So, lately I've decided to read as many major religious texts as I can, cover to cover, in order to gain a greater understanding of world religions. So far I've read the Bible and am reading the Koran (as well as having read the Dharmapada many times), and I'm wondering what to read after I finish that. It should be major, as in it lays down all the basic beliefs and rules of its respective religion, and it has to be available online, but other than that I'm willing to try anything. ^-^
Any suggestions?

I don't know of many religious texts that lay down the beliefs and rules of the respective religions. Most of them are collections of mythology.

Yeah, but within the mythology aren't there parts where the deity or religious leader says how he thinks people/his followers should live? That's what I'm getting at.

Not really. It depends on the mythos I guess.
As far as texts go, the Book of Tao is a good one.
Epic of Gilgamesh
Prose and Poetic Eddas
Bhagavad-gita
The Aeneid
The Illiad

Though, the only real religious text being a "word of" whatever God would be those of the Abrahamic faiths..to my knowledge.
