I just want to play FF3 really bad, maybe another game or two, and I don't need bells and whistles.

Eh, just use emulators if you're not really gonna be playing a lot of DS games.

I got my DS for free. Still feels like a waste of money. You can play that with a normal DS though.

As cool as DSis are, I don't see the point. There are some "games" (like the latest in the Brain Age series) that use the camera, but I'd be fine with a DSLite.

A want a DSLite to replace my DS because it's bulky and heavy. I want a lighter, smaller DSLite I can keep in my purse to play when I have breaks between classes.

I own all three versions of the DS.

Final Fantasy 4's DS remake is.....different.

You would like my friend Amanda. She and her husband have just about every game system that ever came out in the 80s and earlier, and I think everything Nintendo has ever made.

I want to play FF4. I have the GBA version but never touched it. Never finished FF1&2 Dawn of Souls on the GBA either.

Exactly. You guys could compare and see who has something the other doesn't, and what not. They got a bunch of rare games, too.

Additionally with the DSi...you do not get to use GameBoy Advance games.
You sacrifice that for the camera...
Also, some facets of the DSi are region-specific, unlike the DS or DS Lite.

Anything that uses the GBA slot is incompatible, however I hear the sound card is upgraded in the DSi, which means bettar sounds. Also it has an SD card slot so there will probably be more 'homebrew' type things.

Not so much, yet.

The only homebrew for the DSi is stuff that works the same way as DS/DSlite...... a flashcart. However, only a few flashcarts work on the DSi. Most have been blocked, and even the working ones may be blocked in a firmware update. I already have a DSi flashcart. It only accesses the "DS Mode", not the "DSi mode", which has access to the additional ram and more powerful processor.

If I were going to purchase either right now, I'd go with the Lite and use the money you save to buy a flashcart. There's enough "homebrew" accessable via the flashcarts to offset any of the DSi downloadables that may or may not come out in the future.

The cameras on the DSi are really shitty, too.
