This may not be true but I heard that doctors are trying to make this legal again for a woman to do as she chooses?

Going off of the idea that may be true what do you guys think? I understand the uses of normal Abortion and am in fact pro choice in most cases but I belive this process is horrifing and should only be used in up most emergancy. I don't think its somthing a women should be able to get just cause she wants it.

Now remeber I'm talking about PBA and not early abortion.

Would you mind defining PBA for those of us who don't know what it stands for?

Partial Birth Abortion

I don't understand, Partial Birth Abortion? Isn't that still killing the fetus, partially? How does the process work?

I can't really choose either side, because I was never pregnant or in a bad situation like teen pregnancy or rape. Because there are different circumstances for different people with it, so I'm neutral until I figure out what I believe in.

Another name it goes by is "dilation and extraction procedure"
Its preformed during hte last trimester of a pregnancy.
Here is a brief walk through...

* Cervix is dilated.
* Abortionist grabs legs with forceps and proceeds to pull the baby through the birth canal.
* The baby is delivered, except for the head.
* The abortionist sticks a sharp thing in the back of the head, then removed. The abortionist then vacuums out the insides of the head until it collapses and passes easier through the v****a.

I believe in a woman's right to choose, but I must say that I believe PBA and late term abortions to be greusome, horrifying and completely unethical.

If a baby can live outside of the womb, then it should not be aborted. Even if the mother doesn't want it. What's a few more weeks and putting it up for adoption? But that's just me.

Though I can understand the need, like if the fetus wouldn't survive birth or the mother wouldn't survive the birth. It is a solution for emergency situations, despite the ethical issues surrounding it.

Isn't D&E almost always done in cases where there's some sort of late-term complication during a wanted pregnancy to begin with? If someone has an unwanted pregnancy, waiting until they can't hide the fact that they're pregnant doesn't make any sense.

Reading that literally made me feel sick.
I don't even know how a woman can go through something so traumatizing? At any rate, I consider that murder, it is almost fully developed.
There will, as aalways, be exceptions though, such as if the woman or baby is life danger anyway.

Thats is currentlt true but if what I heard is correct doctors are trying to make it legal for a woman to get done for any reason and not emegancy only.

I think the worst part is the reason they don't let the head come out is because if the baby breaths its considered alive and they don't wanna take that risk.

I agree with this.

AKA third term abortions

These are legal in Canada (where Im from)

I am honestly really conflicted on the issue. While I have always felt that this was a decision so personal that it couldnt really be debated third term abortions are not in the gray area of is it a person or not, at that stage it is definatly a person and as far as I can tell that constitutes murder. I have never been in the position where I had to consider one though so I feel like I dont really have a say in this, bleh so confusing.

I find it rather horrifying, myself.

As horrible as it is, its her body so therefore her choice.

I'm pro-choice but late-term abortion is just plain wrong, unless there's a health risk involved. Simply aborting a child at 7-9 months just because you don't want it is wrong, discusting and disturbing. If you're gonna have an abortion, do it early term while it's just a clump of cells, before it's actually a human being.

That said, PBA is just wrong. Unless it's for medical reasons, it shouldn't be legal.
