"Guess so." Lufuu grinned, giggling as she continued to pet the puppy. This was pretty fun, "I'll put in a good word for you if he brings you up, that'll help you too." she glanced up again when Skylar was mentioned and blinked, "Really? Why would they think he's gay?"

She was pretty oblivious.
~~~~~~~~~
"Well, usually that someone is a tyrant or a murderer...so it evens things out a bit." Aokin shrugged, but he wouldn't deny it.
"Why would I? I'm fine with anyone and anything as long as they or it are fine with me." he smirked.
~~~~~
Kurenai watched with mild interest as Tal blinded himself...well, he certainly had interesting ways of approaching things, didn't he? Well, she supposed this was better than having to stare at the top of his head as they spoke.

"Growing up...? It was difficult..." she mused lightly, "There was a legend in the village I was born in that said that a child born as I was, silver as the moon with blood in their eyes, would destroy them all. They meant to kill me but my parents instead abandoned me in a city, to give me a fighting chance I suppose...I was eventually found and taken in by my master, and Aokin, and grew up learning the arts of assassination. It was hard. But what is life, without challenges?" she shrugged.
~~~~~~~~
"He's no ally of mine, but he's given me no reason to kill him...unlike you lot." she stated.
Mortea rolled her eyes as the hound was cut down, muttering about useless hounds before pulling several long, thin knives from the folds of her skirt. She blocked a blow with surprising strength, and beheaded the man that had dared try to strike her before turning on the next.
Freya pressed her palm to her face, sighing softly. "Because he's never shown an interest in females prior to now, and he'd been impressed with you even while still under the guise of a male...hence, everyone around thought he was gay Lufuu...He'd probably take more than an arrow to the shoulder or face for you," she said, tilting her head lightly to the side.
"You're...special to him...even if he hasn't figured it out yet..."
~~~~~~~~
"Ah...don't take kindly t'bein referred to as an 'it' Aokin..." Kali said, her hair bristling slightly as she took a small step back. She knew he meant it as a joke, it still didn't quite sit right with her.

She took another step back as she tilted her head up towards the sky, her eyes glowing violet as she bristled further, transforming with a tumbling of red fur, claws, and massive bushy tail. Settling down on all fours, she curled her tail around her, sitting up as she studied him quizzically. "...One of the few perks of my pack...we're cognizant regardless of form..." she trailed off. "...so...we're not 'its'....but I'm fine with you...I can't speak for the rest of the pack."
~~~~~
Tal found his wine glass and sipped from it as he polished off the vegetables, deciding to sticking to cutlery for the dragonling haunch. "...Challenges, such as avoiding being murdered for being a magic user? Avoiding being lynched despite being a royal...? Or avoid being assassinated by neighboring kingdoms that want a hand on the throne when my father passes...suppose its lucky my brother is relatively unknown to the neighboring kingdoms..." he mused, taking another bite and chewing slowly, thoughtfully.
"...Seems there are local legends in every citadel and village...though the ones here in Neradan are...kept quiet for obvious reasons," he said, hinting at his brother. Anyone else with the 'gift' or rather curse that Skylar had...if a vision was triggered...any others with the gift in the area would be knocked unconscious simultaneously. Such was the case with the now deceased Bakardian commander. That...or Skylar's was particularly potent...there really wasn't much written about the gift of true sight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jekyll spun around, beheading the third of the attackers. Seemed there were more hunters in the area than he'd originally expected. "...son of a..." he muttered as two of them tried to gang up on him. Flicking a small switch at the end of his blade, it extended at both ends, allowing him to spin in a half circle and behead them both. Glancing up, it seemed still more had arrived. "The hell...is going on...." he muttered.

"Oh..." Lufuu blinked, "...that's weird. I mean...we've hit it off well enough I guess...but...it's only been two days. I'd have to kick his a** if he got hurt worse than he did earlier trying to cover me."

"That's my girl." Jackson mused with a chuckle as he came in, having finished everything relatively quickly by this point.

"Ah, welcome back Uncle Jackson!"
~~~~~
Aokin frowned, "I'm offended. You really think I was referring to you as an 'it'?" he huffed and sat back, "You're clearly a woman and clearly a creature of flesh and blood, what's to call an 'it'? I've seen a lot of weird things on my travels with Kurenai, and we've come across spirits, talking trees, odd relics...how the hell do you classify those aside from 'it'?" And he wasn't bothered a bit by the transformation.
~~~~
"Sounds about right." Kurenai mused, "They shape people...be it into an odd prince, or an aloof assassin...or an ambitious, masquerading child..." oh yes, she'd seen the newest recruit. It was her job to know about everyone who belonged in or near the castle.

She nodded then, "Naturally. Legend and superstition are all a part of human nature, though I notice they cause more harm than good as of late. People don't realize how useful and benign these 'evil' and 'forbidden' people and powers can be."
~~~~~
Mortea beheaded a third hunter, and was satisfied with the current number of bodies for research. However she still needed to survive this. How annoying.
"Ah well...it's been a while..." she murmured, then trailed off into a soft, swift chant. Skeletal and decaying hands burst up from the ground around them and grabbed onto the remaining hunters, pulling them down as she snapped her fingers again. More of her dead hounds swept through, collecting the corpses to take back for her to study, "I'm leaving." she stated, and started away. Once she was far enough the remaining hunters would be released, "I don't have the time to waste trying to kill them all. I've other things to collect now."
Freya laughed softly. "Not as strange as you think it is..." she murmured as she glanced over at Jackson. "Food would be great...how was your nightly rounds?" She asked, tilting her head lightly to the side as her hair tumbled down as she sat up a little straighter with support of a couple of pillows. She was taking it easy.
~~~~~~
"...Wait what? Talking relics? Now 'm quite curious..." Kali said, sitting up straighter as she morphed back to her human form, her hair a bit...worse for wear, but fine otherwise. Looked a bit windswept. "That is...if yer up for talkin' 'bout it..." she said, furrowing her brow slightly with an off to the side expression.

Kazel had finally finished with his baking, wrapped up the desert carefully to keep it warm, and made his way back to Iris' shop. Nervous as all hell, he hesitated a moment before knocking on the door. He'd heard fighting on the outskirts of town...but didn't see it as something he should concern himself with. No, tonight was...an honest courting affair. "Iris?" He called softly.
~~~~~~~~~~
"You mean the former Knight Commander's daughter? Think she's doing quite well for herself at any rate...from what I've heard she helped Skylar out during the events that occurred last night..." Tal said, hovering his hand just out of reach of his wine glass. Being sightless was starting to annoy him to a point, so probing with magic to find where he placed things was actually quite subtle. Perhaps it was a lucky evening all things considered that Oxen Stag's place was quite empty tonight.
"...People fear what they don't understand...what they don't have access to themselves...thus wanting to out that which is unfamiliar or foreign..." Tal added, furrowing his brow in thought.
~~~~~~~~~~
"I don't blame you, though it seems I may have to lay low for a while...I don't know what's alerted so many to seek out the pack in this particular location however..." Jekyll said quietly as he sheathed his blade some distance away from the hunters. "I'm sure we'll meet again, Mortea...perhaps you'll figure out how they...'tick'."
