You mean... SeeD ranks in VIII? Guild ranks in XII? Other?

If it does happen to be the guild ranks then here it is. You start at the rank of Moppet. There are points that rise each time you kill a monster. Marks are worth more points. you can view your points when you save the game. It is in the lower right corner. Once you do raise your rank, go see montblanc in rabanastre, he will give you items for your rank. The higher you get in rank, the better items you will get from him. Also killing certain bosses will allow montblanc to give you awards as well.

Well, Gaia guilds don't really have ranks... Just regular members and mods. If you mean you want to be a mod, you'll have to ask the captain, but you should become an established member first. 3nodding

another guild I'm in. Organization XIII has ranks but i don't know much about them except that I am the lowest rank because I just joined it.

Well, I can only guess those must be "player-made" ranks in that guild. The actual ranks for guilds are, as Raven said, these 3 (lowest->highest):
Member->Moderator->Captain.
Not much wriggle room, eh?

That ranking idea intrigues me. >,>

The guild I'm talking about has ranks that rise all the way up to the leading thirteen. there are about twenty or so different ranks.
