like Sephiroth or Kefka so maybe this is actually normal for them."

Vanitas had naturally grown even angrier when he noticed that Samurai Nobodies suddenly coming to Crystal's aid against his Unversed, but more-so when he got blasted with Holy magic and then Crystal immediately proceeded to ignore him while she continued searching through the countless Keyblades strewn across the barren wasteland before her.

"Hey, I'm not finished with you yet!" Vanitas's frustration produced even more Unversed, but true to form Crystal cut them down with expert precision as she continued carving out a path ahead. When that didn't work Vanitas teleported himself into Crystal's path and she hurled the Metal Chocobo at him again, which he dodged expertly as he swung at her again with his Void Gear, which she blocked with Two Become One, but at the same time she held out her other hand to recall the Metal Chocobo to make a quick horizontal swing at Vanitas's midsection knocking the wind out of him as he toppled to his knees. "Why? How can you keep beating me? You aren't even taking this fight seriously!"

"Because some things are more important than me fighting you," Crystal stated simply. She walked past him and dismissed the Metal Chocobo from her hand as she finally reached her destination. "Huh, he's not here," Crystal frowned a little when she realized there wasn't any ghost to greet her as she spotted the Sounding Staff Keyblade. It was a tin colored blade of simple design whose teeth formed the head of a Buddhist ringed staff with a keychain in the shape of a warding talisman.

"Master Shiva moved on a long time ago," Scythe explained as he materialized again by Crystal's side. Fenrir was still back with the Samurai Nobodies holding off the Unversed. "He said his spirit was already at peace so there was nothing to keep him tethered to the world of the living. He also said you would come back eventually to handle the rest."

"You know something, I think he might well have been by far the laziest Master we could have had," Crystal pointed out as she reached out to take the hilt of the Sounding Staff Keyblade. "Of course he'd want to let me do all the work for him."

"Sounds about right," Scythe snickered mildly. "I mean, it was really you who taught me and Blaze everything we knew. I don't think Master Shiva ever taught us anything."

"Nope, he just gave us our Keyblades and basically left it up to us to figure out how to work them for ourselves," Crystal agreed. She lifted the Sounding Staff Keyblade causing it to jingle as it shook in her hand. "And now it's time to fix this mess for good."

Crystal used the jingle of the Sounding Staff to put herself into a spiritual trance, becoming more aware of the unrest among the myriad spirits that still clung to the desolate landscape. And while in that trance she began to sing as the words to an old forgotten song suddenly came to mind. "Come with me in the twilight of a summer night for awhile // Tell me of a story never ever told in the past" Ripples of purifying light began to flow from the Sounding Staff to cover the landscape in its tranquil glow. "Take me back to the land // Where my yearnings were born // The key to open the door is in your hand // Now fly me there" The ripples intensified into waves as the purifying light continued to spread. "Fanatics find their heaven in never ending storming wind // Auguries of destruction be a lullaby for rebirth // Consolations, be there // In my dreamland to come // The key to open the door is in your hand // Now take me there" As the spirits of the fallen Keyblade wielders began to disperse so too did the Unversed. "I believe in fantasies invisible to me // In the land of misery I'm searchin' for the sign // To the door of mystery and dignity // I'm wandering down, and searchin' down the secret sun" As the spirits continued to disperse the negative atmosphere hanging over the landscape also began to fade. "Come with me in the twilight of a summer night for awhile // Tell me of a story never ever told in the past" And finally the last of the spirits would be set free leaving the landscape with a sense of harmonious quietude as the trance was also lifted. "Take me back to the land // Where my yearnings were born // The key to open the door is in your hand // Now take me there // to the land of twilight"

Crystal dismissed the Sounding Staff Keyblade from her hand once the trance was lifted wondering if that had done the trick. It seemed that it had as Crystal could no longer sense the wayward spirits of the fallen Keyblade wielders although Scythe still remained defiantly at her side refusing to move on just yet. Once the Unversed had disappeared Fenrir had moved with the Samurai Nobodies to surround Vanitas to keep him from interfering with the purification ritual.

"What... did... you... just... do... to... me?!" Vanitas was somewhere between confused and freaking out.

"From the looks of it and the way you're acting, I'd say that purifying the spirits here also cleansed your darkness," Crystal considered as she rested Two Become One on her shoulder mildly. "The question is, now that you're a bit more lucid, do you really still want to fight me?"

"No, actually, I don't," Vanitas got back on his feet eyeing the draconic wolf-like beast and the Samurai Nobodies disdainfully. "It's weird, but I don't feel like killing you anymore. I'm not even really sure why I wanted to in the first place."

