Whereas people take longer to prepare for Halloween and spend money on decorations and costumes, I think people spend more on expensive gifts for Valentine's Day. Aren't they always considered unlucky? Also, who would take their cats on ships? 56. Actually there's not really a Halloween festival in China, as we know it.
