Fragments of the Tale

Master Brackengard - Frederick Brackengard/Grey Moonfang IV
The lord and master of Brackengard Castle. Was a tyrannical prince of a very small country at one point, and after ordering the execution of a woman who scorned him, died of 'mysterious causes'. A very egocentric and aggressive person with a strong love for manipulating others into doing his bidding. Also somewhat of a "serial Romeo" in the sense that he "falls in love" frequently, and once he's rejected, he has her executed as he moves on to his next "true love". Is the split personality of Brother Brackengard, and is unaware of his existance.

Brother Brackengard - Alister Brackengard/Grey Moonfang IV
The lord and master of Brackengard Castle. Is the much kinder split personality of Master Brackengard, and is highly aware of his other self. He often sabotages his other self's efforts against the captive women and abused servants in an attempt to atone for his sins. He frequently warns any women his other self has his eyes on to flee, and will do everything he can to make it happen. Poisoned himself after the execution of one of the women, killing both himself and the Master. A gentle soul who loves painting and classical music.

Captive Lady - Luckette Gordon/Animeprincess_9400
A 'guest' and current target of Master Brackengard's affections. Due to a series of tragic events, the Captive Lady ended up bruised-up and lost in the thick forest surrounding Brackengard Castle. After being rescued by the Butler, she caught the attention of the Master and was invited to stay at the castle. Despite Brother Brackengard's insistance, refuses to leave the castle for reasons unspoken.

Butler - Lucian Valren/Zelly-fangirl
A loyal servant of Master Brackengard. Before his untimely death, he helped Master Brackengard in his terrible deeds, despite whatever he might or might not think on the matter. While floating about outside of the castle, he found the Captive Lady in deplorable condition and saved her life. Whether this was an order from Master Brackengard or something done entirely of his own free will is unknown to anyone aside from himself and the Master.

Maid - Abigail Silva/greendragonfly52
A servant of Master Brackengard, and once the target of his affections in life. Having been one of the women killed for spurning the Master's affections, she holds a considerable grudge against him, and does whatever she can to inconvenience him without bringing any harm to herself. She seems to have been forgotten by the Master for the most part, which she is most certainly thankful for. Has befriended Captive Lady, and is one of the ghosts trying to convince her to flee.

Notable Tidbits You Should Be Aware Of

Setting
This is based in a modern day world, near a more rural set of communities. Castle Brackengard has long been abandoned since the day that the Master and his servants had died. It is normally left alone, for the most part, but travellers and the like sometimes get lost in the forest and end up at the castle. Most who stay never return home, either dying and becoming new 'servants' or running off into the forest and being killed by vicious wildlife.

Ghosts
Aside from those who are brought to or stumble across the castle, the residents of Castle Brackengard are ghosts who haunt the place. While inside the castle, they can take physical form and feel physical sensations that normal humans can. They can eat, drink, mate, and feel pain if they so wish. However, they cannot be killed and if they are harmed, they will simply lose corporeal form for a few moments. As they get further and further away from the castle, they lose the ability to keep corporeal form and to be heard by normal humans. If they stray too far, they will also lose their ghostly abilities, such as going through walls or possessing given objects. If they stray too far from the castle, all they will be able to do at most is listen to the world around them.

Technology
There is no electricity or modern technology within the castle. Any human guests near the castle will be completely unable to call or text on their cellphones, since there is no signal there what-so-ever. For anyone who thinks to do this once they become trapped there, kudos for at least getting that far. The ghosts come from a time before computers, iPods, and guns, so naturally, they have no idea what such things are.

Rules That Should Be Obeyed

1. Follow Gaia's terms of service. You should all know at least the bare basics by now, and if you don't, SHAME ON YOU. FOR SHAAAAAAAAAAMMMMEEEE. emotion_donotwant

2. There shall be no godmodding. I understand that the ghosts will have special abilities and all that, but please try to have them focused on one supernatural ability. (Such as possession, telepathy, empathy, ect. ect.) Moving through walls and going invisible do not count, since they are so basic that all of the ghosts can preform these tasks at will. Humans have no such ability and are rather fragile creatures. Please do keep aware of this.

3. Post in third person and in complete sentences. **'s for actions will have you reprimanded, and if any posts like that persist, auto-banned. Seriously, we like being able to read the posts we must reply to!

4. The characters listed in the first post are the most important, but I will be accepting others - even humans - so long as they fit and can be somehow incorperated into the roleplay without being stuck in a completely different setting. This is about the residents of Brackengard Castle and the Captive Woman, not two random humans in town sipping tea and debating the quality of old children's cartoons.

5. PM all profiles to Animeprincess_9400. The title of the PM should be the role that your character is taking, and if they are not any of those listed in the first post, it should be entitled 'Ectoplasm'.

6. I will reject any profiles that are completely bolded, as I will any that do not include a PICTURE for the character's appearance. I will NOT be accepting profiles with descriptions only or anything I deem completely unrelated to the story at hand.

7. If a human dies, they either 'pass on' or become ghosts. DEATH NEED NOT BE THE END.

8. The titles given in the first post are NOT the main characters' names. The only exception to this would be Brackengard's surname, but even then, neither of his personalities' first names are given. Aside from what I have up, you are entirely free to edit and adjust the characters as you like. Just do not stray too far from the basic idea, please.

9. If anyone is to become inactive for more than four days without prior warning as to why, I will send a reminder PM asking them to post. If I do not recieve a reply or update within three days from then, your character will either be removed and retconned or they will be given to someone else to play.
