But I wish it was never awarded to me.

Congrats on the DD!
Although deviantART likes to chose the ones that people didn't work as hard on. :[
Why do you wish it wasn't awarded to you?

Zetsubou Hiei Congrats on the DD!

I know, I didn't really work hard on it and web-design isn't my main "thing" D:
Some idiot arrogant pro-web designers were flaming it, saying it sucked and wasn't worthy of a DD. Some didn't even give a critique with "lol that sucks". I was surprised that most of them who said it sucked were pro web designers. I didn't expect them to be so immature and harsh on an amateur like me.

Well, it's kinda like an honor, but it'd be more of an honor if it was for one of my digital paintings, not web-design.
And I told them that. LOL; My anger was blinding me, tho, so I basically sounded immature. Therefore, I disabled comments so no one else can flame it. :D
Here's the deviation that got flamed. D: http://shorai-san.deviantart.com/art/CUBE-synthoxide-96092559
Most of the 60 commenter's were asses who flamed me when it wasn't even my fault that I got a DD in the first place.

Wow. That is super lame.
Yeah, you seem to work really hard on your art, so I would be mad, too, if I was in your position.
I r sorry, Synthro. :[<333

Oh my, I was all like "what" when I saw the thread title but then I noticed it was for web-design. However, disabling comments is for losers. And I'd think about why pro-web designers say it sucks; Probably they didn't get awarded for by far better stuff and are angry that a pretty plain, sterile design got that kind of fame? I'd be.

Flaming the deviate doesn't really accomplish anything, though. She has no power over what gets picked as a Daily Deviation, and while it may be justified anger (in which case b***h nghz plz, it's DEVIANTART. Get over it) there are more constructive ways to go about showing your displeasure.

Well that's too bad. I'm sorry all the mean people came out of the walls to flame you, they really need to grow up and get a backbone.

I'm not sure to which extend that so-called flaming actually happened, I mean, if they just posted something like "lulz it sucks" as she stated I won't even regard it as flaming. Don't you get banned pretty quickly for flaming at deviantart anyway? I just have trouble imagining about 60 people getting banned at once/risking to get banned just for one deviation. Also, I know it's not over her powers whatsoever. I just felt really awkward about this thread, esp. her stating that she wished it was never awarded to her and the "flaming" as well since it sounded like she was fishing for pity-clicks and "OMG WOW"-compliments.

I really don't think she wanted people to look at that specific deviation for pity. She said she wished that it was one of her pieces of art that got the DD instead, and I can see why. If I made a simple web layout, I wouldn't want that getting the DD at all.

I wasn't fishing for "OMG WOW" compliments -- I was expecting constructive criticism, not that bullcrap they gave me. And fyi, I wasn't looking for pity. I'm not even proud of that design and yet it just got picked, and I know I didn't deserve it. People also say that the featurer, lemontea, doesn't care about what he displays as a deviation, therefore, I was a scapegoat for their anger and I definitely didn't deserve the award.
Ah well. I'm leaving it behind me now and thinking nothing of it anymore. Hopefully something like this never happens. Again.

You can't expect the keyboard warlords of DevianTart to give you a fair and balanced critique. Hell, people don't even take DA srsly in "the business," so most of those people flaming you are brushwhore pricks that need to meet the business end of a crub or a shotgun.
