that frist one would be fun to live in and that last one looks like a gaint class egg

dubai has been the modern chicago, in terms of architecture; there's some amazing stuff happening there, imho. ...but the financial crises there are making things difficult. =P

the new 'world's tallest building' is being built there by SOM (skidmore owings and merrill, if you don't know. they are a huge name in arch)- the burj dubai.(check out renderings here)

also- dubai is busy building artificial land masses to sell and so forth. =D crazy.

also- huge fan of zaha hadid's brand of deconstructivist architecture (although she's been branching out and streamlining more in frank gehry's style recently)

i cant believe someone so deconstructive would be doing frank ghery style as well....>.<......sooo inconsistent!!! o.o

haha- yeah; ten, twenty years ago she did some crazy (structurally-impossible) designs- like The Peak, a winning design for a club in Hong Kong. ...you have to go to her website to check it all out, though. i'm too lazy to forcibly steal her flash images. =P and i can't find other pictures of her plans for The Peak online.

she, however, has always said that she is not deconstructivist (although her designs say otherwise, imho). she may be moving with the times- either for the art... or for the money. lol. since gehry has been making PLENTY of money, it's safe to assume either, imho.