"To be fair, you were a little bit out of your mind," Crystal reminded him. "And that's at least partially Master Xehanort's fault. He put you in a position to have all that negativity eating away at you, heart and soul, until you didn't have much sense of reason left. I guess he thought that made you easier to control or something. Anyway, it doesn't matter. You're free to do what you want as long as you don't cause any more trouble for me or my friends."

"So then, you're not going to finish me off?" Vanitas was definitely leaning more toward confused now. "But I thought we were enemies."

"Considering you don't even know what you should be feeling anymore right now, it wouldn't exactly be fair to count you as my enemy," Crystal shrugged a bit. "There's also the fact that you look so much like Sora and that you keep insisting that Roxas resembles your light half. I don't know who that is, but I'm betting there's a connection. And killing you won't get us any closer to finding out what it is. In fact, it might just make things worse."

"Che, you might live to regret this," Vanitas responded, getting back some of his snarkiness at least before he retreated through a Corridor of Darkness to disappear.

"You're really just going to let him go like that?" Scythe raised an eyebrow at Crystal.

"Yep, you heard what I said," Crystal stretched a bit looking around to see if she could spot where Riku was. "Killing him won't solve anything and besides that, I'm not a killer. Now what exactly are you still doing here? Don't you have some reincarnating to do like the others?"

"I haven't decided yet," Scythe glanced thoughtfully toward Fenrir. "But I think I'd like to come back as a wolf in my next life."

Axel would hum a bit as he moved to sit himself on the hill of blades, it seemed that Shiro had been guiding Gilgamesh away from others so as to not get them caught up in their fight, of course, he'd almost lean back against the massive hammer when it suddenly disappeared from it's hanging spot on a pedestal, and yeeped, falling over, just as a large golden shine began showing in the distance "looks like shiro's found it a good enough distance for them to use their stronger attacks.." he said, looking at the pedestal with a sweatdrop, but he shrugged, and continued to watch with rapt attention.

