~Introduction~
Sabin
Wind Serpents - Wind serpents have features in common with both Kalona and Kirin - which is a rather counterintuitive combination. They are adept at flight, and have a sinuous movement in the air that speaks of a snake-like nature. Most of them are not evil, but prefer the taste of meat. They have long fang-like canines and can open their jaws quite wide. Some of them have a mild toxin in their fangs that can lock up the muscles of prey animals. It has only a very mild affect on creatures as large as soquili.
Zo has claimed a territory for herself in the mountains. Now she is looking for members to join her herd. She spread word far and wide of a new wind serpent herd being gathered. Meet at a certain small circular clearing in the mountains. The interview would be held there.
The herd resides in the forested mountains. Several large fields are included in their territory and a large river flows almost through the center. The river is of significant size and can pose a hazard to young foals. The trees while large are spaced well apart which allows for flying in the forest. The lower branches are usually large enough to make excellent perches.
They make their homes in caves situated in several cliff faces at the northern edge of their territory. Materials from the local area are used to build nests. Well above the range of any ground bound or gliding soquili, is no less than five entrances into a large warren of caves. The entrances are large enough for landing while a guard keeps watchful eyes on the immediate vicinity. All five entrances lead thus into a large cave. Daily activities, such as socializing and feeding, are done here.
Branching off from the main cavern are tunnels that end in a multitude of smaller caves. These are excellent for mated pairs who are expecting or have young. The Alpha’s and Protector’s quarters are directly at the back of the cavern. Along the right side of the main cavern is a trio of caves. One is twice the size of the other two. The two will be used as birthing chambers and the largest is for foal daycare.
Individual caves are scattered over the cliff face around the warren’s main entrances. Bachelors and bachelorettes may house in these individual caves. These caves do not attach to the warren.
