hey everyone so i have allergies. i am allergic to pollen and grass and basically the outside as well as dust and most pets. most of the year i have congestion, watery itchy eyes, itchy throat, coughing and sneezing to deal with as symptoms. naturally, i have been looking for relief from these symptoms in allergy medication, but lately nothing has been working for me. i was wondering if anyone could reccomend something for me to take in order to relieve my allergy symptons. i have tryed clariton both chewables and pills you swallow and neither of them work for me. i've tried arius and reactin but those didn't work either. i can sometimes get the arius to work if i tke double the dosage but it still takes around an hour for it to set in. i realise that this is bad so i am looking for something that i can take that will work at the proper dosage.
can anyone help me?

Benadryl, Claritin (the disolvable ones, chewables and the ones you swallow don't work for me), or Rhinocort? The first two can be bought over the counter, but the third one is a prescription, I think. I have taken them all, the Claritin is okay, Benadryl works pretty well if I take 50mg of it, and the Rhinocort is okay, but it makes my nose feel weird. x_x
The side effects of the Claritin disolvables are the same as the other forms of Claritin. The thing with Claritin pills is that you have to take them consecutively, every day, for at least 30 days for you to get the full effect of having them in your system, with the dissolvables and chewables it isn't that way. Benadryl may cause drowsiness, and it actually makes most people I know (who take it) fall asleep, except myself... for some reason. Rhinocort is strong and since you have to inhale it in through your nose, it can cause nose bleeds, so if you are prone to them or have thin blood (free bleeder), you may want to talk it over well with your doctor first.
There are some others as well. A visit with your doctor could help you out quite a bit. Just tell them how bad the allergies are and let them know about the medicines you have tried and how well the did (or didn't) work.

Another thing we tend to do over here, and often it helps, is to have at least a tablespoon of honey everyday; but not just any honey, make sure it's stuff that has been made locally. :3