of course, to Shiro and Gilgamesh, these sword strikes really were nothing more than a test, more a Test for shiro to see if he can keep up with the King of Heroes, who had actually sat down and started learning to be a warrior now, and Gilgamesh, to see how far he had come from being just a king showing his gate's contents against a worthy opponent, much like Herc had mentioned, even when he was pretty much just firing weapons from his Gate, it wasn't a challenge, only the Faker, and now this.. this interesting man in front of him.. as he's no longer the Faker's Faker in his mind, but he'll still call him that if he's annoyed "Tch... to think that the likes of you, a Faker's Faker, has managed to make me go all out like this... be glad for this, Mongrel!" Shiro of course backed up just as Merodach nearly took his head off that time, and raised an eyebrow, before flinging his swords to the side, seeing something coming out of the gate, what was coming out was a large mace-like hammer, Vajra in fact, ready and primed for an attack in Gilgamesh's hands, while Shiro himself had called forth the golden Hammer from the hill of blades, clenching its handle tightly as his body started to shine bright golden "then it seems if you're turning it up a notch.. so will i! GOLDION.... HAAAAAAMMMMMMEEEEERRRRRR!" he shouted out, the hammer starting to unleash raw power as he brought it around, quickly smashing it mace to Hammer, lightning arcing off from each explosive hit, though the lightning would be harmless as just as it appeared, it would turn into harmless motes of light energy as the shots grew more and more intense with the vibrating handles of both weapons shaking the arms with each strike, though it is nothing for Gilgamesh, being a Servant in a way, and Shiro, using his Black Blood Strength enhancements also kept the arms from being shook so much the muscles wouldn't be able to hold the weapons, of course, it was about the 10th clash that something finally gave, Vajra broke in a massive explosion of lightning, causing Shiro to de-activate the hammer's abilities and let go of it as it faded back to its spot in the marble with narrowed eyes, sure enough, once the smoke cleared, Gilgamesh could be seen bleeding slightly over one eye, his left arm disabled fully now from the extended use of it while the shoulder was injured from Gae Bolg, and Gilgamesh, of course, was smirking, as Shiro panted lightly, using the Goldion Hammer always took a chunk of Prana to do, of course, when the gate opened once more to fire a dome-like volley around Shiro, he cursed, and proceeded to bring his hand up into the air "Rho Aias!" he called out, forming the seven violet petal barrier, arcing it to encapsulate him and protect him like a dome as the weapons fired off and started slamming into the barrier with explosions of dust kicking up, of course, all this was a diversion for Gilgamesh to pull out of the gate.. an odd looking short sword which looked more like a key. and no, it was no key-blade, as when he raised it in the air and gripped it, gears and tumblers in the handle began churning out, something Shiro heard all too well amidst the clangs of weapons hitting the barrier, finally breaking through the first Petal and causing him to move to one leg at the moment, while he mentally summoned Pixie to heal it, as he focused, what weapon... of course, he snapped his eyes open, and proceeded to reach out with his other arm, sure enough, flying through and passing through the barrier, was something Gilgamesh had given him as the gate stopped pummeling him, just as he whirled around on his barely healed leg from the snapped bone, he would at least give off a grunt of pain, and let Pixie continue, glaring at Gilgamesh as he saw the orb of light from the disappearing key, and the appearance of the similar weapon he now himself held, the black and red veined drill-like blade that did not remotely look like a sword, and as soon as Shiro saw it, he winced, his eyes starting to bleed as he stared hard at the blade "the Genesis Star that sunders Heaven and Earth..." Shiro whispered, but faintly echoing across the battlefield as Gilgamesh smirked "yes... the very blade that is the original compared to the one in your hand that i gave you at a whim. have you ever used it?" shiro shook his head, letting his eyes soften a bit from their hard stance "No... i have not, it is not a weapon that should be wielded lightly, granted, it would've made many of my fights so much easier to do so.. i have not, because if i had touched this blade before i inevitably ran into you again.. you'd feel disappointed that i'd use it." Gilgamesh tutted thoughtfully, and tilted his head "i will give you credit for your Tenacity, Faker's Faker.. but if there were fights that were beyond even your marble's capabilities, you should've used it. but, i am impressed that you managed to fight, live, and win without relying on it. now come! let us show these lesser beings the might of which even the gods tremble in fear of our very presence!" Shiro of course rolled his eyes, he'd of course tap his foot a few times to check for the broken bone or shredded tendons, and nodded to pixie, who sighed and vanished before shiro took up stance once more, swinging the arm back as the drill like sword began spinning, unleashing a humongous amount of energy from it, even triple moreso than what the Triple Bahamut Trio unleashed against Vanitas that one time, Gilgamesh raising his own blade into the air "now..... King of Swords.. the Infinite Blade... let your eternal world of dreams fade into that of harsh reality, i acknowledge you here and now, as strong... now AWAKEN, EA! this grandest of stages has been set just for you!" of course, with the winds and energies coming off of both activating noble Phantasms, it was easy to see why Shiro rarely if -EVER- pulled this particular one out of Unlimited Blade Works.... seeing its raw unbridled power just screaming at the tips... it was definitely worthy of the name... Anti-World Noble Phantasm. "Gaze up and behold!" "Raze our enemies and this world asunder!" Shiro cried out at the same time, before they both shouted "ENUMA.... ELISH!!!!" and pretty much, hell was unleashed in two massive triple helix spiral blasts, proceeding to clash with each other with huge fervor, each one pushing as hard as they can with the power they can release from their owners to out-power their counterpart, in fact, the struggle would go on for quite a few seconds before inch by inch, Gilgamesh's blast overpowered Shiro's, and eventually the latter would be blown apart, and the former's would push on unimpeded by the now broken Enuma Elish, to plow right into Shiro, drilling him straight across the lands, the blast of energy ripping through the uniform like paper and it took everything he had, both Black Blood defense and switching to max level Reinforcement by instinct, to not perish immediately by the blast, but at the same time, Shiro was still standing, with a massive burnt hole in the suit he wore, forcing him to power down and return to his normal clothes he was wearing prior to the fight, but he did slowly look up, as he dropped the steaming rotating blade of Ea, which was currently needing time to rest after that "heh... heheh... hehehehehehehahahahahaAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Shiro just started laughing, clearly not out of his mind, but Gilgamesh had also been grinning all the same, before raising an eyebrow as Shiro stood up straight, despite his body being in so much pain "ugh... that felt good, to get that out of my system... it's been a good fight so far.. but now i think it's going to be over." Gilgamesh lowered Ea, raising an eyebrow "oh...? do you concede Defeat, King of Swords?" shiro just smiled, and lightly raised up one hand, calling forth one last weapon from the hill of blades, gripping it in that one hand, before bringing it down to grip it both handed, the blade starting to glow as light motes began rising "one more time, King of Heroes... this time.. let me show you something -real- special about this blade.. the blade of the woman you wanted as a bride..." he said, closing his eyes as he focused, his hair starting to turn blonde this time. "Seal Thirteen! Decision Start!" he called out, his voice slowly overlapping with a lighter male timbre of voice, as the blade started shining, and light swirling around it as it begun to change , a clear female voice would begin to ring out, actualizing the recognition of Shiro's command "Approval: Bevidere, Palamedes, Lancelot, Galahad, Gaheris, Kay, Gawain." with that, the blade continued to change, turning into a color and shape much like Avalon, the sheathe of this very blade, and growing much in power as Gilgamesh went wide-eyed "the Knights... i see.... then bring it on, KING OF SWORDS!!!!" he yelled out, before swinging his arm back ,Ea working furiously into a spin once more to unleash power as Shiro raised the blade into the air, gathering the light motes into it at an accelerating rate now that the power was unleashing at its fullest "EEEEEEEEX...... Enuma... ELISH!CALIBUR!!!!!!" they both cried out, before Shiro swung the blade down as if swinging a hammer of god, sending the much larger blast of light right for Gilgamesh, upon hitting Ea however, it completely swallowed and overwhelmed it, and the blast engulfed Gilgamesh, sending him into a domed blast of light energy, before the bright whiteness of everything engulfs everyone, and they find themselves back at Olympus Coliseum as if they never even left, with Gilgamesh facedown out cold and burn marks all over his body, but nothing serious enough to be considered fatal for him, and Shiro finally collapsed himself to his knees, gasping for air as his body started blasting out steam, his magic circuits screaming from their heated use making him feel like molten slag for a good bit, but it was clear that while Shiro was not in much condition to move... he was still conscious, and thus the winner of the bout.

