It may sound bad, but they don't have names. My family has had chickens 3 times now, these are the only ones without names, yet they are probably the best lot. I mean, they were meant to have names, but we lost track of who was who, and who was named what, so now we just refer to them as 'the girls'.
We got them months ago, from a produce place. They're basically the rejects, the chickens that didn't make the cut as meat chickens (Hope they didn't have any dreams of getting on a KFC ad
xd ). But they are awesome at laying eggs, we get about 4 a day, so they're all laying, even in this past winter we had. But only if we feed them the food they like, with scraps every few days, and some cooked rice, at least once a week. And the fact that they have the run of the entire 1/2 - 2/3 of the back yard all day and all night (It's a safe yard, with safe fencing, in a safe area. And they do have a pen to sleep in, but they let themselves in and out as they please.
3 of them like scratches from me, the other one is scared of me... because one day I was walking in the pen, thought that the chicken was a bucket or something( had closed in shoes and couldn't feel the feathers, the chicken also made no noise). Looked back after that, saw the poor chicken...
If they're hungry, they'll jump up to the windows and start pecking. I've woken up to pecking at my window before lol. Also, it can be hard to feed them their food at times. Like this morning, I got the first scoop, and was going to go drop it where they usually eat. They made a chicken wall, and if I stepped to the left, they did to, stepped to the right, guess where they stepped? I swear they were trying to gang up on me and get me to drop the food.
Anyway, heres the photos, sorry for not introducing my girlies sooner. Kind of just forgot... Sorry about the size. I resized them on photobucket. But technology is out to get me today.
^Our fridge is more full of eggs then that the moment lol
