(Note: I am not sure if there are any Final Fantasy based games going on right now in this guild, but if there are, then this is not that game! biggrin )

Hello to everyone reading this!

First, I will tell you now that this is not anything close to a regular d&d 3.5e, 4e, "whatever e you play"e. This is a totally different format. If you don't want to learn any new rules, then this isn't the game for you, and there are plenty of other games out there that you will like.

However, if you are willing to learn a new system then welcome! You can find the rules on Returner Games.

You may notice that the Tome of Monsters isn't working (at least not on my computer it isn't.) There is, however, a monster creation section in the GM portion of the manual, and I will use it until that problem is fixed (it's been that way since at least half a year ago).

We would prefer that you be at least semi-lit, but if you use txt talk or anything in OOC Chat (which will be denoted ingame with double parentheses ((like this)) ).

If you have any questions, please post them here. I will be adding the profile template soon, so if you are interested, you can post your profile here as well.

Curious, it mentions rules for Ivalice on the sight, at a glance at least. Were you planning on using a different game world, a GM created on, or modelling the game after FFXII or FFT?

Despite taht with my time constraints I should probably not join another game, FFT is an old favorite of mine and I'd have to at least give a serious look over the rules for an FFT inspired game.

There IS a Final Fantasy D&D game on the guild (mine), but I think my players abandoned it. It was set in FF1, though the black mage disappeared off gaia, his replacement has too much drama to have time to post for me, and the thief is kept too busy with school to have much time for the game.

I think it's officially a lost cause sweatdrop

Didn't I get pushed out of the initial lineup of that game, or did you simply have a preference for players not already in your other games?

I am currently deciding which world I should use, and if any of you are interested in any in particular, let me know so I know which ones to pick from. The map doesn't have to be from Final Fantasy either!

Didn't I get pushed out of the initial lineup of that game, or did you simply have a preference for players not already in your other games?


I think the latter. With only 4 slots, it filled up fast.

I'd rather NOT have to a hard party reset, but I might if people are interested.

Are we allowed to take Advantages/Disadvantages?

I was rolling a thief and wanted to know if I could take Multitalented (level 1, 1 point) for Gil Sink (level 1, 1 point). Of course, if you don't want to use them, that's fine too. The two balance out according to the rules and it affects my starting choice of equipment, which is why I asked.

EDIT: Nevermind, found where they were on the sheet. Still asking for approval on the two I wanted.

I can safely say this is the weirdest roll for starting HP I've ever made.

But I like the system. Kinda video-gamey but not too much and very accessible compared to d20. Like a much easier to understand Exalted.
ANYWAYS stat will be (roll result) +30 +28 to equal 60 even.

lol I forgot to remove that. I got the profile setup from an old guild that used this. It's pretty inactive now. I'll make sure to fix that.

Well that's good. And I think I did armor wrong, too... I couldn't find the "Table 2-2" that it referenced.


You can find it on page number 31. In your case, since the ARM values of all of the armor you have equipped add up to 6, you would find your VIT statistic, and compare it to the chart on page 31. In your case, since your VIT is 6, you would add 15% of 6, the sum of your armor's ARM scores, which would make 6.9, and you would round up to 7.

Now, using the chart on page 31, what would you have in total for your M. ARM (keeping in mind that for your M. ARM, you use SPR rather than VIT)?
