The Faculty Five more applications to go, five more applications. He stared balefully at the slanted clock behind him (the cleaning gnomes had finally replaced the old one with one that actually worked, somewhat). Six o'clock pm. "Do I have to finish this tonight?" The sometimes-secretary whined towards the door clearly marked ' Hellma's office, keep closed at all times'. "I don't even get paid overtime for this." " YOU DONT GET PAID PERIOD." Hollered the voice from Hellma's office. He grumbled and lightly skimmed the next student application, stamping it for the sake of expediting this torture. Whatever the heck a Chupacabra was (Arel wasn't quite familiar with species outside his own), it sounded edible.

The Chupacabra ( Spanish for "goat sucker" ) is a legendary beast rumored to inhabit the Americas. Originally first sighted in Puerto Rico, there have been reports of the creatures being spotted as far south as Chile and as far north as Maine.
The most common description of chupacabras is a reptile-like being, appearing to have leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines or quills running down its back. This form stands approximately 3 to 4 feet high, and stands and hops in a similar fashion to a kangaroo. In at least one sighting, the creature was reported to hop 20 feet. This variety is said to have a dog or panther-like nose and face, a forked tongue, and large fangs. It is said to hiss and screech when alarmed, as well as leave behind a sulfuric stench. When it screeches, some reports assert that the chupacabras' eyes glow an unusual red which gives the witnesses nausea.
Unlike conventional predators, the chupacabras is said to drain all of the animal's blood (and sometimes organs) usually through three holes in the shape of an upside-down triangle or through one or two holes.
Born to an already mid-sized pack, Temes was the youngest for all of a year or two until another set of siblings was brought into the world. Her family moved around a lot when she was younger, mostly because it was rather large and people were noticing that their livestock was getting pick off at a rather alarming rate, and eventually when her older siblings decided to go their own way her parents moved her and the younger sets up north.
Life in the group was rather easy for Temes considering she was already smaller than everyone else, a runt as some called her, though considering the actual size of her kind it's a hard press to make fun of one another. She spent most of her time playing by herself with imaginary human friends, and whenever she got hungry she found that she could easily take down a bird or two...or five. Her parents, finding that their daughter was responsible for a rash of missing pets in the area, decided something must be done with her.
Enrollment Reason Temes has this little problem with controlling her strength, and by little problem she means she accidentally kills or injures a majority of what she tries to play with - like the neighbor's cat, for example. It's not her fault that everything around her seems so darn fragile that a game of tug-o-war ends badly for everyone. That being said, she's come to Amityville in hopes of learning to play nicer as it were, as well as to better control her strength so that way she can actually have a good time playing with the neighbor's dog or cat....or goats.
There is a rumor that she's come to the school to deal with an eating problem and that the whole strength bit is actually just a clever cover to address the real problem. Further speculation is she's innocently (really) misusing her natural abilities for her own gain and her parents want that fixed before she does something reckless. There is also speculation that she was sent to this school in order to either toughen up or be completely broken down and therefore easily abandoned by her family without them having to worry so much. Yay parenting!
It has been confirmed that the whole strength issue is a complete and total lie told to the school in hopes that they'll accept Temes. Her parents were worried that the school wouldn't accept a Chupacabra that really, really liked to eat (when nervous and sometimes not nervous) and is a complete wuss, so they made up something that sounded pretty darn good and convincing.