Stubborn Teenager

PostPosted: Fri Mar 17, 2017 3:18 pm
User ImageWitnessing the escalating clash between Shiro and Gilgamesh gave Roxas a much better understanding of why so often when Crystal would have been visiting Twilight Town to re-supply, other than Shiro's own antisocial tendencies, he was usually holed up in a hotel room or something while Crystal was wandering by herself. Obviously, wielding so much power didn't come without consequences and Shiro must have fought to the point of total exhaustion more often than not. It was certainly an amazing sight to see, although seeing Shiro on the verge of collapse after his final clash with Gilgamesh also caused his Reality Marble to disperse from the area did remind Roxas of his own looming exhaustion and the fact that he had been reprimanded by basically everyone other than Shiro to get some rest. So, while Xion jumped down now that there wasn't any need for Hercules to be shielding them now that the battle was over and went to Shiro's side to cast Curaga on him to reverse at least some of the damage he had sustained, Roxas dropped down and kind of half stumbled to the training barracks to pass out on a vacant cot for the next few hours.

"Looks like the kid finally took the hint," Phil was relieved to see Roxas finally listening to some sense.

"Still, that was some fight," Hercules was still beaming in awe of both Shiro and Gilgamesh, although clearly his fanboy eye-glint was still firmly on the King of Heroes and how amazing it would be to get to fight him himself someday.

"Well, I guess Crystal can't get too mad at Roxas for overworking himself if this is how it usually is with you," Xion mentioned while she was casting the curative magic on Shiro. The fight had been impressive to watch, but seeing the aftermath revealed a lot about why Crystal always seemed to be so protective of Shiro even though he rarely showed any signs of vulnerability in combat.

"Or maybe I should come back as a shark," Scythe mused to himself while he and Fenrir both watched as Crystal brought out her hoverboard, Sky Dragon, from digital storage in her watch to get an aerial view of the area so she could spot Riku more easily. "What do you think Fenrir?" he grinned fangily to the draconic wolf-like beast. Fenrir made a shrugging motion in response before he turned his attention back to his summoner.

Crystal spotted Riku and started making a beeline in that direction. Fenrir took notice of her sudden accelerated change of direction and followed after her on foot with Scythe following along just to see what all the fuss was about. As it turned out, the fuss was about the fact that Riku was sprawled on his back and looked like he had been roughed up pretty good considering so much of his personal magical talents involved defensive shielding and teleport spamming. It looked like the strange armor had returned to its original neutral stance and even upon Crystal's landing and dismissal of her hoverboard the armor remained motionless.

"Curaga!" Crystal cast the healing magic on Riku since for once he actually looked like he needed it. "Geez Riku, I thought you were supposed to be keeping an eye on me, but it looks like I should have been keeping an eye on you instead."

"I might have underestimated how tough this guy is," Riku admitted as he sat up wincing mildly. As always, even though his injuries were already healed by the magic, it still took a moment for his body to register that he should no longer be in pain. "Although it looked like you had your hands full too with Vanitas."

"Yeah, well, he got what he deserved," Crystal rubbed the back of her head before extending her other hand to offer Riku some help getting back on his feet. "I'll admit, it got a little out of hand when he sicced his Unversed on me, but then I got some help from a rather unexpected source."

"Oh really?" Riku seemed amused to hear that as he let Crystal help him get back on his feet.

