[Shinsua]

The semi-public springs of Ikebana Gates; its outer area acquainted by a brisk cold, and the waters themselves giving off fumes of sheer comforting warmth, this beautiful contradiction is an enthralling and refreshing phenomenon. Much like any other town or village, these springs are open to those who can afford the little vacation ( of course, like most other villages, that's the low, low cost of nothing, for ninja ).

*Sip* *sip* *sip* ". . ." *Sip* *sigh* "Strawberry just brings up odd memories, rather than flavors, when not plucked by her hand..." The light dinging patter of glass against stone rang out in a sharp instance, only to be shortly muffled by a second sigh and shifting water.

 

[Chezmonkey]

Al wandered into the hotsprings, and after being shown the Men's side, changed and entered the water. He wanted to relax and a quick hot soak would be just the thing. After all, he'd not seen anyone else anywhere near here, and the privacy would be nice after the hustle and bustle of the festival. After soaking for a good amount of time, he fell asleep, snores gently rumbling as he lazed on a shallow seat.

It took some time to chat with innkeeper of the inns about how this springs was divided. Gender wise, non gender wise and which one was full. The were all three, to Jae's comfort. The female side was empty, Jae heading for it. Undressing and wrapping herself in the towel provided for them, she headed straight for the spring. Testing the water with her hand, she winced. It was really hot. Okay...one...two...three! She just jumped in, her body twitching in response to the heat change."Ow! Ow! Ow!" She said, twitching like mad as she adjusted. After a few seconds she relaxed, her muscles turning into butter from the inside. It felt so nice. She leaned up against the side and closed her eyes enjoying the warmth the spring provided. It was quiet and clean, something that this village never lacked. She began to hum a tune to herself, keeping herself awake by doing this. Unfortunately for her she was still tired from prior and she began to drift, her anemia kicking in as her body started succumbing to the heat. Jae was unaware that she was starting to show the signs of passing out. She continued to hum to herself, very happy in her ignorance.

Himself alone in one of the private pools which were lofted and veiled above those open to the public, Ooeda was free to catch the melody which had been hummed below from the moments-ago empty female only area. It was simple, yet charming. Drifting with the same pace and warmth as the steams of the waters in which he, and likely the source, enjoyed. His glass just slightly out of his stretched reach, he slowly began to lower his eyelids, unconsciously reverberating the same hum, though in his own hollow-deep tone.
Far too absorbed in the tranquil heat and hymn, Ooeda had not realized just how close to the rim of his pool- and thusly the edge of the meager cliff -he had been inching. He had abandoned his glass in its entirety, brought his arms crossed to his chin, and blindly loomed over the ledge, still harmonizing the girl, Jae's, tune.

To say the least, Jae was out of it. Not in the sense that she had lost herself completely to sleep but more along the lines of not immediately picking up on things. Like say, the sudden masculine humming that had suddenly joined along with her tune and pitch. At first she was simply delighted by the sound produced, Jae sinking a little bit more into the water as she adjusted her position a little more. It was only when she considered switching her tempo, to challenge the other persons ability to follow along with her, did she suddenly realize that she was not alone exactly. She stopped abruptly, her eyes snapping open. She ducked into the water up to her chin, looking around her as she hugged herself. She had the towel on but still, it was unnerving to know she wasn't alone. Or so she thought. Looking around the pool around her she realized she was still very much the only patron in this spring. A look of confusion intermingled with anxiety flitted across her face. She slowly sat up, looking around her cautiously. G-Ghost? She thought, nervous now. The occult was something that she outwardly poked fun at but in truth she was not fond of the idea of encountering something like a ghost. Especially on her own. "Erm...is someone...there?" She fought back the urge to add, 'please tell me someone is there'.

Laughing to himself a bit as he was thrown off Jae's musical trail, Ooeda cracked his left eye half-open, to peer down on the lone patron of the fairer sex's split springs. The distance between his private pool and the public one below was decent, enough to blur faces, but allowed the general outline and colors to be in clear view- if not for the steam, of course. "Quite funny, really... I'm used to being treated as a ghost; present, but never truly known... I assure you, though, I am by no means one of the dearly departed, nor am I Thomas, of the perverted eye." His voice was calm and coy. Assuming the origin of his voice would turn the girl's head upward, he responded completely stone-nerved, absorbing her words as openly as his body did the spring's soothing touch. Alone, Ooeda reclosed his eye and continued to press the girl's melody from memory. There were few short periods where he stuttered, seeming to stagger to remember certain lines, but for the most part, he was spot on; recalling even the bars that Jae had thrown in to tamper with his original chorus.

