--Rules--
-Follow all Guild and Gaia rules. This goes without saying. You lot have done this before, so I won't badger you with the noob stuff.

--Parameters--
-There are countless planes of existence within the Magic multiverse. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this idea, I've provided a description a few posts down. 3nodding The planes that we will be playing on are Lorwyn and Shadowmoor.
-There are five colors to align with. None of them are inherently good or bad, it all depends on the user. You can pick one or two colors, to keep it simple.
-This is not gonna be based on the card game itself exactly, it's just a fantasy roleplay set in the same universe as the story that goes with the cards. mrgreen
-You can have as many characters as you want. Just please keep up with them.
-If you want, you can use the names of actual cards when casting spells. Or, just make 'em up.
-The playable races are Elf, Goblin, Merfolk, Kithkin, Faerie, Giant, Elemental Spirit, and Treefolk.
-More to come as I think of them

--Background--

--Lorwyn--

Lorwyn is an idyllic, storybook world where races of fable thrive in perpetual midsummer. The plane is covered with dense forests, meandering rivers, and gently rolling meadows. The sun never quite dips below the horizon, and winter is entirely unknown.

That's not to say Lorwyn is without conflict. Its races have their struggles and skirmishes, some isolated, some long-standing. Lorwyn is one of the few planes without humans, but many other races fill in the gap. In the outlying town of Burrenton, for example, the short-statured kithkin face the encroachment of a nearby flamekin settlement. The flamekin are the race perhaps least at home in sunny Lorwyn. Their natural fires are a threat to others who are suspicious of their impulsive natures and hot tempers.

Far away in the Porringer Valley, gangs of boggarts sneak in amid groves of treefolk to make trouble and steal "souvenirs" of their trespasses. The boggarts are greedy for sensation, always seeking out new tastes, smells, and experiences. Each boggart warren visits others for their "footbottom feasts," a chance to share the experiences accumulated by other warrens.

As these squabbles continue, the merrows, the merfolk of Lorwyn's rivers, act as diplomats, couriers, and merchants for the other races. They use underground channels and wells as conduits for communication, and because the merrows are intelligent and kind, they usually end up getting the better end of the deal.

If the merrows are Lorwyn's merchants, the giants are its arbiters and advisors. The iconoclastic, territorial giants wander Lorwyn according to their own whims, only occasionally stopping to address the concerns or complaints of the little folk. The rest of the time they sleep or bicker among themselves.

Of all Lorwyn's denizens, though, the elves are both most favored and most feared. In a world of unspoiled nature and lush forest, the elves believe themselves to be the paragons of natural beauty. Signs of elvish supremacy are widespread in this world, from their gilded forest palaces to their mercilessness toward the other, "lesser" races. Despite the elves' domination, Lorwyn's people thrive through community and tradition, and perhaps with some help from an unseen power.

Faeries are ubiquitous in Lorwyn, like bees gathering pollen. Although the capricious and mischievous creatures seem to behave unpredictably, all are guided by the will of Oona, the queen of the fae. Oona's magic is said to keep Lorwyn in its midsummer state, but few have ever seen her. Her throne, Glen Elendra, is a half-mythical place that few but the fae have ever seen.

Lorwyn is ancient and verdant, and its natural processes are locked in familiar cycles. For instance, every year for countless decades, the kithkin town of Kinsbaile has hosted the Festival of Tales, a gathering to tell stories and make merry before the Aurora, an annually occurring display of lights in the sunset sky. But some auroras are greater than others. On a long cycle that only the faerie queen Oona comprehends, an aurora can bring about a total transformation of the plane of Lorwyn. Afterward, what remains is the plane of Shadowmoor, a realm of eternal dusk.

--Shadowmoor--

Shadowmoor is a plane of perpetual dusk where the sun never rises, and where strange light seems to come from unseen sources. This plane is Lorwyn's opposite. Lorwyn is an idyllic midsummer, but Shadowmoor is trapped in a state of crepuscular gloom. Lorwyn's races skirmish over territory and property, but Shadowmoor's races are locked in a perpetual, life-and-death struggle for survival.

