Personality: You know those girls, those mean, mean girls who band together in groups and pick relentlessly at those they deem as lesser than themselves? Carthusia likes to dream herself as the head of that group. She wants desperately to be the head Fearleader, the head of Student Council, top of the class, the best of the best of the best. Cream of the crop, obviously. Whether or not things end up that way is anyone's guess, but it's not for Carry's lack of trying. She usually gets an A+ for effort in all categories, because frankly, she has a serious inferiority complex to overcome. Being the middle child of five, Carry had neither seniority nor being the "baby of the family" going for her, and felt she was overlooked most of her life. She's spent most of her time attempting to do something worthy of the attention of her family, as none of her previous achievements seemed to matter much to her parents or siblings. She has low self-esteem and overcompensates with intense drive and devotion. If something doesn't go her way, she'll run off, cry about it for a while and come back stronger than ever.
Never without a plan up her sleeve, Carry does everything with intent and effort. Always thinking, always devising and always adapting to her surroundings, she'd begrudgingly start as an underling to work her way up the ladder of society, class or club through serious time and devotion. She'll write invitations, set up the gym, press your clothing, bring food, tutor you, etc in order to get brownie points with you and the higher-ups. Her ultimate goal is to be on top, to prove herself to classmates and teachers alike. She's not worthless or tertiary, Candlejack it, and she will show you why! As a result, she's very open and friendly towards most individuals (even non-demons) and teachers alike. The more friends she garners, the more connections she makes and therefore, the more people that can rally behind a particular cause for her. She thinks of friendship and bonds as crucial to any successful venture, and she cannot prove herself to herself alone. It isn't worth it without the love and admiration of others. In the back of her mind, it makes her feel better about herself when others like her (though she tries to hide this!)
She feels she has an image to keep up under two guises - demon and student. She dives headfirst and headstrong into schoolwork and does her best in every way possible, be it turning things in ahead of time or writing that essay with an extra page attached to it. She'll volunteer to assist with classroom activities or to help a teacher who needs a T.A. Extracurricular activities earn her undivided attention as well, especially if the captains of which are prominent in the social scene or friends are involved. In order to keep up appearances with the other demons, she tries to hold her head high and wear extravagant clothing to every occasion to display her family's wealth and fortune. If this gets people to admire her, then excellent! The size of her circle of friends outweighs a demon's tendency to look down on others if they are not demonic themselves.
Overall, she's the overlooked child of a prominent and wealthy family hellbent on proving she's not simply a shadow in the background of some larger painting - she's center stage, smack dab in the middle of your undivided attention and admiration. She desperately wants the love and acceptance she felt she never had from her family, and stops at nothing to gain it from new friends and teachers at the school. She makes friends willingly and thrives on the social interaction that both feeds and calms her, making her feel much more comfortable in social situations than she ever did before.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Demons of the Vaunlarzith family usually attend a private school on their own demonic plane of existence, but in order to strike out on her own and make a name for herself, Carry enrolled in Amityville. Here, her family didn't have a reputation preceding themselves and she could experiment in the social scene without a stigma already attached. Amityville also boasts a wider variety of students on campus, allowing Carthusia access to a broader range of potential friends, backers and activities.
Physical Description:
Eye Colour: The sclera is black and the iris is red.
Hair Colour/Style: Very long with a slight wave, her hair is a gradient from a light red/orange at the crown of the head, to golden blond at the tips. Her hair falls to the floor.
Skin Colour: Medium Caucasian and smooth in tone.
Clothing Style/Colours: Very fancy and somewhat revealing, Carry's clothing contains gradients like her hair - her bodice goes from a deep red at the top to a golden yellow at the base. Her skirt is simple and runs from black to a Burgundy at the bottom. Various orange and blue accessories ornament her look. Her overall outfit is reminiscent of a sunrise/sunset.
Extra: Two large webbed wings in orange/red and black at the back, and protruding sunset-themed horns from the sides of the head.

History: While enrolled at the Academy and attempting to make a name for herself, she met and befriended a Reaper named Lilith. This Reaper seemed quite powerful, or at least would be very helpful to Carry in her climbing of the social ladder. Lilith was attempting to find a familiar/partner to best suit her needs, and Carry stepped up to the plate with the intent of being the best familiar that ever familiar'd. Unfortunately, Lilith rejected her and sent Carry packing. Confused and incredibly hurt, the avarice demon was charmed by an unknown individual offering promises of vengeance and the ability to regain what was lost - Pride's own pride and feelings of self-worth. Carthusia happily accompanied the mysterious individual to the Human Realm and went along with whatever devious plans he gave to her. He was probably a sorcerer of some renown who possessed incredible power and sway, he just had to be! Her family would be so proud! Disillusioned, she assisted in every way possible and was sent back to Halloween to wreck her vengeance when she was ready (and imbued with the 'sorcerer's' prodigious power,) and found Lilith and her 'boytoy' Steve in a Chinese restaurant.
She doesn't remember any of the time in the Human Realm nor how she got there or who she was with. The only thing she does remember is being enrolled in the Academy and that she was/is friends with Lilith. |

Natural Ability: Aura of Command - Carry naturally exudes confidence, whether she actually feels confident herself or not. With concentration, her gaze can cause someone to stand still, paralyzed in awe of her. She can only paralyze one person at a time, and for very short intervals.
FEAR: Demoralizing Stare - Looking down her nose at her opponent, Carthusia can instill the feeling of being mocked or being embarrassed into the target. This manifests as the target being surrounded by individuals who point and laugh at them, taunting them mercilessly. The end result is the target becomes upset and sloppy or unfocused in their attacks or retaliations. The effect only holds as long as Carry can maintain eye contact with the target. If either one of them breaks the stare, the effect is gone. Since she's only a first year student, the overall FEAR ability does not last very long at all, if successful. |

[LW] - Carthusia's first (and only) mark, their contract being one derived of mutual respect and trust. LW has skills that Carry does not possess and vice versa. They agreed to back each other through thick and thin, and Carry even did the paperwork to prove it's legit. They try to stick together, especially when the rest of LW's posse isn't around.
[Riley] - A demon by any other name, Riley's unusual, intelligent and very confident. Carthusia thinks of her as an ally, and they even tried out for the same part in the school play! An excellent acquaintance to have. She seems to have a "thing" for a certain Doctor, someone Carry's never met. She's first person Carry's ever befriended at the school.
[Livius/ENVY] - Boyfriend and dashing young man extraordinaire. Livi is all about fashion, courtship and looking good in general. The epitome of arm candy, and Carthusia doesn't mind at all. Besides, two demons are better than one, right?

Their relationship is a big brother/younger sister type, where they both plot something devious and get into trouble.

She remembers a deep and idolizing love of Lilith while they nurtured a friendship, but anything beyond that is like waking from a dream. Carry remembers 'waking up' in a flaming restaurant that served steaming hot plates of carnage. With the gaps she has in her memory, she hopes her old friend Lilith can shed some light on these nagging questions. |
