I'm a college student. I have a kitchen, I have a car to get to the store, and I have the time. What I don't have is the know-how, or discount grocery stores sad That's the one thing I don't like about my town. My mom's friend was giving me some advice about beans and vegetables being both cheap and healthy. She made soup for me. I always look for bargains at the store of course. Anyone know of good ways to cook healthy food for cheap?

You can do a lot with a little, I know this for a fact.
Salsa (Any kind you want) + some (Once again the kind you prefer) beans with water in them can easily be mixed to make a salsa soup you can eat with chips.
I also suggest going to outdoor markets or roadside stands if you want fresh veggies and fruit, it can be cheaper than grocery stores. Invest in mixed nuts, trail mix, granola bars, some baked bread loafs and rolls (As they last a while) and if you have a fridge sliced cheeses and meats can be healthy.
The best thing you can do honestly is to look at your options, what is availible where you live, can you print off coupons for things at stores, weigh out how much you want to spend per trip and then google recipes.
A few easy recipes I can link you would be stuff like Cheesy potato soup and Chili (I could post it here since I don't have a link if you want it). It just depends on your tastes.
Low fat turkey sandwhiches on nickles 35 calorie bread with tomato, and lettuce - around 200 calories
chili with turkey burger instead of hamburger it's much healthier
switching from hamburger to turkey burger is great in soups or sauce switching from normal sausage to turkey sausage turkey bacon i do not however like the turkey pepporoni but some people do ^^;;
add color to your plate. if it's more colorful it's often more healthy. fruits, veggies
eat chicken, turkey, or fish instead of hamburger, sausage, or porkchops
a tuna sandwhich is pretty low cal
drink water instead of drinking pop/soda or instead of fruit juices which often have alot of sugar in them.
instead of snacking chew extra sugar free gum they actually have desert ones the apple pie one is amazing so is the mint chocolate chip and only 5 calories ^^
steamers in the frozen food section aren't that expensive and you can do them in the microwave
those are all of the tips i can think about atm ^^