"While I was being pinned down by the Unversed some Samurai Nobodies appeared to save me," Crystal explained. "I'm not sure if Roxas put them up to it, but it made the rest of the fight a heck of a lot easier."

"I don't think he even had to," Riku pointed out. "They've seen you together so they must know how important you are to him. Plus, you always treat everyone like they matter and it never made any difference to you that Roxas was a Nobody. It's a powerful statement, showing that you believe they have a right to exist."

"It's not like I have any reason to think otherwise," Crystal scratched behind her ear mildly.

"So, other than trouble with Vanitas, how did it go?" Riku had to ask because he had been otherwise preoccupied with fighting the strange armor.

"Well, I met the ghost of an old friend who can't decide whether he wants to reincarnate as a wolf or a shark so he's still hanging around with Fenrir, but other than that I managed to find my Master's old Keyblade and I was able to free most of the restless spirits that had yet to move on after the Keyblade War," Crystal responded with a slight shrug. "The only problem is Master Shiva's spirit had already moved on centuries ago so I can't get any guidance from him about how I'm supposed to show the Mark of Mastery."

"That's too bad," Riku chuckled mildly. There weren't too many people he'd met who could so casually chat about the existence of ghosts, let alone have conversations with ghosts. "I guess we'll just have to rely on Master Yen Sid to come up with a real exam for you."

"Seems like it," Crystal nodded vaguely. "Anyway, assuming we're both through here this really isn't a great place to be hanging around so we should probably get out of here."

"Oh wow, Tifa, you're not going to believe who I just had to scrape off our doorstep!" Yuffie half-dragged, half-carried a decidedly unconscious Riku into the tavern. "Actually, I found him over by the bailey. Not sure what he's doing here by himself or how long he's been out there, but something must have got him real good to knock him out like this. I mean, he's supposed to be some kind of Keyblade Master now, right? How does a guy like that get knocked out so easily?"

Cloud, Leon, and Zidane had already left for the Olympus Coliseum to get in a little training before the next tournament so naturally they weren't available to help with carrying poor Riku otherwise he'd have been inside the tavern a heck of a lot sooner than he was with just Yuffie dragging him along.

It was business as usual for Tifa in the Tavern; surprisingly quiet with her usual clients/friends off training. Thankfully she had Yuffie for help when the random group of travelers would come in for a bite to eat and a place to stay in between worlds.

Speaking of Yuffie, she was about to greet her when she started talking while dragging in an unconscious Riku. During the semi-rambling, she worked quickly to get a few towels and a Mega-Elixir from behind the bar (in case they absolutely needed to use it).

“Don’t be so rough with him, it’s not like a sack of presents from Santa on Christmas Eve,” she helped Yuffie carry him in and lifted him onto one of the tables, setting his head to rest on one of the towels. “Wait, so he was just lying there near the Bailey? No one else around him?”

There was a frown and look of concern on her face before she felt around for breathing and a pulse- which she was sure Yuffie must have done before dragging him all over creation, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t check to be -double- sure. By her standards, she didn’t think she’d need to use the Mega-Elixir unless Riku didn’t wake up on his own after a few minutes to a few hours.

“I’m wondering the same thing… it must’ve been powerful to knock someone like him down.”

"What was I supposed to do?" Yuffie pouted slightly. "I couldn't just leave him out there with all those Heartless creeping around. I mean, I know he'd be fine because this is Riku we're talking about and the security system has gotten a lot better with all the modifications Cid's been making so the Heartless aren't too much of a threat anymore, but still, it would have been rude to abandon him after finding him unconscious like that."

"Could you maybe keep it down?" Riku muttered as he started to come out of it. His head was pounding and there was a good sized welt where something had clearly struck him. He sat up on the table, wincing as he did so. "Ugh... what happened?" he glanced around uncertainly. He recognized Tifa and Yuffie so he knew this must be Radiant Garden. Good, at least that meant he and Crystal had reached their intended destination.

"Actually, we were kinda hoping you could tell us," Yuffie replied sounding more curious than concerned now that Riku had woken up.

"Let's see, we finished taking care of some things for Master Yen Sid and then we were going to come here to wait for the rest of our friends to arrive after they get done with some training at Olympus Coliseum," Riku continued glancing around, becoming slightly more frantic as he did so. "And then I remember something hit me in the back of the head and I blacked out, but where is Crystal?"

"Uh-oh," Yuffie frowned. "That doesn't sound good."

*~Garden of Assemblage~*

Around that time Crystal had also regained consciousness, although when she did she was rather perplexed by her unfamiliar surroundings. "Great, now where am I? Somebody please tell me this is still Radiant Garden."