Like Lorwyn, Shadowmoor is devoid of humans. Lorwyn's many other races, however, persist in Shadowmoor...but like the plane itself, they too are transformed into darker versions of themselves.

The kithkin, once communal and cooperative, are isolated and xenophobic in Shadowmoor. They live within walled towns, shunning outsiders and attacking those who get too close. The once silver-tongued merrows are assassins and saboteurs in Shadowmoor. They use the waterways to move quickly from victim to victim, always ready to drown and loot land-dwellers. Likewise the boggarts, once mischievous and hedonistic, are in Shadowmoor vicious and warlike. Their interests have turned from curiosity to pillage, and from stealing pies to stealing babies.

The larger denizens of the world, the giants and treefolk, find themselves changed as well. The treefolk of Shadowmoor are blackened, blighted, murderous creatures. And when awakened from the long hibernations, the giants are terrible, wrathful beings that carry huge pieces of the land itself on their bodies.

The transformation of the flamekin is perhaps the most dramatic—and tragic. Once their fires burned bright, but now they are extinguished, reduced to skeletal, smoking husks called the cinders. In Lorwyn they sought emotional transcendence, but in Shadowmoor they seek only to satisfy their malevolence and need for revenge.

The imperious and vain elves of Lorwyn find themselves humbled but heroic in Shadowmoor. Whereas Lorwyn's elves sought to judge and subjugate others, Shadowmoor's elves are the world's last hope—seekers and protectors of beauty and light in a dark, ugly place.

Only one race and one place remain unchanged when the Great Aurora turns Lorwyn into Shadowmoor: the faeries and their home of Glen Elendra. The fae are the fulcrum of this transforming plane, for it was their queen, Oona, who created the Aurora.

There was a time when Lorwyn had annual seasons and was "in balance." It was Oona who sought more influence and control over the world. From her secret glen, she wove countless powerful spells into a web of magic that would grant her more power over Lorwyn. But as Oona's enchantments on the plane grew more complex, the world was thrown out of balance. The very nature of the plane's denizens, objects, and places began to split; they developed "Jekyll and Hyde" existences.

Rather than risk losing her control of Lorwyn, Oona created ever more powerful glamers to stabilize the plane. Eventually she accomplished her goal. Lorwyn's fluctuating states fell into a regular interval of long, bright, warm summers, and long, dim, creepy autumns. The costs to the plane were substantial, however. First, each interval lasted for almost three centuries. Second, on each change from the Lorwyn to Shadowmoor state, the plane's denizens lost all awareness of their previous existence.

--Story so far--

Mourner Bladecaster, a powerful Planeswalker, wielding all five mana colors with equally terrifying prowess, has found his way to this plane, and sought out the reality-bending power of the Aurora, and annual event in this plane that normally passes without incident. However, once every few years the Aurora warps Lorwyn to a twisted shadow of itself. This Planeswalker has discovered the pattern of the cycle, and is about to reproduce the event that creates Shadowmoor.

-------------------------------------------
--Mourner's Camp--

Gaia Name: Silas Parrish
Character Name: Mourner Bladecaster
Primary Mana Alignment: All
Secondary Mana Alignment: All
Appearance: Humanoid. Tall, wide, and imposing. His physique is almost as terrifying as his usage of mana. wears a heavy suit of black armor, most of the plating hidden by his robes. His head remains uncovered, and waist-length raven hair falls across his back and shoulders. His pitiless face is hidden by a short, sharply kept beard. His eyes constantly shift between the five colors of mana, and no readable expression ever crosses them.
Character History: Unknown-- Mourner is not from this plane.
Race: Unknown
Personality: Cold, calculation, and nihilistic. His outlook on all that exists is one of ruthless, detached curiosity, and nothing more. Everything is expendable to this heartless planeswalker in the pursuit of his ends. Life is worthless to him, so he kills his opposition indiscriminately.
Motives: To control the Aurora
Additional: Does not require sustenance or elimination...his body functions on mana flow alone. He also carries quite a few magical artifacts to aid him in his bid to subvert Lorwyn, including a Disrupting Scepter for thwarting an enemy's spells, a legendary blade known as The Sword of Body and Mind, the Heartseeker, a replica of the Phryxian's Contagion Engine, an Unscythe, Killer of Kings, and many others. -------------------------------------------