As soon as he spoke, Jae looked upward, following the persons voice. She hadn't noticed that there was another area up above her, nor had she felt the person's presence. Clearly, there was someone up there but she could only make out their silhouette. The steam produced by the springs obscured clear vision and masked his details. Well. She assumed it was a 'he'. For all she knew it could very well be a ghost. She felt a little better knowing that where the sound was coming from now. It gave her the chance to face it. "For all I know..." She muttered to herself, lowering herself into the spring up to her nose. The heat tingled against her lips but soon her body adjusted to that too. Jae listened as he continued humming her tune. It was broken at the parts where he had forgotten the bridges but he completed it, challenging portion and all. She smiled, a little amused and delighted. This was the first easy going encounter she come across in a long while. Perfect location for it as well. Maybe the springs had a way with soothing ones soul. If one could not find warmth elsewhere you could get it at the springs. "How am I supposed to follow up with that one?" She commented, being smart about his completion of her melody. Jae grew a little self conscious now, knowing that someone had heard her and had been able to outshine her at her own lullaby. Her retort was expected, well to those who knew her anyway. "Hmm. Perverted Thomas ghost, try this one." Jae challenged, choosing a different song completely. She didn't sing, merely hummed it. She choose something that would be a little harder for him to just dive into without picking the right tone, if he could hit it. She kept her piece at the same tempo, not wanting to break the calm atmosphere in the area.

Taka had taken her mask off and clipped it to her belt for the moment, her face altered slightly by a henge so she wouldn't be recognized without close inspection. She stood in plain view of both bath areas and drew a fan and a single gourd from her belt. (1-9)

She began an intricate dance. Her fan sliced through the air in arcs that seemed to mimic the stars and their constellations. She leaned back, bridging her back and thrust the fan out while her other hand poured a liquid from her gourd into her mouth. (2-9)

Her fan bit into the wood of the rooftop and she carried her body over the weapon lifting her frame off the ground using it as a balance point., her dress clinging to her body tightly Her legs came up in a snap and carried her to the other side where, with a pop, her weapon came free of the wooden rooftop.(3-9)

Her blade cut into invisible foes around her and she bridged back again swinging a strike at ankle level while taking another drink from the gourd.She stood back up and staggered about albeit rather gracefully. (4/9)

As she continued her dance she laughed aloud, loud enough for the people in the springs to hear, and turned a nasty looking snap kick that rotated into a sweep and back up to a head level kick.(5/9)

As taka swept through various kicks she snapped out of and leaned back keeping her leg straight, falling onto her back with her leg partially in the air. He dress fell a little showing off her calves as she lifted the gourd and dropped a amount of sake down her throat, then her arm fell flat as well as her leg. (6/9)

She sprang back into motion, pinwheeling her legs into two kicks designed for clearing an opponent to regain her footing. She came around following the direction of the current kicks and stayed low, her fan flashing in the sunlight off the wavy steel blades. (7-9)

She spun again letting go of her fan leaving it rotating at lethal speeds in the air as she took another drink from her gourd. She finished her spin and caught the fan closing it and sliding it into the sheathe she had on her thigh.(8-9)

She leaned back into a crane stance to finish her dance taking another quick drink and held her gourd hand back for balance while the other faced forward, her sharp nails poised to strike quick and lethal blows . She shifted her hand that was forward into a seal and a cloud of smoke appeared . When the cloud was dispersed the woman stood there in her anbu mask with a different hair color and style than the henge had led to believe. She executed a quick bow and hopped down from the building into the bathing area, but not going into the water(9-9) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She changed into her two piece bathing suit. Fairly plain, nothing special. She then slipped into the water and swam around for a little while. she then suddenly caught sight of a masked woman, most likely an ANBU of some sort and swam over to her. "Excuse me. I'm looking for someone. She's about my height, dark hair, usually carries a fan?"

Right up until the point that she began to move the senbon along her skin in the way that Taka had when she had been given a massage earlier. There had to be only one person who knew about that. "Taka?" She said with a questioning tone in her voice. Although obviously it was slightly muffled due the hand over her mouth.