"If that's what this world is called, then no, we haven't left," a voice that sounded an awful lot like Roxas responded, but there was definitely something off about the way he said it. The fact that the figure who spoke was wearing the standard issue Organization XIII coat with the hood up wasn't helping with the strangeness of it either.

"Okay then," Crystal glanced around the circular area surrounded by strange doors with a computer terminal at its center. "How did I never discover this place before? Talk about weird."

"Shouldn't you be a little more concerned by the fact that you've been kidnapped?" the hooded figure in the coat sounded almost exasperated.

"Should I be?" Crystal shrugged rather pointedly. "I don't know, this is my first time being kidnapped."

"Fine, then listen, just cooperate and I won't have to knock you out again," the hooded figure in the coat responded still sounding rather frustrated.

"Well, this is kind of interesting so I won't try to escape, not for a while at any rate," Crystal shrugged again. She very obviously didn't seem the least bit threatened by her captor. "Although, there is something I would like to clarify. Roxas isn't with the Organization anymore, but you sound just like him and you have almost the same presence. So, does that mean you're a Replica?"

"Che, I'm surprised you worked it all out so quickly," the hooded figure in the coat sounded genuinely impressed at the accusation. "But, you're still a bit off. There's no way you can know the real Roxas. He doesn't exist anymore. Not since he went back to Sora."

"Well, it sounds to me like your memory is a little behind the times," Crystal sat down on the steps near the computer terminal. "It's been about two years since Roxas left the Organization. And it's true, he did return to Sora, but he also came back. It's a little bit complicated, but he definitely exists."

"That... can't be right... how is that possible?" And now Crystal's hooded captor was genuinely freaking out.

With a sigh of relief, Tifa was ready to catch Riku in case he became dizzy- thankfully that wasn’t the case as far as she knew, but that relief was short lived at the explanation he gave. She glanced at Yuffie before looking back to Riku.

“What do you mean, ‘where’s Crystal?’ Yuffie found you knocked out, alone. If she came with you, she hasn’t made it to the tavern.” Tifa placed her hands on his shoulders in an attempt to try and ground him. “Wherever she is, she’s okay. I’m sure of it.” She spoke slowly, so she wouldn’t panic him any more than he already was, and asked her questions, “I know you said you were hit in the back of the head, but do you remember anything? Did you see anyone?” A pause, “Hear anyone that sounded familiar to you?”

She hugged her elbows and put a hand to her chin in thought. “Yuffie, what about you? When you found him- did you notice anything strange? …even if Crystal IS safe, we still need to find her. And considering you were knocked out from behind, it’s more than a little concerning.”

Riku's eyes widened in alarm. "You mean she's not here?! s**t, Roxas is going to kill me!"

"Sorry Tifa," Yuffie shook her head. "Riku is the strangest find I've had all day."

Riku started to calm down as the rest of what Tifa had said finally registered to him. She was right. Crystal was probably fine. Assuming she was still here on Radiant Garden she probably knew her way around better than Riku did himself. He tried to think back to when they had arrived after having left the Keyblade Graveyard well behind them. He had been struck from behind so he didn't get a good look at his attacker, but he did vaguely recall seeing something familiar out of the corner of his eye.

"I'm not sure who it could have been, but I think I did catch a glimpse of someone wearing the Organization coat," Riku finally spoke up again once he had thought it over and regained some of his composure.

"What a pain," Yuffie grumbled. "I mean, it could be anyone wearing one of those coats."

"Whoever it was, they were faster than I am," Riku pointed out with moderate frustration.

"But still, what would they even want with Crystal?" Yuffie actually puzzled over that. "I mean, I thought she wasn't viewed as a threat as much as you and Sora and the rest of your little band of heroes so that creep, Xehanort, was pretty much ignoring her. Has something changed?"

"Your guess is as good as mine," Riku sighed. He was still feeling the fatigue from his fight with that armor at the Keyblade Graveyard. "But I was supposed to be keeping an eye on her until we reunite with the rest of our friends and now I've gone and blown it."

"Speaking of which," Yuffie decided to pry into Riku's earlier exclamation with obvious amusement. "Why would Roxas want to kill you over this?"

Riku's 'oh s**t' expression at the realization that Yuffie and Tifa didn't know about Crystal and Roxas being together must have given it away because Yuffie, at least, burst out laughing.

"Oh my god, I knew it!"