Gaia Name: Strider the Eternal
Character Name: Geblin Grecklefang
Primary Mana Alignment: Red
Secondary Mana Alignment: None
Appearance: Geblin is a very tall goblin due to his experiences in the planes. He is very intellegent but still speaks like any goblin. He is tall, broad, green skinned, red and yellow eyed, and with long strong arms. He stands much like any goblin, hunched over, but is as tall as an elf even hunched. He wears a tattered red robe, and rough leather boots. If he wasn't so powerful he could pass as an abnormal goblin of Lorwynn.
Character History: Unknown- (Edit by Silas: I don't want anyone to be from outside planes but Mourner for now, 'kay? It'll just make things less complicated.)
Race: Goblin
Personality: Geblin is cold and cruel and unlike most goblins tactical and calculating on top of clever. He has had a life long journey to become immortal just as the elves of his former plane to rub in their faces that even a goblin could be immortal so he has deep seeded hatred for all elves and forests.
Motives: Immortality and the destruction of all Elves.
Additional: Geblin carries a Flame Shrieker, Fists of anvil, and a Granite Shard. Geblin is a master spell caster of flame spells.

-------------------------------------------

Gaia Name: Orcus Fieres
Character Name: Orcus D. Fieres
Primary Mana Alignment: Black
Secondary Mana Alignment: None (because it would take away from his black mana training)
Appearance: Orcus is a tall, dark elf with back-pointing ears and bright red eyes. He wears a long cloak (with a hood in the back) that’s well decorated in the front with buttons and strap that come across horizontally. His long hair is jet black and is almost always pinched behind his long ears. He wears pants under his cloak that reach, perfectly, just below his ankle. Orcus uses a long-bladed halberd as a weapon and an instrument to help cast his magics.
Character History: Orcus was born blind and was quickly dropped off at what would be considered and orphanage. He was picked up by a Black Planeswalker (Did I use that right?) that taught him the ways of his art. Orcus caught on quickly and reached a point in his life where his adopted father could not teach him anything more. Orcus thanked his father and set off to keep learning. Eventually he found the world to be as dark and wretched as he saw it (pun on him being blind and all) and so quit socializing to be a hermit. Once he found out that there was finally a way of ending the ridiculous tribe of elves that he was related to, and that his adopted father had died, he happily joined Mourner Bladecaster.
Race: Elf
Personality: Orcus isn’t angry but he doesn’t care very much for the world beyond. He just cares to finally end those who made him suffer. He takes good care of those that aid him, just as he aided his father monetarily (through acts of thievery) during his life.
Motives: Aids Mourner to help end the elven ego.
Additional: Weapons include his halberd, Belial (mentioned in appearance) and a long knife (or short dagger). He uses his hearing to detect enemies and usually has a few skeletons at his side.

-------------------------------------------

Gaia Name: Mr_BlueCamo
Character Name: Rha Servada
Primary Mana Alignment: Blue
Secondary Mana Alignment: Black
Appearance: likea this.
Character History: Rha was born in the murky depths of Shadowmoor where she was taught to kill, steal, and do anything to survive. Now that she is an adult merfolk she survive by taking assassination missions and just plain out kills anyone that she sees as helpless scum. She is now currently under the employ of Mourner, and as long as he fulfills his end of the bargain she will continue to work for him out of the sense of getting paid and just for the plain ol pleasure of killing.
Race: Merfolk
Personality: Mean, spiteful, and deceitful. She especially hates all the good willed creatures of the planes, and has a mean grudge with the Elves of Lorwyn since they have been a hindrance of hers.
Motives: Servant of Mourner
Additional: Uses blue and black magic to deceive and destroy but also uses a wrist blade for assassinations. For a more upfront battle she uses a kris sword.

