For the first time in my 1.5yrs of having rats, my rats had a close encounter with the cat. I don't know why my bathroom door was open, but I was sitting at my computer and I just heard frantic footsteps and a crash and I knew right away what was going on, I jumped up and yelled and found Rascal half under my bed looking up at me kind of dazed, no rat in his mouth, it looked like he either crashed into the bed, or dove under and hit a box. I grabbed him up, at which point my brother had run in to see what happened, handed him the cat and went looking for my rats. Still shaking and not knowing who I'd find in what state. I called out and Aida poked her head out. I was pretty sure it wasn't her because I introduced her to the cat once and she hid for hours. (and the cat didn't make a move at her) about 5 mins later I found Blaze under her cage, she fled to my desk, which I had to pull out of the wall to reach her and drag her out. She looks fine, but incredibly stressed. I put her in her cage and she tried to hide behind her house, but, it's a hamster house, it barely hides her, so I scooped her up and plopped her in her hammock at the very top far corner of the cage figuring she'd feel safest there. She hasn't moved yet, not even for food, but she takes it from me if I offer it to her, so she's getting breakfast in bed right now.
Poor thing, she was the one who loved to roam my whole room even the wide open parts, I wonder if she'll ever wana leave her cage again.
