Ok so my sister wants me on birth control. I have no idea why she won't just let it go - I don't have a boyfriend, the only males that think I'm even so much as cute live 100s of miles away, I'm not having sex, I don't want to have sex, but despite all of the above she still wants me on it "in case something happens." My mom agrees with her. She was sexually active at my age (13 - she's 23 now) as were lots of her friends so I can see why it would be a reasonable concern to her and I'm done trying to convince her I don't need it because I've tried all I can think of. But that's not the point. xD
What do you girls think would be the safest/most effective form of (constant) birth control for girls my age? My sister wants me on that implant they put in your arm, I want to just take the pill, but I want to know what you girls think.

Abstinence is the absolute safest and most effect form of birth control. You shouldn't be having sex unless you are ready to take responsibility if you end up part of that 1% the 99% effectiveness of pills/implants/IUD doesn't cover.

But if you insist on running around and doing the nasty before you've reach the legal age of consent, my advice would be an implant or IUD, IF you find a doctor willing to give them to someone so young. At your age and with a hectic school schedule, it's easy to forget something like the pill and accidentally miss a dose and then WHOOPS! Hello Mr. Stork.

And don 't forget condoms! Hormonal birth control methods are not an excuse for the boys to go around without protective wrapping unless you want the ever pleasant STD.

I would just like to point out to you that Nicoler specifies that she isn't sexually active: her sister and mother are just trying to keep her safe. You seem to be under the impression that she wants this for herself.

Anyways, condoms, the pill, and such things are the usual route. You should talk to your doctor, if anyone, because she'll be able to give you the best advice.

Did you even read her post? o.O

Anyways, just talk to your doctor. He/she will know what's best for you and will be able to talk with you about all of the different options. It sucks that they're pushing this on you, but they are just looking out for you. Just make sure that they know all of the side effects that it can have, etc, so that they will be able to help you tell if you are having a reaction to it. ^^