-------------------------------------------

Gaia Name: Mr_BlueCamo
Character Name: Morlock
Primary Mana Alignment: Black
Secondary Mana Alignment: Green
Appearance: likea this.
Character History: Morlock is a tough old tree that will kill anything that he wants to. Since Mourner has appeared and is wanting to cover the planes with darkness Morlock is more then willing to help out.
Race: Treefolk
Personality: Crabby and hateful. Morlock hates all good nature things an wants nothing more then to kill them.
Motives: Servant of Mourner
Additional: He uses black and green magic spells on his enemies and twists the nature around him to turn dark and use on his enemies.

-------------------------------------------

--Lorwyn's Allies--

Gaia Name: Strider the Eternal
Character Name: The Gatekeeper
Primary Mana Alignment: White
Secondary Mana Alignment: Black
Appearance: The Gatekeeper is in the shape of an elf but his original body has been replaced with a solid stone and earth body. It has the same complexion as any normal elf but is made of stone, thus is the price for being a senior Gate Keeper. He has green glowing eyes though, a testament to the green mana holding his body together, though the mana he uses is white and black. He wears trailblazer boots, slagwurm armor (this includes pants, chest plate, and gauntlets), a whispersilk cloak, and a hood that casts a shadow over his face so only his mouth is visible at most times.
Character History: The Gatekeeper is an ancient elf turned into elemental. He is part of an elite group of a society known simply as The Gate Keepers. Their main function is as police, military leaders, and most importantly gate keepers. Gatekeeper is the the leader of this group and as such protects the front gate with his un-naturally long life, even for an elf. He is from a totally different plane of existence than Lorwynn or Shadowmoor but is instead from a plane where elves are not immortal and powerful, they have magic but so do humans and every other race. The majority of his past was lost in the secrecy of The Gate Keepers and in just the deterioration of time. Gatekeeper himself doesn't remember his own name. He is old, he is fast, and he is powerful. The truth of who he is and the powers of a gate keeper shall be unfolded just like an onion. One layer at a time.
Race: Elemental
Personality: He is quiet, strategic, and cool-headed. He has no need of companions and seems to shun them but when need arises he is always ready for the challenge. He is an advent believer in justice and freedom, though he rarely shares his views, and would help anyone in need. He is constantly curious of each new generation that seems to grow so quickly he can't keep up. In this way he is alone due to his age and it shows in his dealings with younger races and generations. He prefers to speak ancient elvish though is fluent in at least four other dialects.
Motives: He is a defender of all that is just so therefore is a defender of Lorwynn.
Additional: He constantly carries an arsenal of weapons, explosives, equipment, and supplies. He carries a Bone splitter axe, a no daichi sword, and several unique weapons such as Tatsumasa, the Dragon's Fang, Deathrender, and, now no one knows how he got it and it's mostly rumors, The Sword of Kaldra. Not to mention countless other items. He has no need of sustenance because of his body and has a unique understanding of most forms of martial and weapons combat.

Race: Faerie
Personality: Warm, friendly, and likable. Strives to be the best and kindest person she can, every moment of every day, and is always looking to see the good in everything. She always finds it, in the end. Relies on mostly defensive magic, and summons powerful angels, soldiers, and samurai to aid her in combat.
Motives: Defender of Lorwyn

Motives: Defender
Additional: She's traveled quite extensively so she doesn't have the same disdain for the other races as most elves have, but she's extremely proud of her lineage.

Her primary weapon is a sword though she also carries a bow and arrows. She's also fairly proficient in spells of various types.

