I just played wii fit and it said I was overweight, it's really got me down. I feel like in society people will only love or like you if you are thin, so seeing the words "overweight" on the screen really got me quite sad... I am 5ft 3in, 14years of age, and 131pounds. Last time i checked my weight (a month ago) I was 120pounds. Since then I have been trying to lose weight. I do sit-ups (the most I can do in a row is f**king 10, i'm so unhealthy) and walk a mile everyday to try and keep in shape and loose weight, but I have gained 11pounds TT___TT My ideal weight is 110pounds, it sounds really impossible to me and I feel that is the only weight I will be happy about and not feel like I am a fatass (I don't have a fatass, but I have a fat stomach and back...) I just want to feel skinny and pretty like everyone else. Does anyone have any meal/exercise ideas that can fit into a highschoolers schedule? I'd love to be at least 15pounds lighter by february (115pounds) and then 20pounds lighter by june (110pounds). Please help!! UPDATE!! i stopped excersicing for about a month because I became super busy with the play and i've gained back ALL of the weight I lost TT________TT i am now 130pounds again. If someone could give me some help on excersizes i can work into a busy schedule that would be amazing! And some tips on keeping weight off once you loose it 3

Alrighty, stop calling yourself fat You are not,by any means, fat ^_^ Check here [x] I calculated your BMI[which is 23.20] and you are normal, not overweight or obese. Wii fitness is overrated >.> I do not think losing weight will hurt ya,but only do it for YOU,not for society or high school My daily schedule consists of jogging three miles a day,and getting plenty of fruits & veggies You could try running in the evenings, and some quick yoga before school

I figured something was up with the stupid game, but hearing it weather it is right or wrong is a blow to the self esteem xD; I'll try the quick yoga before school and running/walking more. And I will make what I eat more healthy C: Thank you for the help~!

I'm 5'6, 130 pounds, and 14. The only difference in us is 3 inches ;p I'm a little tiny bit thick in my stomach and thighs, but it's just because I'm lazy. You and I both could probably both benefit from a healthier diet and maybe a light workout routine, but you're NOT overweight. Just work on having healthy, balanced habits and meals (: yum_strawberry

Five-four, one hundred & twenty-one pounds.
Honey, you are not fat.
If you really want to lose weight, do what I did: go vegetarian. Lost 3o+ pounds.
Note: my diet also messed me up. Make sure if you do go vegetarian, don't go overboard like I did. Make sure you get your protein & iron.

I've been vegetarian for several years and I've seen no difference in my weight. Maybe a healthier lifestyle, however. You really need to do is maintain a diet; which I think is what sweetari is referring to when she says vegetarian. A tip is to maybe join a gym with a friend (preferably one who enjoys working out) and try it out from there. Wii Fit is good too, but I think exercising in another environment helped me lose weight.

You can't always trust BMI or other formulas that tell you how much you're "supposed" to weigh. Most of them just do a straight up weight-to-height ratio, which doesn't take into account the percentage of that weight coming from fat vs bone vs muscle vs water. For instance, I've always weighed a LOT more than I looked... in high school, I was in a competitive, athletic marching band program all four years, and I was wearing a size 7. Other people thought I weighed like 120 pounds soaking wet, but I actually weighed 145! (for reference, my height is about 5'6".)
I'm pretty out of shape right now, since endometriosis and adenomyosis made it really painful for me to exercise for the past 3 or 4 years, and I'm up to a weight that gets me pegged as "morbidly obese," but I wear a fricking size 12. That's not even a "plus" size. Definitely not what I'd consider obese, and certainly not morbidly so.
So, unless a doctor tells you otherwise, I think it's most important for you to be comfortable in your body and to feel like you're healthy and in shape. Muscle weighs more than fat anyway, so the number on the scale doesn't matter as much as your practical fitness level.

Well, quite frankly, Screw your society!! Yes, agreeably it dictates allot of what we do with out lives, But honestly, If you're comfortable with your body, then unless you are medically in danger, who cares? I've been tubby for most of my life (still am) and weigh... 81kg, approx 178 Lbs I'm about... uhh... 5ft 4" ish and am technically classed as "obese". This hasn't surprised me much as I could win gold for the lazy Olympics, But the BMI doesn't calculate bone and muscle, and with only slight asthma, I'm not (too) physically unfit. Honestly, If you're fat then what am I?! mrgreen And if your society still doesn't accept you for who you are, you're in the wrong place. P.S. you've been watching too many model shows and magazines.

5'6" and 112 pounds as of my last doctor's visit and turning 14 next Monday. And 3 out of 5 times when I weigh myself I weigh about 108. *cough* Like has been said before, BMI only takes height into account. If you have boobs or an a** or muscle then whatever it says is most likely inaccurate. Same goes for Wii Fit. If anyone likes you just because you are thin then they don't really like you, and if anyone doesn't like you just because you aren't thin then you don't want them to like you anyway. They're probably going to be a shitty friend. Also, trust me, being skinny isn't as great as it sounds! Honestly I feel just like everyone else. It's nothing special. Being healthy is more of something to be proud of in my opinion. And I most definitely am not healthy. xD Don't listen to what your 'ideal' weight is. If you get the right amount of exercise and eat right then you're at your healthy weight.
But that rant aside, congratulations. ^_^ Don't be too upset if you don't reach your goal, because it sounds like you're at a pretty good weight as it is since you're eating well and exercising. However I wish you luck in reaching it and hope that you stay healthy. (:
