So who here has read Marvel's The Runaways? It's HONESTLY my favorite series. Ever. No anime, no book, no show, no manga (okay, maybe ONE manga comes extremely close), NOTHING has ever captured my heart so much. I can't wait for the movie, because Brian is going to be writing it! biggrin I love Brian. I'm hoping to audition for Gert. So if anyone has any info about auditions...>.> Cause all I can find is the movie about the BAND. D:
Anyway, The Runaways is about 5 teenagers and 1 pre-teen. Chase (17), Alex (16), Nico (16), Karolina (16), Gert (15), and Molly (11). Every year their parents get together at Alex's house, and the teenagers are forced to hang out while their parents do charity work. Well, with nothing better to do, they decided to spy on their parents...When their parents bring in a prostitue, they have Karolina take Molly back. The other four are shocked to see their parents kill the girl. Someone, I believe Nico, screams, and so they have to race back so their parents won't suspect anything. The teenagers decided to runaway either a day or a week later. They go to each of their houses, still some s**t [Gert finds herself a pet dinosaur, Chase gets some gloves his parents invented, I forget who gets The Abstract, probably Alex], when they are caught by Chase and Nico's parents. Nico's mom tries to kill her [ biggrin ], but fails [D:]. Instead, Nico gets The Staff of One. They defeat their parents, then go to pick up Molly, who knows NOTHING. They get a phone call from Gert and Molly's parents, saying that if they don't turn themselves in, they're going to kill Molly.
Okay, enough spoiling the first volume. xD
But yes.
Chase (Talkback) and Alex (Doesn't have a code name) = Normal humans. Alex's parents are 'The Thieves' and Chase's parents are geniuses..but Chase is a bit of an idiot. xD
Gert (Arsenic) = Normal human with a pet DINOSAUR. Named Old Lace. biggrin Her parents are time travelers, btw.
Karolina (Lucy in the Sky) = Alien! :O
Molly (Princess Powerful/Bruiser) = Mutant!
Nico (Sister Grimm) = b***h! I MEAN WITCH. Well she's a b***h too. *hates Nico. A lot. IT'S ALL HER FAULT, EVERYTHING IS HER FAULT!*
Anyway, this series will have you laughing, crying, on the edge of your seat...
Some other characters enter the series, too.
Victor = I'm not going to reveal what he is, cause that's a surprise! biggrin
Xavin = A Skrull (another type of alien) and Karolina's fiance.
Klara = I think she's a mutant? I haven't read the volume she comes in yet. D:
But yes, this is one of the best series I have ever read. :] It's said to be the best comic Marvel has come up with in like, 30 years? And ____'s death (SO NOT SPOILING IT. D<) was listed as the 6th saddest death in Marvel history. :O