-------------------------------------------

Gaia Name: Strider the Eternal

She wears a pair of Trailblazer boots, brown leather armor (this includes a leather shirt, pants, and gauntlets), a green cloak, and a necklace given to her by her late mother.
Character History: Karisa has been living in the maw of poverty for as long as she can remember inside of the three tiered city known as Korso, the Elf capital in Lorwynn. Karisa lost her parents, her father before she was born, and her mother when she was 11. She was then quickly put to work in her family's business selling and buying trinkets. The shop has fallen into debt though due to her father and mothers debts from before. She had been attending a school for the magically gifted before her mother's death to become a druid but then she quickly turned to flame magic to rebel against the teachers she didn't like, so she was expelled. Now she plans to escape her forest prison and travel across the map in search of a new way of life. Unaware of the perils she is getting herself into.
Race: Elf
Personality: Karisa is young, energetic, and spontaneous. She is quick to action and to anger but she is also caring and compassionate. She helps small animals out of trees and bugs from pools of water and younger children then she. A regular spit-fire but very strong willed and stubborn, bull-headed even. Once she gets something into her head she does it no matter the cost.
Motives: She is very usually at the wrong place at the wrong time but would protect Lorwynn with her life.
Additional: She has only a light sword and her Fyndhorn bow. She is very emotional and sometimes over reacts.

--Races--

Elf
Color: Green, sometimes Black or both.
Habitat: Forests
Style: Strength in numerous allies, using the mana flow of nature itself as a weapon.
Description: They are often described as a human with pointed ears and the magic that comes to them naturally. Elves often work best when working with others, though they do not necessarily need to work with other elves to be at their peak. Their zealous protection of the forests they live in is widely known as one of the most fundamentally natural concepts, and invading their forests could be the last thing that should be done. Sometimes seen to be quite satyr-like, with horns and hooves.

Goblin
Color: Black, Red or sometimes both.
Habitat: Mountains
Style: Strength in numbers; fast, sometimes suicidal charges.
Description: Typical goblins are small, with pointed ears, elongated noses, and green skin. Though most are quite dim-witted, there are some exceptions such as Slobad from the Mirrodin plane, Squee, lookout of the Weatherlight and the Kyren goblins native to Mercadia.

Merfolk
Color: Blue, sometimes White or both.
Habitat: Islands
Style: Channeling and weaponizing both air and sea mana, turning an enemies strengths against him.
Description: The merfolk of Lorwyn are an aquatic species who have long, almost eel-like bodies, humanoid faces and arms, and spinelike protrusions at the shoulders. Their scales form multicolored patterns and they are capable of changing colors and patterns at will. Traditionally, they slither on the ground when not in water.

Kithkin
Color: White, sometimes Green
Habitat: Plains
Style: Quick sneak attacks, both in physical warfare and magical
Description: A quick and agile humanoid or elf-like species, which used to live in Amrou Haven. As of Lorwyn, not much has been detailed about the physical makeup of Kithkin. For that matter, aside from their love of telling tales, not much is known about them at all.

Faerie
Color: Blue, sometimes White, sometimes Black, sometimes two of the three.
Habitat: Islands or Plains
Style: Varies from foe to foe. Very versatile users of mana.
Description: Small, winged humanoid creatures with mastery of the air and all the magic involved. Usually have blue skin.

Giant
Color: Red, sometimes White
Habitat: Mountains or Plains
Style: Overwhelming brute strength.
Description: Strikingly large humanoid creatures. Giants were one of the 8 tribes in lorwyn. With no true leader to unite under the giants of lorwyn roam free in the planes. They herd the cloud goats and react violently if disturbed.

Elemental
Color: Any one color
Habitat: Anywhere
Style: Any
Description: Varies

Treefolk
Color: Green, sometimes Black, sometimes White.
Habitat: Swamps
Style: Much like the elves, treefolk use nature as a weapon, but in a much more brutal method.
Description: Sentient trees that live for centuries in Dominaria's forests. They are often seen as the protectors and guardians of their homes. There seems to be a type for treefolk for every form of tree that might possibly exist, from mighty Redwood to Rowan. Compared often to Tolkein's Ents.

