When Nag the basking cobra hears the careless foot of man, He will sometimes wriggle sideways and avoid it if he can.
![User Image](https://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b337/miss_cherie/NajaFin.png) Name: Naja Nicknames: ... Just try it, I dare you. Gender: Female Age: 15
Faction/Race Monster (Gorgon)
Personality: Sssss... what do you wish to know? Naja comes from a long line of monsters, each one with some sort of snake related focus. Rumor has it that somewhere way back when there might be a demon or two in her heritage, but that is pure heressssy! How dare you make ssuch an inssssinuation? With such a proud bloodline, she has acquired a certain overweening pride that she has little earned, but who can really blame her? After all, not everyone can be a gorgon. When one’s ancestors might very well have mingled with Medusa herself, on is entitled to a certain amount of ego.
Of course, Naja takes this to a whole new level, refusing to be a good little monster, and stay in her nice, safe low rung on the ladder. You might say that she can show some entitlement issues, or maybe even make a real asp of herself. She has a real devil of a temper, displayed by her hissing cobra hair, which likes to tie itself into knots when she’s angry. If you get on her bad ssside, boa you’d better watch out! That is, if you don’t happen to be a charmer, if you know what I mean.
Naja has recently discovered the big, wide world of boys, and to her frustration, it seems not to have discovered her quite yet. Of course, when one has to take to wearing a veil or a pair of dark sunglasses to school every day, that might just put a crimp in one’s love life. She’s growing in leaps and bounds, and trying (fumblingly) to learn the fine art of flirting, but that is very much a work in progressss. Don’t those boas know how to treat a ghoul right?
She has a bit of a speech impediment, but it’s best to just... let that slide. Adder safe than sorry, as the saying goes. Oh? Doesn’t it go that way? Don’t question Naja! She obviousssly knowss better than you. After all, that’s what her mother told her, and her mother’s mother told her, and so on. A truly vain creature, she spends hours in front of a mirror, burnishing her cobras (carefully shielded by a nice pair of sunglasses, of course!) until they all but shine.
Why did they enroll at the academy? Boys, boys, boys, we like boys in cars. I mean uh, well, she’s trying to learn how to properly use her fear like a good gorgon should. Right now, she can only manage a paltry stun with her baleful gaze, and that just isn’t right! Naja would like very much to learn how looks can kill.
Fear: Natural Ability-- Spitting Cobra- When angry, her hair becomes a weaving mass of furious cobras, hissing in warning at anyone who dares approach. If provoked further, they may spit venom on unwary individuals. As they are not true cobras, their venom is only capable of rendering its victims temporarily uncomfortable.
FEAR Ability-- Stunning Gaze- In combat, Naja can amp up her gorgon’s gaze to hold her opponent in place for a spell, rather than making them simply dizzy and disoriented (she hasn’t gotten down that death thing just yet, okay). However, doing so will weaken her, and open her up to attack-- particularly if her opponent brought a friend. Mirrors are her bane, and will turn her attack onto herself. When she is outside of a fight, she must remember to keep her eyes covered at all times in order to avoid involuntarily using her natural ability to disorient her ‘prey’. Once used, it must be recharged to be effective once more (it cannot be used more than once in a battle, of course), which makes it doubly important for Naja not to accidentally trigger it.
But his mate makes no such motion where she camps beside the trail. For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.
