I love love love love love piggies!!! heart
I have 2, a female Jambalaya and a male, Gumbo
when i get pics i will put them on here ^-^ This thread is intended for anything realated to piggies. Im a newbie owner, so any tips would be nice. ^-^ please post pics of your piggies and your cages. heart Thank you!!

I do have a question. How do you start showing Guinea pigs? Is is anything like dog shows? Do you have to have papers? Would it be best if you went a few first before participating? All anwsers and tips would be nice, thank you!!! 4laugh

This is jambalaya (a.k.a. Chocolate face) when she was a baby, she's gotten alot bigger. and Gumbo and cage jambalaya's side Gumbo's side this is just a temp cage until i get Gumbo neutered.

lol, everyone says that xD I love them both, but i think i like Gumbo better. He is just more social than her. But im sure she'll come around.

i have two piggies too ^^ !!! sakura and artemis. I'll post pics soon.
o and as for showing them, im in the 4-h so I'll ask my leader. I have my club in 2 weeks, so i will keep you posted.
o and i know what you mean, when i still had nibbles everyone would say they liked artemis more just because of looks.... but nibbs was the sweetest piggy ever and i miss him

I've heard the 4-h, what is it??? and that's awesome, thank you so much!
My two piggies have switched eek Jambalaya is way more social and Gumbo is way more reculisive. Why cant they both just be social ><
and im sorry for your loss, i lost a piggie too, i miss her alot (Her name was cookie, she was killed by my boyfriend's Husky crying )

I have a piggy!! her name is Chiquita (Chi-chi for short) She's adorable.... Do you know your not supposed to give them cedar or pine bedding because the aromatic oils will kill them? I don't recommend buying a wheel either, I bought one, she never uses it. If your going to buy a harness, it should be a marshall ferret harness, it works wonders!!!

try guineapigacademy.com It gives helpful grooming tips, as far as a proffessional groomer, ask a local pet store, like petsmart, but really all you need to do (since yours are short hair) is wash them with warm water and some small animal shampoo, and clip their nails.

You shouldn't buy wheels just because they can't use them, but because guinea pigs spines curve downwards, and wheels curve up, so they both go against eachother, causing big problems for the pigs spines, which are more delicate then the wheel, therefore, they break first. Any actual guinea pig questions or comments, I can answer. I've been doing research and owning the fluff-butts for about 6 years. I own 3 sows.