Shiro would chuckle a bit, smiling all the same while taking the healing thankfully ,given his chest and gut were hurting from taking the brunt of that Enuma Elish that he tanked "ugh... yeah, given how often i used to either get smacked down hard to where i was too hurt to go full power, go full power ad often overpower my opponents, or go full power and still need Crystal to bail me out given i had nothing left that i could -actively- use." he said with a sigh, the pain ebbing away the more the curaga spell worked "still, i had other options if he managed to still stand up from that Excalibur... but yeah.. removing the seal on Excalibur was a.. silly idea."

of course, once shiro was able to get back on his feet, he'd at least be a sporting man and move to pick Gilgamesh up around his shoulder and carry him back to the barracks, where he could set the King of Heroes down, and also lay down himself, allowing him to KO for a good few hours needing to rest after that, especially while the morpher was recharging and rebuilding his ranger uniform after the hit it took from Ea and all. either way, while Gil and Roxas were passed out and Axel and Xion were probably keeping an eye on Roxas at the moment, Auron came into the area where Shiro was at, raising an eyebrow "King of Swords, eh? looks like you got acknowledged in a small way by that guy." shiro shrugged a bit with a groan and wince, sitting up "true, but i looked at it like this, it was either i give him the fight, or he pesters or threatens me into one." he said, while Auron chuckled a bit, reaching down and helping Shiro up "well, i can see where you're rough around the edges, more particularly your untapped summon potential, outside of that little fairy thing you summoned." Shiro raised an eyebrow "her name is Pixie, and the only reason i didn't use summons is he'd probably keep me held down with the gate long enough to force dismiss them, even Pixie was pushing it but she had the advantage of being unnoticeable while hidden under Rho Aias." he said, Auron just chuckled a bit while shrugging a bit lightly "we have much to discuss... namely, i wish to take you someplace.. special, to train both your summoning abilities, and the ones you've yet to touch, the remnants within you." Shiro raised an eyebrow at that while looking at Auron "Remnants?" Auron nodded, pointing to various places on Shiro's body, where the magicite resided "Remnants. in either case..." he then proceeded to pull out a small bit of paper, handing it to Shiro as he raised an eyebrow "to write your friends a note. also, where we're going has a bit of a time displacement from other worlds, so where one day might pass here... a lot of time passes in my original world." Shiro raised an eyebrow, before shrugging, and writing a quick note with an offered pen as he hummed, after doing that and everything was settled, Shiro and auron would walk off, even passing by Hades who was yelling for help uselessly as he was -Still- held by the Chains of Heaven from Gilgamesh.

Roveth meanwhile had been a busy little bee, between going through monster files, finishing up his studying on Chronopolis, creating some new weapons for Shiro, and pretty much enjoying his time off and away from everyone, he'd finally be stretching a bit as he started walking down the corridors in the basement, heading for the stairs so he could reach the door, and once he got out, he'd rub his head a bit with a light yawn and small smile of amusement, before flicking his fingers to in front of him, creating a Shadow realm portal, given that Shiro had been to Radiant Garden, he could easily get there himself as well, and would walk into the portal to land relatively close to the residential district, the boroughs in fact, humming a bit lightly as he looked about lightly "hmm... no sign of Shiro or the others, guess i got here first?" he said with a thoughtful hum in his voice, and decided to go see if he could find out if Riku or crystal were here. while roveth's shadowy aura was suppressed due to him holding it back ,it -could- be sensed rather easily by those attuned or trained to sensing darkness (Riku.), so his passively being there would definitely alert people to him being around, though he held no malicious intent for the town and all.

While Yuffie continued gushing about how great it was to hear that Crystal and Roxas had finally gotten together, Riku sensed Roveth's arrival in Radiant Garden and immediately went pale.

"Roxas might have to wait in line," Riku muttered as he tried not to freak out and fall off the table. "Roveth's here and he's probably going to try to kill me first."

*~Garden of Assemblage~*

"Why should I believe anything you say?" the hooded figure in the coat was now acting openly suspicious of Crystal. "You couldn't possibly know me!"

"You're right, I don't know you," Crystal was back on her feet as she started tapping away on the keyboard at the computer terminal. "You aren't my Roxas. But I'm guessing you were made with his memories from being with the Organization and you seem to be aware that you're a Replica so that means you had to come from somewhere. It looks like this place is both a data storage server and a battle simulation interface. You must have been brought outside the simulation field using the same technology that's used to materialize programs and artificial Heartless because you have the same sort of readings as a digital entity."

"That's right, I'm nothing more than an illusion made of data," the hooded figure made no attempt to mask his bitterness and contempt for that fact.

"Well, I wouldn't go that far," Crystal looked away from the computer terminal and back at her captor. "An illusion couldn't knock out both me and Riku. Right now you have substance. You're tangible. Not only that, you have memories, thoughts, and feelings. Even if they are copied from someone else that doesn't make them less real. And really, that's the whole problem I have with the Organization. This technology is so sophisticated and it has this unsettling capacity for creating artificial lifeforms, but without any respect for what happens after creating them. I mean, it's just too cruel."

