[1v1] Teacher vs. Student [Levi/Xiu] Fin

Xiu needed to train harder, that much was for certain. The incident had been rather eye-opening for her to realize just how much of a threat those Hunters really were. Within an hour--or maybe it was less--they had managed to trap nearly every student in the area. She shuddered to think what would have happened to them if they hadn't been let go.

The baku thought that she had done a decent job at practicing what Levi taught her, but it was clear that she still needed more work. Therefore, the only logical conclusion was to call the tatzel--her big sister and teacher--and ask her for some more help. It was just like another of their practice spars, only Xiu was a little more serious than usual today.

Did she expect to win? No, she definitely didn't, but she was certainly going to try her best, and hopefully get some tips on what could use improving.

They usually practiced within one dorm or the other. Levi and Xiu rather regularly met to just warm up and spar a bit. The baku was indeed improving from what Levi could tell; like her, Xiu was more of the agile type. The faster they got to move and the more space they had to move in, the better they'd be able to deal with large areas of combat ... like the canyon.

The gym seemed like a way to go given Levi's past experiences fighting West and Bul. There was Wingspan/tail space. Sure, her dorm room was large... monster dorm allowed for her to even take on her natural form if she wished it but the gym was a clear open space- no damaging of property.

Coming into the gym and throwing her towel to the sidelines, Levi...

...stretched and smiled, taking her place over the shielded gym floor with the baku. Alright- ready, Xiu?

As always, it was a measure of speed, evasion and agility. Levi's first move in their now larger battle zone was to perform a simple high kick with her heel. Would Xiu dodge? Would she counter? The tatzel delighted to see what results her attacks would yield with Xiu.

"Thank you for coming." Xiu said, shooting her favourite tatzel (...okay, the only tatzel she knew, but still!) an appreciative smile. That was all she had time to say, though--when it came to sparring together, neither she or Levi wasted any time.

The kick surprised her, and she stumbled back a few steps at the impact. However, instead of balking as she would have done during their first practice session, the small baku lunged forward to counter with her own kick, swinging her leg up and around.

And then she winced a little. As used as she was to sparring with Levi, that didn't mean that she liked kicking or punching her friend.

Levi braced for was was an inevitable hit. She didn't have enough time to prepare a proper block, so she simply took the baku's kick. She stumbled for a moment, quickly taking to using her tail as a ground, stopping her.

Nice, Xiu!

With her tail already grounded, she leaped backward, leaving distance between the two. They had lots of space- she wanted to make use of it. Xiu used a lot of close-quaters moves as did the tatzel- save for moves that were more dependent on her abilities as a tatzelwurm. These sorts of attacks were more like aerial attacks rather than wrestling moves.

Perhaps she'd try these. Throwing a curveball to the baku could further test her.

"T-thank you." Xiu managed a small, pleased grin, but the expression quickly made way for alarm when Levi suddenly leaped backwards. What was she planning, she wondered?

Whatever it was, the baku realized that standing around blankly and waiting for Levi to attack was not the way to go. Steeling herself, she slipped forward and tried to land another kick.

Levi again took the kick in, blocking with her forearms this time. Kekeke!

Instead of opting to leap back as she had before, she decided to bound upward to avoid Xiu chasing her again. This time, she'd use the space for an attack without interference. Coming back down, she landed on the baku with a foot on each shoulder, promptly pushing off again with her weight setting into the back of Xiu. The idea was to have her stumbling forward... but would she? Levi landed back onto the floor in a crouch position with her back to the baku.

Okay, so Xiu hadn't been expecting that. Not in the least.

The move had done exactly what Levi had meant it to do: the extra weight and the push off sent the little baku stumbling forward, and she only just managed to catch herself before she went crashing into the ground.

Unfortunately, this meant that she didn't have any time to counter.With a little wince, she pushed herself back onto her feet, shooting a small grin at Levi. "That was really impressive!" Yup, that was her jiejie for you!

Okay, looked like the aerial was a good way to go to catching Xiu off her guard. More tatzel moves were about to spring into action. Swiveling around on all fours after her first hit, watching Xiu wobble and fall over, she was pleased to see her get right back up to smile at her. Atta'ghoul.

The baku paid her a compliment, but ally he tatzel could do, after a playful chuckle, was give a sly smirk. Glad ya think so. Typical of ma 'kin... Crouching down further, she started what would be another bound upward after saying but impressive won't win points fer ya in'a attack if yer blockin'! It was a lesson in fighting from above. Hopefully, she could both practice these moves as well as help Xiu learn to counter them successfully.

This aerial attack was more of a slanted jump where she kicked at Xiu's midsection with one foot tucking behind the other for a more shocking hit. Block me!

"Blocking?" Xiu echoed, eyes widening slightly. What did she--oh!

The baku hardly had any time to process what Levi meant when the tatzel suddenly jumped forward with another attack. Xiu tried to raise her arms in an attempt to protect herself and block the attack, but she was too slow--the hard kick sent her flying backwards, and she tumbled on the ground for a bit before she managed to push herself up with a wince.

"O-ow. If only I could learn to do that." The last part was accompanied with a small smile as she forced herself back onto her feet. Trying to ignore the little aches, she slipped forward and swung her fist out at Levi.

The tatzel tried to block Xiu's attack as well with her forearms crossed defensively. Learn how to do that kick? Well- why not...

Taking on her usual position as a sort of instructor, Levi took a few steps back, leaving enough space between tim to ground her tail and lift her legs into a connected post like when she'd achieved the kick. 'Lot 'bout it is keepin' this pose, ya see? Coming back off her tail, she's jump up just a bit and demonstrate forming the pose again in a way Xiu could try.

Hmm, that looked...kind of difficult, actually. Xiu couldn't help but, for just a moment, wish that she was a tatzel like Levi (that tail was amazing!) but she didn't let the thought linger for long. Squaring her shoulders and taking a deep breath, the little baku nodded to show that she understood. Okay, she could do this...

...Wiiiith a lot of practice. Despite her determination, she only managed a fairly weak kick, and her landing was...well.

Her landing was on her a**. "O-ow."

oof! She staggered back a step or two at the hit from Xiu's kick. Yep! That's how ya do 'it. She tried one on Xiu
using the same bounce less method. It didn't have quite the same punch-packing power, but it was a decent hit. She'd just gotten used to her tail for this move in the air, it seemed.

Xiu got back on her feet, only to lose her footing and fall again at the sudden kick. Ooh, she was going to bruised after this spar, she knew it! Then again, what did she expect? This was a spar, not a pillow fight!

Taking a deep breath, she pushed herself back up and tried the kick out again.

That's tha' way! Ya got it. Reassuring the baku as always, Levi geared the hit again, following up with a nod as she spoke.

Trying for something more complicated again, Levi took to grabbing Xiu's solders and jumping up off of her in a sort of summersault. Once behind the baku, she turned quickly to deliver a push into the petite ghoul's back with both palms aligned. That little hand position she picked up from the skeeV.
