Laurence & Lucinda Sterling

Laurence Sterling was pacing back and forth across his bedroom, agitated again at having been unsuccessful at finding a new hobby. He had just come back from a martial arts dojo, where he had enjoyed sparring the teacher, but had had too easy a time. It was his fifth failed attempt at finding a hobby. Before, he'd tried chess club, which was too easy, he'd tried book club, where the reads were too easy, he'd tried collecting ancient artifacts, which had been too easy due to his excessive riches, and he'd tried sports, which he hated. Now it was time for something new, and he could only hope that this would work out. Laurence's final attempt was to own a human, something which had not considered until the other day when a middle school friend had suggested investing in human stock.

Lucinda Sterling was currently out shopping for pet collars and leashes, which a book on slave keeping had suggested. Personally, she felt it was rather dumb to refer to a book when you could simply do what you wanted to do with the human, but Laurence had told her that it was best to be prepared anyway. Even if they didn't need it, she figured Laurence was right, as per usual. Now she browsed the merchandise and made her selection.

Nezumi Koyugi

A burly guard escorted a weak looking female girl clad in a black fetid kimono, slowly tearing to pieces, with her long blue matted hair tied in two braids that touched the floor. As they arrived the guard stepped onto the porch but when the girl refused to step onto it he sharply pulled on the leash that connected to her collar causing her to trip over onto the porch and land with a loud thud. "Get up you vermin!"The guard shouted as he tugged on the leash trying to get the girl to stand. A scrawny man in a white business suit came jogging behind them, "Oh leave the poor thing alone can't you see she can't stnd."He said as he stopped at the door and briefly fixed his glasses and skimmed through a stack of papers before knocking on the door. "Hello!?"The scrawny man called. "We brought your.. um.. package!" The girl glanced up at the door, what lie behind it? A man with cold eyes that greadily stared at her, checking for any little bits that he did not find suit his fancy or a kind face with gentle hands that would be leant out to help anyone. When the guard began to yell at her again she averted her gaze to the ground, but kept thinking of what's behidn the door of the house.

Laurence stopped pacing and stood a moment. When he heard the racket outside, he left his bedroom and went down the stairs. Irritated already, the yelling that he heard when he opened the door put Laurence into an even worse mood. "Thank you for the delivery," he growled. He ripped the leash out of the guard's hand and pulled the slave roughly inside. Sending her behind him, he looked back outside to the guards whether he had already paid for the slave or had to now.

The scrawny man stared at the man as he pulled the slave in behind him, "My my.. I guess theres another regular on the list.."He muttered. "Sirr wait, I have some papers for you to sign."He said holding out the papers and a pen. The girl squeaked when she was suddenly pulled into the house, practically being dragged with the already torn bottom of her clothing dragging across the rough ground then the rather rougher carpet. She grabbed hodl of the leash, trying her best ot keep herself from getting chocked by her collar. The scrawny man stepped after him, "If you will be give a moment of your time to sign these."He said. "You will only the to sign two spots on the front page and the rest is just files on the salve, health, previous masters, abilities etc."
(( I guess. And if I have any spelling mistakes dont worry or tell me about it. I normally don't have many spelling errors but there are words that I can't spell and my grammar check thingy doesn't seem to be wanting to work. ))

Laurence took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He knew he was just angry because of his frustration earlier, not because of these people who just arrived. At the tugging on the leash, Laurence loosened his grip quickly, realizing he was probably choking his slave. "My apologies," he said to the girl, before turning and signing the papers as instructed. He took the papers that the man had shown him about the slave and shut the door.

Now Laurence turned back to the girl and studied her. He was amazed by her long white hair and her blue eyes. They were odd, but they held beauty in them. She looked about his age, and was probably about 5 ft or so. He noticed the pretty flower design on her clothes, though, seeing that the bottom was ripped, he gestured for her to follow him upstairs. "Would you like to get a change of clothing?" he asked, "There's a wardrobe of them in your bedroom if you would like. Or we can get food if you wish."

Lucinda finally entered check out and paid for what she had gotten, then she drove home in her Bugatti Veyron, a sports car she had won in a bet when she went to a car race one time.

