Why did you join Gaia?

So I was wondering, what compelled you to join Gaia? Did a friend ask you to? Did you take an interest in the avatars? Or was it something else?

As for me, I joined because I read that it was an anime inspired online community. I also took a liking to the avatars.

So why did you girls join?

A friend told me about Gaia. But I wasn't active until last year.

I guess I liked the avatars and the forums. There are so many things to talk about. Plus I enjoy the games like zomg and towns. ^^

My friend Amanda, who at the time I worshipped, was on Gaia, so I joined. I was probably eight? But I didn't become active till 07, in 6th grade.

A couple of years ago I was on IMVU, and everyone was complaining that they should be able to earn credits by posting and stuff "Like on Gaia!"

So I was like, "Hey what's the big deal about that site?" So I joined and I keep coming back.

Friend recruited me. At that time you earned gold for recruiting people onto the site. XD Thanks Matty matt matt! XD I don't know if he's still on here or not. =3=

But I stayed because i made a lot of friends on here and I love dressing up my avatar. XD

My freshman year I befriended a senior who told me about it. She left for college so it was my only way to really talk to her, I've been addicted since. ^_^

My little sisters were both members of gaia back in 2005, and kept sending me email invites while I was in college, so after I graduated I went ahead and joined just to see why they kept sending me invites. XD

A friend encouraged me around 3 years ago. I rejected. Then my best friend told me to join a few months ago. I eventually agreed and I've been spending way too much time on the computer now. xDD
