It's alright, I panic about things, too. :3
Some basic rules are, never give your passwords to ANYONE. Not your Gaia password, not your Facebook password nor your e-mail password. Mods never need passwords, so if someone claims to be, report them. This goes for any site you browse. Don't click links you don't recognize. Especially if they say "Click here to get free gold/a free iPod/etc." Those are considered scams and could be keyloggers, which are trojans that track what you type. The same goes with ads. Don't click them, either. Keep your antivirus up to date. If you don't have one, GET ONE. And get an antispyware program while you're at it. Scan often.
If you have Firefox or Google Chrome, I suggest you get AdBlock Plus and block them all, because some ads contain viruses. I'd also suggest you use the Web of Trust tool; this tells you what sites are risky and which ones are safe to browse. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me. :3