It almost seemed like a dream to him sometimes, his life. Fading from one day to the next, always the same thing the same way. Most days it was sunny, surreal, and peaceful; as if the land was young and fresh, though he knew it wasn't true. Today though it was raining a solemn, steady rain. Very rarely were there any large storms in Lorwynn, though he had experienced them before. He could remember much as he stood there in front of the gate, not many travelers came to Korso during a rain. Today he was remembering the greatest fight he had ever had, a good one, but a dark one. He was pleasantly enjoying the soft patter of rain upon him when the silence was broken by some group of goblins on wolves. They rode their hounds near to the center.

"Gatekeeper! Out of the way. We come to speak with your leader. We gonna make him parley. Even with no papers." The lead goblin announced.

Gatekeeper stood up for Gatekeeper was his name. For he was so old not even he knew his name. "Do you have the correct papers?" His speech was slow and deliberate, as if he had trouble forming the words, but his voice was dominant and strong.

The goblin sneered, knowing that he may not be allowed inside. "No, we have no papers. We come to make parley. Do I need papers to make agreement?"

"If you do not have the papers then you shall not be allowed inside. Go back to your home and write to the Elven Council, they can translate your writing well enough." Gatekeeper now allowed his eyes to be seen by the goblins but only for a moment. They were blazing green, standing out like a green apple among red ones, and they were confident.

The goblin sneered in anger. "I shall not go, I shall trample you and make you move!"

"If you shall not go then I shall be forced to make you." Gatekeeper drew his Bonespliter axe. The elongated handle made it perfect for taking on mounted enemies.

The goblin's face contorted with anger and he shrieked. "Tear him apart and feed him to the wolves!." So now two of the four riders came at Gatekeeper.

Gatekeeper swung around his axe and felled the wolf carrying one and spun to dodge the second rider's blade. He drew a razor boomerang and let it fly towards the second rider, hitting the rider. When the rider fell from his hound the reins caught and the wolf veered left, falling off the bridge into the chasm below, and their deaths. The first rider stood back up but was quickly cut down with Gatekeeper's axe. The last two riders fled, cursing Gatekeeper in their native tongue. Gatekeeper went over to the corpses and rolled them off quite unceremoniously. Then he re-took his position.

Karisa had been preparing for this a long time. To travel abroad was the last resort for her and she had no options left. She had her bag packed with maps, food, clothing, blankets, and a few other useful items. She had her sword at he side and he bow on her back. She was ready. He trinket store, which had been in her family for generations it is said, had gone under. So to become a better trinket maker she decided to travel abroad. Now she stepped outside the door, ready for whatever lay ahead.

Mourner Bladecaster exhaled deeply as the plane of Lorwyn took shape around him. Another day, another world to conquer. This world's mana was much the same as that which he had used most recently, so it took no effort at all to forge a connection with Lorwyn's lands. Swamps, plains, mountains, forests and even the islands themselves were now under the powerful mage's control, ripe for the harvest of their precious mana. Mourner looked around himself in a circle, taking quick stock of the plains he had arrived in. He could sense another planeswalker spark or two nearby, but felt no need to challenge them. In fact, Mourner Bladecaster could feel very little at all. Emotions were a weakness he had expunged long ago.
How boring, he thought to himself.
He put his hand forth, and channeled a bit of red and green mana to summon a creature. A Nacatl outlander materialized, stolen from its home plane. Mourner kept a prison camp or two in operation in every plane he visited, for the sole purpose of summoning. The catlike scout's eyes widened at the sight of Mourner. It remembered its last encounter with the planeswalker, and did not wish to repeat the incident.
"I've given you an aura to shield you from the blue mana here, as I sense Blue Planeswalkers nearby. Go and scout this area. Report back to me the instant you've seen all of the surrounding ten square miles," he commanded lazily.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 03, 2011 4:52 pm
Geblin materialized in a red flame beside Mourner. "Ahhh, this be that new one, eh? Much to burn, much to make ashes. What it called Mourner? Larwyon, Larynn, my mind plays tricks." Geblin, though seemingly like any other goblin, was a planeswalker. He was intellegent despite his speech.

