If you were married (same-sex or cross-sex), would you take the last name of your spouse? If so, why? If not, why?
Me: I would. I just like the idea that we are both Mr. [insert-last-name-of-future-husband], instead of two different people. I view the sharing of a last name as a sense of connection. However, if my future husband would not prefer to do so, then I won't force it.

Hmmmm... Well I wouldn't because I want my future wife to take my last name 3nodding . However, if she doesn't want to, then I wouldn't force it on her. 3nodding

I would. 8D The guy I currently like/kinda with, well...we have the same first name. So if we did end up getting married, then we'd have the same name. XD It's silly, I know.
Either way, since I was like, eleven, I've always dreamt of getting married. So taking their last name just seems reasonable. 3nodding

I don't know. Preferrably not. Whilst I would feel devoted to a woman, and it would be sensible to take her name, I would still like to feel like an individual in the marriage. Plus my first name doesn’t really sound good with a last name other than the one I do now to me. (Brushes by Obsidian Dawn)

If I end up with a man, I will take his name. It has such a strong appeal to it, I don't know why. Maybe because I'm somewhat submissive towards men, and it's like I'm giving myself over to him.
But if I end up with a woman, I would prefer her to take my name. For the same reason, really. With females, I'm the dominant one. Also, my last name is Grace, so there is a good chance that it'll sound nice, whatever her first name is.

i plan opn taking my fiance's last name. henderson is so common and there are so many people with my exact name, there are even others with my middle name. my sister has had a teacher with our last name xd
my fiance's last name is so rare that he and his family are the only ones in the country with that name. its a polish name and it sounds so neat. i cant wait to take his name
and then my initials will be rp, or rap depending on if i use my middle name mrgreen

I definitely don't want to be stuck with my last name forever. My parents might be mad, since I have a straight sister who will also take the name of her husband (if she gets married), and no one will be able to pass down the family name, but realistically I have eight cousins on my dad's side. Someone's going to pass down the name. lol

My cousin and are the last remnants of our family name. My Cousin is female so therefore it's lost, that leaves it to me.
Good thing i have a hatred for marriage, I've always liked the idea of a single parent with an adopted child though. Maybe i'll adopt and change their name >:]
I don't think i'd change my last name. Not willingly.

I actually love my unique last name, so no. I never really thought about it, though. If it came down to it, I might consider a hyphenated name. I am more concerned about the last name of our kids (something I do want to have). Finally, if he wanted to take my name, I'd really have no problem with it.

I'm not sure. Though I love my last name, nobody can ever spell it or pronounce it... Kieltyka.

I dislike my last name because I was bullied over it. If I ever do marry my girlfriend I want her name. Up to her though. She said she'd take mine. Eh, we'll decide later on.

I am in the same boat as others, we both have the same first name, so it would get a little confusing. If I did do it though, we would double barrel it, so we have our own name last and the others first.
