So yeah, I went to the doctor today and after getting my height and weight and doing those tests she said that I was at risk for type 2 diabetes because of my 40 something BMI. she also said my body was starting to reject the insulin it makes, what can I do? I dont like to excercise and my sister constantly reminds me that i need excercise because of my weight because she's twig thin. I dont want to do anything about it but know i have to, is there anyone out there?

Hey girlie I know exercise can be hard, but most of the time it's because you haven't found the right workout for you [: Even if you don't want to do it,you have to otherwise things could get much worse. Just try & convince yourself that exercise is fun and its good for you~!

Exercise may suck, but when done right, it can be fun and better than drugs! (Literally. Endorphins are little head miracles.)
You really need to start exercising and proper dieting, especially being at risk for Type 2 diabetes. I have a friend whose currently in your position, who just cannot find a good exercise program for her. So I've been working with her by exercising with her. Maybe you can find a friend to join you? You'd be far more motivated. Just taking a scenic walk can be good for you!

Not to be rude...but the less complaining, and the more doing the quicker the problem is solved and your sister and doctor are off your back.
I was/am quite chubby, antisocial and pretty much anti exercise and dieting. I hate cutting back on the food, especially the sweets. But I have an extreemly health concious family, so Mum made me go for walks and stuff when I began to have the same sort of issues as you. Do you have a dog? Take it for walks if you do - 30mins a day is all you need to do to start with. If it's cold, throw on some warm pants and a jacket. I know it sucks, exercise is no fun, but it has to be done or we get sick.
Also on top of walking now I do karate twice a week now, so maybe you could pick up a martial art? I mean this entertains me....but then I enjoy the fact that I get to hit things here without breaking them or getting into trouble...
Keep your chin up, grit your teeth, and just embrace the fact you have to exercise.

You could find innovative exercises like dance or yoga,it can actually be really fun and you can even make some friends in the classes. Or you can always try out for a sports team, I know the work can be excruciating sometimes but if its a sport you especially enjoy it will pay off.

Get and X-box with Kinect! AngryJoe has this awesome review for the Kinect and how it makes you move more than a Wii. Angry Joe Dance Central Review Then, since you have an awesome x-box, your reward for exorcising can be a nice relaxing sit-down with Assassin's Creed! Or, if you're like me, you can plug in a dance pad and try to get the character to move with that! rofl (haven't tried that on the 360 yet)

I know a girl who you kind of remind me of. She was rather tall at 5'11, but she weighed over three hundred pounds. One day she was complaining about her weight. I told her to start walking, as that's what my cousin* did. My cousin lost around 20lbs just by walking. The girl made an excuse saying, "I don't like people watching me walk." So I suggested getting a treadmill. You can walk in the privacy of your own house. "We don't have the money for a treadmill." So I suggested looking at yardsales, because my fiance and I bought a very nice treadmill for $50. "Well, I don't like buying used things." After a while I got tired of hearing her excuses, "Well, 30 minutes of exercise equals and anime I'm missing." Eventually this girl got lapband surgery for her 18th birthday, after years of not even attempting to lose weight herself. She's had a lot of complications, she's about the same size even after the lapband procedure (it's been nearly two years since I stopped speaking to her). I feel sorry for her, but in another way.
Some aspects of exercise are fun, but some aspects aren't. In the end though, when things are really starting to add up (such as diabetes risks, and other health factors) it's time to look into things.
* My cousin used to be in the same position you are in. For years she was overweight. She spend all twelve years in school being teased and ridiculed for her weight. Because of this, she because severely depressed. One day she got up, and decided to take a walk. After two weeks, she was up to talking two miles a day. A week later, she was walking three miles, while pushing two children in a stroller, and stopping on the park to play with them. She also changed her diet and ate much healthier than she did, but she didn't cut out her favorite foods, she found alternatives to everything. That was around four years ago. She lost around 20lbs and did a great job keeping them off.
In October of last year, she started playing DDR, and she's lost 40lbs. She looks great. She's gone from a size 24, to a size 18. Her current goal is to get to an size 14 by summer. She plays DDR for an hour, and has kept up a healthy diet. DDR is so much fun, I can play for hours without realizing how many calories I'm burning/how much I'm working out simply because it's so much fun. It's great, it really is.

AngelRoseUni So yeah, I went to the doctor today and after getting my height and weight and doing those tests she said that I was at risk for type 2 diabetes because of my 40 something BMI. she also said my body was starting to reject the insulin it makes, what can I do? I dont like to excercise and my sister constantly reminds me that i need excercise because of my weight because she's twig thin. I dont want to do anything about it but know i have to, is there anyone out there? I joined WeightWatchers and even though I am the youngest person there, it only took me about two weeks to lose 6 pounds! I highly reccommend it. If you don't like exersice try doing it without thinking about it. Go for a walk or play a dance video game or even go play a game outside or swim! It's a challenge. I purchased a few nutrition books to help me through. NO CAFFEINE (including diet sodas). It's horrible for your body and kills your metabolism. Not to mention that there is aspartaime in diet soda which can cause infertility! (It was actually turned down by the FDA 7 times) (Source: Skinny b***h/ Skinny b***h in the Kitch). I have gone almost completely vegetarian at this point, too. It's a huge life style change but it has made all the difference. You'll find energy you never thought you had, too! It's amazing. I bought my first pair of shorts since I was in elementary school this spring! I went from size 14 to 12 and I my goal is a 7-9 / 8-10! Keep at it. It isn't fun at first but I promise you'll wanna keep going with those results and you'll be much healthier as a result!