Eternity Bloodkeeper's head turned in an instant as she caught a mystical wind. Something dark had worked its way into Lorwyn. She panicked for an instant as she realized the presence reminded her of the foreboding that gripped her when Shadowmoor forced itself upon the land. She returned to her previous calm when she remembered that the darkness only came with the Aurora. Her fear was not enough to discourage her, so she forged ahead to find the source of the dark ripples in Lorwyn's mana pool. She tightened her grip on her staff as a second ripple followed the first. Less frightening, and less powerful than the first, but still foreign to Lorwyn, and still apparently threatening. She half-walked, half-ran all the way to the epicenter of the strange power, and was met with the sight of two figures standing in the field, not far from her. A goblin accompanied what appeared to be an elf or a human.

Geblin sniffed the air. "Hmmm, I smell magic." Geblin turned to see a faerie. "Oh, a tiny little flyer. These the Aurora makers, hmmm? Come here little faerie, Geblin will make you tell him where it is." Geblin motioned with a finger for the faerie to come closer.

Eternity held her ground, and began to store a bit of mana from the nearby plains.
"I hope you like what I've got for you! Two Walls of Hope!" With that, she summoned a menagerie of healing spirits to surround her in two swirling firmaments, sealing her from the outside world and offensive magic, to a degree.
"I want no quarrel with either of you. What do you want? Why have you come?" she called out to the goblin. White magic coursed and curled in ethereal rivers and tendrils around her hands, flowing between each digit, and positively vibrating as it awaited use.

"Oooo, little fae play tricks, play tricks on wrong goblin perhaps." Geblin made a hand geasture and pointed his palm towards the faerie and a powerful lightning bolt shot forth.

Karisa had made it to the gate when she realized that if she wanted out she'd have to get past..."Gatekeeper. Oh boy, I forgot about that. If i leave he'll try and stop me. Grr." She bit her nail and stompped. Then an idea came to her. if she was really quiet he wouldn't notice her until she came up to him and then she'd make a dash for it. She opened the gate and quickly shut it without any notice. She could see him standing at his usual spot in the middle of the bridge. Then Karisa crept along the side as quietly as she could but when she was a few feet from the silent gate keeper he turned towards her in curiousity. "Umm, hello. Yes, I have some papers here for you. yeah." She went towards him and took off her pack. By now she was merely winging it. "I know it was some where in here. She looked up to see what his expression was but it was just a blank expression, but those eyes...she shook her head and went back to the pack and then had an idea. She went for a blanket. "Maybeh it's under here." Then in a seamless motion she threw the blanket out on to Gatekeeper and ran as fast as she could towards the opposite end of the bridge.

Gatekeeper threw off the blanket in frustration and impatience and ran after the young elf. He seemed suddenly invigorated and was going to enjoy himself. He even wore a plain smile. It's been a long time since any elf had been bold enough to attempt escape and certainly not one so high spirited.

Orcus was sitting on an old stump with his legs crossed and his halberd, Belial leaning against his left shoulder. Suddenly Orcus' ear twitched and he slowly turned his head to the left. He felt that there was something going on in the far plains to the east. He was not one to get involved in what happened in this world. In fact he did't very much care for any of it but he decided to stand himself up and walk to the origin of the problem.

The bog he was staying in for the while was the division between the plains and the swamps so it didn't take him long to get there. Once he reached the plains he slowed so his ears and sense of mana could guide him to the origin. Eventually he noticed he was near a large man, almost as tall as him but far stronger in muscle. He then turned to face a Goblin that was to the mans left. They seemed interested in a smaller mana pool far to the south.

Orcus kept moving to the east, to where he could feel a smooth boulder and sat on it. He 'stared' at the mana pools, waiting for them to do something that would fill his otherwise boring life. He spoke softly to himself when the Goblin used mana. "Red."