"Cruel, huh? Yeah, I guess it probably is," the hooded figure sighed still sounding rather agitated in general. "Not that there's anything I can do to change it. If I don't obey orders they'll just come back and erase me. I'm not even supposed to exist in the first place, but for some reason I still don't want to just disappear. It doesn't make any sense!"

"That's the proof that you're alive," Crystal stated simply. "You have the will to live and that means I'm going to help you. Now, in order to do that, I'll need to know who put you up to capturing me in the first place so I can formulate a plan for how to combat them when they come back here to pick me up."

"I'm not sure how you could possibly help me, but the one who activated the system and brought me outside was Xigbar... well no, it looked like Xigbar, but he was different somehow," the hooded figure responded skeptically.

"Braig..." Crystal muttered under her breath. "He's been re-completed, so he's human again, but he's also part Xehanort so he's not exactly himself either. I have no idea how to fight him so I guess I'll just have to improvise."

She knew that Roveth was already in the area and that he would manage to find her eventually. And he'd definitely show up if Braig made an appearance. After the way he introduced himself to everyone back on the world of Wasteland Paradise they all had a score to settle with Braig.

"I don't get it, why would you want to help me even after I kidnapped you?" the hooded figure was mainly just confused at this point.

"Because it's the right thing to do and because you remind me of someone I care about," Crystal answered as she moved away from the computer terminal to sit back down on the steps.

[XIII] Roxas

Stubborn Teenager

PostPosted: Sat Mar 18, 2017 1:19 pm
User ImageBy the time Roxas woke up Shiro was already gone and Hercules was out training again, more fired up than ever because he wanted to impress himself upon Gilgamesh so that maybe he would agree to fight in the upcoming tournament. Phil was overseeing Hercules's training while also making the necessary preparations for the Games, especially now that a Gummi Ship borrowed from Cid had arrived carrying Cloud, Leon, and Zidane; all of whom were looking forward to the tournament while also getting in some last minute training for themselves. Xion was, of course, waiting by Roxas's bedside for him to wake up while also glancing uncertainly to the nearby cot that Shiro had set Gilgamesh on wondering how exactly they were going to deal with him when he eventually woke up to find Shiro nowhere to be found. Xion really hoped Axel would be able to come up with something.

Cloud and Leon were clashing outside in the courtyard honing their skills in preparation for the tournament. Zidane decided to skip out on training for a little while so he could do some exploring since it was his first time to the Coliseum and eventually he found his way into the barracks.

"That guy... has a tail?" Xion blinked in surprise when she noticed Zidane wandering into the room.

"Huh, you're right," Roxas also glanced over in surprise.

"Oh yeah, I get that a lot," Zidane smiled pleasantly. "So, I take it you're one of the hopefuls for the tournament, right? You can call me Zidane. I'm sure you've probably met Cloud and Leon before, but I'm kinda new here."

"Um yeah, I know Cloud and Leon, sure," Roxas nodded. "Anyway, I'm Roxas."

"And I'm Xion," Xion also introduced herself.

"It's always a pleasure to meet such a lovely young lady," Zidane bowed dramatically, giving Xion a cute wink. Xion started blushing out of reflex as she wasn't used to that kind of attention, especially not from some guy she'd only just met. What she didn't know was that Zidane was like this around girls in general. And, in the next instant, Leon sensing that something was amiss when he didn't see Zidane anywhere outside had arrived on the scene to snatch him up by the tail so that Zidane was now hanging upside down from Leon's fist.

"I thought you said you were going to be on your best behavior!" Leon scolded him in obvious annoyance at Zidane's rather predictable behavior.

"I was just saying 'hello' to the competition," Zidane folded his arms over his chest while feigning innocence until Leon finally set him back down.

"Oh, it's Roxas and Xion, and I'm guessing Axel is probably here with you somewhere as well," Leon finally noticed who exactly Zidane had been busy flirting with. "You know, I honestly wasn't expecting to see you three around here."

"Yeah, last I checked, Roxas didn't seem too interested in training," Cloud had also followed Leon into the barracks.

"Look, about that, I kind of changed my mind," Roxas rubbed the back of his head looking a little embarrassed.

"Meaning you've found some reason you suddenly want to become stronger," Leon sighed. "And I'm guessing it isn't because of Sora."

"Sora doesn't motivate my actions any more than I motivate his," Roxas shot a glare in Leon's direction. "But yeah, I did find a reason to want to become stronger. Why is that such a shock to you guys?"
