Alone on Valentine's Day

Dreaming your face again, I open my eyes;
Feeling my heart race then is no real surprise.
Yet alone in my mind, I still hear those lies—
The untruths undefined—and look to the skies,
Begging to see the light, a hint of sunrise,
A dismissal of night, but there’s no such prize.
The world is empty gray, smothering my cries,
As I desperately pray for strength to be wise.
My eyes questing upward, I search for a way
To forget, move forward, and start a new day.
I should just forget him, I still think and say,
But the chances are slim that I ever may.
I linger in half-light on Valentine’s Day,
My world marred with blight that tends toward decay.
Once, we had everything, a garden of light,
Yet now there is nothing but a memory so bright.
Now, haunted by laughter that once brought delight,
I ever yearn after the days without spite,
As I look at those pairs with everything right:
Unconcerned by the stares, they kiss in plain sight.
What did we both lack that caused us to fight?
Why did you turn your back, fade into the night?

#1 as long as it can fit into your sig its good
#2 keep it pg 13
#3 no text talk and no one liners.
#4 write out your poem so it can be understood
#5 no swearing
#6 you can do up to 2 poems make sure you pick 2 different types of poems
#7 dont be racist
#8 do not bribe for votes
#9 keep ot fun as it should be
#10 if you want to do a banner poem that be fine
#11 plz title your poem thx

well i thought i start one since its getting close to the holiday, and no one has started one up yet sad
i hope no one minds me starting this one up xd
~Post in the thread to sign up. Make sure you fill out the entry form COMPLETELY so I have all of your info!
ENTRY FORM
1. username thats signing up
2. what class your doing is it a sig or a non sig?
3. are you doing a romantic one or non romantic or a diffrent type of poem? look further down for other types of poem
CLASSES
#1 is signature contest.
#2 is a regular poem not a story.
deadlines
1. deadline for signup is the 1st of febuary
2. deadline for all poems are the 7th

way it should work
1.signup in the class you want to do
2.write up and send your poem or i will pm you if you havnt and its getting close to deadline.
3.you can vote on your fav poem
4.each week you will get a new set of poems to vote on
5.there is a prize that will be at $1,000 for each winner of there round
then we vote the top 4 poems of the so many rounds
6.if you signed up and i didnt put you in to do a poem give me a tap by pm.
7. the money will be sent out at the end of the contest, or to the guild if thats what you wish to do with the money. xd
if you have any sugestion or ways to improve this let me know

1. If i dont get to many people to join this contest i will lower the prize money so i hope i dont have to thx enjoy have fun.
2. if you sign up and do a romantic poem but do a non romantic poem u'll be knocked of 1 vote for every 5 votes if you dont let me know you changed your mind on what kind of poem.
1. lil brat thats funny well i gave in to the dark side and decided to let people run there dark side for valentines day
2. Since Lil Brat gave some good ideas for the contest you can do up to 2 poems any class a sig or a non sig. pick the type of poem can't be same tho we need to be fair and give everyone a same chance to win
1. if you won, and you don't need the prize money and you would rather donate it to the guild instead of keeping the money let me know, the money goes to helping out the guild.
1. if there ever is a tie for say 3rd/1st/2nd the prize will be split 3rd place will be decided later how to do the prize.
2. the poll decided to have a max cap on the non signature poems so the max is 1,500 character minimum is 256 easy way to know,go to your signature like your doing the signature poem and use that to count for you so you dont need to count then.
1. the poem types that need to be voted for a winner in that group will get the $1,000 gaia gold, all others are $500.
1.all the poems i looked overchecked for any reason they get a mark on the poem and get a minus 1 point of vote for every 5 so if u like it do vote it who cares on the its to big/small they know that i told them and/or they took action
but if u think it should go into another poem type let me know reason why it should move, i will take into consideration.
questions and answers
1. question --- with the non-romantic ones, are those just about anything at all or do they have to pertain to Valentine's Day in some way?
answer --- they dont have to be part of valentines day can be just not romantic in any way.
2. question ---- signature poem does mean relating to valentines right? ie; of a romantic nature?
answer ---- no if you put ur pointer over my gaia and go on acount setting you will see in there say signature click on signature and type your poem in there to get the size of your poem. you dont have to post there just needs to fit in as a signature. now your poem can be about valentines tho non romantic or romantic depending on what you picked
3. question --- do i have to send the poem to killafrog?
answer ---- yes so we all get the same fair chance when it comes to being voted. i promise i wont steal the poem and pretend its my own.
4.question if i sent killafrog my poem before the 7th can i redo my poem?
answer yes you can just let me know its a rewrite of the old poem so i dont mistake it for another poem. just dont make a habit of it tho.
5.question how will i know the deadline for poems is comming up?
answer i will have it in the title of this forum post and/or i will give you a notice thru pm, like i am with the signup.
6.question if my poem is all jumbled or a misspelled or a hi-coo is that ok?
answer as long as it fits the catagory you signed under. u will get all your votes. i wont discrimante
7.question where will the poems be posted?
answer they will be posted on the first page
from 4th post and further.