Once the man had let go of the collar she slumped down and got onto her knees, rubbing at her neck. She looked up at him as he studied her, the faded flower designs of her kimono that had once been so beautiful til the years of cages and neglect practically washed them away, to her long matted yet double braided hair taht lay in small piles on the floor and when he looked at her it seemed he was staring into her eyes. She adverted her gaze form him and looked to the floor, a soft almot unnoticeable red color appearing on her slightly pale cheeks.
The girl glanced back up at the man when he made a gesture then went to the stairs. She wasn't at all sure if she should follow him, but by the way she was taught you don't question and just go. She stood herself up on weak thin legs that threatened to cave in on her with every step. When she got to thw stairs she looked down at them then back up as if wondering if she would be able to make it, but nonetheless she followed even though she felt too weak to even take another step.
"C-could I have some water..?"The girl spoke, answering the mans question. Her voice was gentle and sweet, almost like a finely tuned bell with the ringer in it cased in a soft, fluffy fabric. The people at the warehouse didn't really care about the hygein of the slave or even feeding or giving them water.

Laurence frowned and turned around when he realized that he was being followed. When he saw how weak the girl was, he immediately came back down the stairs and put an arm around her for support. Trying to comfort her, Laurence said, "You'll be alright. Why don't you sit down on this couch over here, and I will go get you a drink," he led her over to the couch, then went into the kitchen. He was surprised by her obviously poor condition, as he would have thought that the slave traders would want to keep merchandise in good condition so they could fetch a higher price. It was annoying, actually, because now he would have to worry about it.

Laurence returned to where he had left the girl and sat down beside her. He handed her the water, then it occurred to him how little he knew about her. He waited until she was done drinking before saying, "In our hurry, I complete forgot to introduce myself. I'm Laurence, though you'll call me master.Who might you be?"

The girl made no movement, nor any attempt to escape as the man put an arm around her and helped her over to a couch. She looked at him then at the ground, "T-thank you.."She said politely. When the man left to go fetch her water she shifted around on the couch, looking up to glance around the area before she averted her gaze back to the ground. The girl began to wonder what would become of herself in this new place under new ownership, from what she has seen from past masters they were all the same, but this man seemed nicer than all the rest, though, who knows if the man would change.
The sound of foot steps caught the girls attention and she looked up to see the man returning with her water. She took the glass from him and brought it to her lips, gingerly sipping it. The water tasted good. How long exactly had it been since she last had a taste of the sparkling, life giving liquid? She could hardly care now that she had some. She now had downed most of it in just a short amount of time and stopped to breath adn answer the mans question. "My names Nezumi. Nezumi Koyugi.."The girl spoke softly. "Since my name means 'Rat' most masters have just called me rat or rodent.."

Laurence watched Nezumi carefully, noting what he could about her. He found it interesting that her name meant Rat, but also wondered whether being named Rat was a good thing. "Do you prefer Nezumi, or Rat?" he asked.

Nezumi sat the glass down and looked at her lap, "Well I've never really been called by my real name.. S-so I don't know what.. I'd rather be called by.."She said, now looking at Laurence. "I-i do know that I'd rather.. not be called rat.." She reached and picked the glass up again, but her grip wasn't tight enough and it dropped to the floor spilling what was left of the water. She let out a gasp and quickly got off the couch to pick up the water then try and see if she could soak up the water in the carpet with the sleeves of her kimono.

"Well then, Nezumi it is! What- " Laurence broke off what he was saying when she dropped her glass. "Here, allow me to help. I suppose we definitely ought to get you some new clothes now," he said, helping her mop it up. Laurence picked up the glass and put it into the dishwasher. Returning, he said," I can deal with the rest, Nezumi, thanks for cleaning it up, though. Why don't we go upstairs, get you changed and bathed, then you can settle in. Tomorrow we'll go over the rules, sound good?" Laurence suggested, though he was hardly going to take a 'no'. So far, things hadn't exactly been going as he'd planned, but he would set that straight tomorrow. For now, he had to worry about his slave, who wasn't in very good condition to do much at the moment.

Nezumi watched as he walked away to put the glass up then returned, he didn't seem mad at all about her accidentally spilling the water and that made her less scared of this new one. She stood up and nodded at his question, "Ok, thank you."She said giving a small bow.

"Very well, then, let's go upstairs. Will you manage on your own, or shall I assist you?" Laurence asked, noting that Nezumi clearly had experience. Laurence wondered how much he would require of her because truthfully, he hadn't really thought about his expectations yet. He wanted them to be high, for his slave to be well trained, as he knew Lucinda would certainly expect of hers. Still, he realized he wasn't sure quite how to handle a girl so delicate. If she had been healthy, it would have been much easier. On the bright side, he certainly wouldn't be bored anymore.

"I-i think I can make it."Nezumi walked over to the stairs and climbe3d up them, keeping a firm hand on the railing beside her. When she suddenly slipped on one of the steps she caught herself on that railing and didn't ask for any assistance. Even though she was still weak she needed to try to do things on her own so she could become strong again. She stopped on the middle most step and looked down at Laurence.
