Preferred Name/Nickname: Nani (pronounced nah-knee I've heard so many wierd guesses at how to say that.... Age: 18 will be 19 this July Location: Nebraska Religion: Ohh...That's complicated. I say I'm an eclectic pagan because I think that's the most accurate way to call it. I'm a little bit of everything (ergo ecletic fits), and I'm a whole lot of pagan...so. Let's just say that. How long you've been a member of said religion: This too is complicated. I was raised by Christians, but I feel like the path I'm on now, is the path I've been unknowingly walking my whole life. Other religions that interest you: All of them smile Favourite texts/passages: Okay I'm the grand butcher of what stuff says. Forgive me in advance and I'll paraphase as best I can:
I like that part in the Bible (John I think?) where it says that Jesus came not to condemn the world. I also like that other part that says to love your enimies, do good to those that hurt you, bless those who curse you and pray for people who don't treat you right. And I like that part in one of the Corinthians that defines love - love is patient, love is kind, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs - there's more but I forget the wording.
I also like the wiccan rede
And this one passage in the book of Mormon where this one guy says something to the effect of "Who cares if he has hundreds and ten hundreds of guys over there? God said we'd be fine, so we'll be fine." (that was REALLY paraphrased)
But I think one of my absolute favorites (and this is kind of wierd) is actually taken from star wars. It's the Jedi Mantra: emotion, yet peace ignorance, yet knowledge passion, yet serenity choas, yet harmony death, yet the force
Actually I think the whole "force" concept is a fairly decent analogy for the way I see things. And I'm huge on opposite and balance. So that's that.
Hobbies/Interests: I'm a writer, and a crafter. I make stuff, usually out of other stuff. For example I'm currently working on a rug made out of old jeans and strips of scrap fabric. I also knit, sew, make jewlry, create nifty decoratively functional things. I blog. And I read alot, and write alot - currently it's poetry, but I've a novel in the works as well. I'm also in college working on a double major in foreign languages and computer science if that tells you anything.
What you'd like to see in the guild: Intellegent, open conversation. Hopefully people I can be friends with.
