******** the driving in this is horrible and I have so many complaints about it and if GTA Chinatown Wars was 3D but with all the features it had I would never touch GTA4 again.

The driving in the game is terrible because it's as if the steering wheels only allow 20% of what they can really do. Sure the tires LOOK like they're turning, but if you look at where they're pointed and where you're going it doesn't match up at all. I believe it has something to do with the physics engine.
Woo I love having to slow down to 10mph for every ******** corner.
So 420 drive motorcycles every day.

I never had any trouble driving in Gta4. I just use the handbrake for them difficult corners. You crash you car more often, but who really cares? It's only a videogame.

You should try The Getaway. If you haven't already. It's almost like GTA, just..more..British? (It's the best possible way I could describe it.)

K, so I'm not the only one that had a problem with the driving. It seems to me like the previous games had much more smooth driving. When I picked up GTA4, it was so weird, I was crashing all over the place.

The driving is perfectly spot on if you are going 15mph or under. From around above that speed to 60 your handling stays about the same, even though you're going faster, which is ******** awful. After you clear 60mph, your handling is normal, except your breaks are a joke. They barely work.
Seriously it is a game about driving where I would prefer not to drive, and they don't even include bikes like San Andreas. ********: this was Edge, obv.

I hate that driving is somewhat of an emphasis in GTA4 too. I mean, how many missions are just car chase missions?
I got so annoyed with them I just got my brother to do the car chases for me. >.>

Vitamin Crack I hate that driving is somewhat of an emphasis in GTA4 too. I mean, how many missions are just car chase missions? I got so annoyed with them I just got my brother to do the car chases for me. >.> The car chases are mostly awful just because you literally cannot beat them before certain events during the chase happen. They talk about taking the person out, and so you can empty as many bullets into them as you want, it wont do anything. They'll be running with no tires, driving perfectly to narrowly dodge that scripted event where two cars crash and get in your way. That's what was nice about the other Grand Theft Auto games, you'd end up in a car chase mission, but sometimes it would end in twenty seconds because the passenger in your car shot out their tire and they crashed into the river because of it.

Oh and another thing to hate about GTA4, wtf is with no checkpoints during missions? I'm so terrible at this game I can't usually do missions in one go and I loathe having to start all over again, including spending 10 minutes just driving to my destination (I usually just give up and call a cab).
I was so ecstatic when Chinatown Wars has that auto-destination feature so you can skip the initial driving of the mission.
