NAME OF CLASS CHORE: Trashology 101
PROFESSOR NAME: Moira *********, Professor Janitor

General Information: In Trashology 101, students will learn the valuable skills of cleanliness and machine operation. All around campus, trash and waste and other icky things are taken care of by Moira's sorta-patented Trashbot Waste Disposal Units! But they need to be emptied sometimes and there's just too many of them for Moira to handle on her own...

The Course: The Trashbot Waste Disposal Units (or Trashbots) zip around the campus and collect trash, etc. before returning to their home base in Moira's Fortress of Janitorial Solitude. This home base is a massive, warehouse-like room with a cold concrete floor, rusting steel girders, and a rather pervasive smell. The Waste Disposal Chutes are also set into the floor - huge tubes that lead down to a rather foul cavern below, infested with all manner of vermin. Students must deal with the Trashbots... by whatever means necessary.

Did we mention that the Trashbots are ten-foot-tall ramshackle monstrosities of rusting metal, covered in blades and dumpsters and rust? And that they don't particularly like letting go of a thing once they have it? And that their programming as to what counts as 'trash' is spotty at the best of times?

Mechanics - Solo:

Students who attempt Trashology 101 solo are certainly brave, taking on the Trashbots without any other assistance! Upon entering the Trashbot home base, intrepid soloists are faced with five active Trashbots, each of whom would love to scoop you up and drop you down the Waste Disposal Chute.

The Trashbots must be defeated one at a time, in five separate 'waves'.

Wave One: Roll 1d20-
------- If you roll 6-20: you successfully dodge the first Trashbot. It runs into a wall and deactivates.
------- If you roll 1-5: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

Wave Two: Roll 1d12-
------- If you roll 6-12: you duck behind a dumpster! Your cunning hiding place confuses the second Trashbot. It toodles away after a few minutes and leaves you alone.
------- If you roll 1-5: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

Wave Three: Roll 1d8-
------- If you roll 5-8: using all the resources at your command, you manage to trip the third Trashbot. It flops around feebly for a minute before deactivating.
------- If you roll 1-4: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

Wave Four: Roll 1d6-
------- If you roll 4-6: a hapless gnome runs by. You chuck it into the fourth Trashbot's main collector. Thus appeased, the Trashbot leaves you alone.
------- If you roll 1-3: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

Wave Five: Roll 1d4-
------- If you roll 3-4: you end up next to a particularly rancid garbage bag, which you can just barely heave at the fifth and final Trashbot. The bag explodes on impact, showering both you and the Trashbot with ick - but the Trashbot flings itself down the Waste Disposal Chute, leaving you the last one standing. In need of a shower, but standing!
------- If you roll 1-2: the Trashbot grabs you and dumps you down the Waste Disposal Chute! You'll have to try again...

If you make it through all five waves, you are deemed a Trashology Hero! Moira will put your name down on her notice board for all to see. You will gain the admiration of your peers! Maybe.

If you get punted down the Waste Disposal Chute, you end up in a huge cavern full of garbage, verminous minipets, and gnomes who got tossed out by mistake. You may leave the cavern dump through a tunnel that lets out near the Creepateria.

Mechanics - Group:

Students that enter in groups of 2 or more must face a different challenge! This challenge may be met by very large groups if desired, so if you want to form a mini-army of Trash Soldiers, feel free!

When the students enter, each of them are snatched up by a Trashbot, and no matter how hard they struggle they can't quite get free... but they can sort of steer the Trashbots around! The goal is to steer the Trashbots into each other in order to free your fellow students and yourself from their stinky grips.

Each Trashbot has 20 HP. To attack another Trashbot, you must roll for two things: your damage and your accuracy.

With each post, roll 2d6. The first dice is your ACCURACY, if you hit or not! Even you hit, odd you miss! The second dice is your DAMAGE. There are no modifiers: whatever the second dice rolls is the damage you deal to your target!

Remember in each post to state both your target (i.e. Character A's Trashbot) and your own Trashbot's HP! Keep in mind you are damaging the Trashbots only - character HP is completely unaffected.

Once your Trashbot hits 0 HP, it deactivates and releases you. At that point, you should move out of the way lest you be stepped on by an active Trashbot! Students cannot attack Trashbots from the sidelines until there is only one active Trashbot left on the field.

When there is only one Trashbot left 'alive', the students on the sidelines may begin attacking by throwing trashbags at it! The dice roll is the same as before: 2d6, first dice for accuracy, second for damage.

When all Trashbots are deactivated, students are kindly asked to dump any loose garbage down the Waste Disposal Chutes before leaving. Moira thanks you!

YOU LOSE/FINISH THIS CLASS WHEN...

- You are at any point in time grabbed and thrown into the waste disposal chute. That means you have to make ANOTHER rp to try again!

Mortimer was actually getting a tad frustrated by this exercise, and by a tad he meant actually wanting to kick one of the things over; probably a carry over from his sound defeat by Hel which, although garnered no ill will, really showed him how much he needed to work on in battle. Plus it wasn't great to come back to his dorm smelling like banana peels and soured milk - it was just a little bit worse than his usual scent of decay.

But if his first three tries told him something, it was that Mort couldn't do it alone. Jackin' second sentries . . .

And thus he leaned against the wall of the janitorial, whipped out his cellphone, and began flipping through contacts. His phone had a habit of scrambling the order every once in a while as opposed to staying alphabetically, and this time it decided to list them not randomly, but from newest to oldest. And there sat a familiar name at the top.

Hum. Well Alex had been pretty awesome on his feet in DDD, and he seemed like a chill guy. So Mort sent him a quick text asking for some help and gave the location.

Alex had only given his number out to a few students since reaching the school, so when his phone began to buzz on the desk beside him, he actually at first assumed it was just his mother trying to get ahold of him yet again to see if he was doing alright. He almost left it there, not really caring to talk to her just yet, worried that if he did she was going to insist he leave the school and come back home to rejoin the horde.

It took him a moment to clue in that his phone had only vibrated once, indicating that it was a text message, and not an actual phone call. Did his mom even know how to text? He didn't think so. He looked up from the book he was reading and grabbed at his phone, tapping on the screen a couple of times to be greeted with a happy surprise. It was a text from Mort! He...needed help with something?

Not one to ignore a fellow zombie in need, Alex had punched in a quick reply to say he'd be right over, and pushed himself from his desk. Then, shuffling through the junk on his floor, had grabbed the skateboard leaning against the wall next to the door and made his way out.

Not too terribly long later, Alex came rolling up, hands in pockets, to the location Mort had specified, eyeing his surroundings wearily. What was this? He sniffed at the air.

Smelt a lot like his bedroom, actually.

"Hey Mort, what's up?" He called out, amiably enough, bringing his skeletal foot down to the ground to stop the steady roll of his skateboard and then stepping onto the the back end of it hard to flip it up into his ready hands.

He'd really gotten much better at using this thing in the last few days.

Mort blinked as he saw the zomboil move rather . . . smoothly on up to him. Skateboards were definitely something he should look into, or at least something with wheels. Assuming, of course, he wasn't clumsy with them; Mort didn't recall having ever skated before.

"Hi, hi," he greeted with a wave, straightening up from the wall. "Is good see again. Was hoping for help w-with, er . . . robots." Mort gestured the the building behind him. "Is class. Not know how, but class is. Ms. Moira a-ask for help clean trashbot, but're big n' need help with."

To illustrate how big, he raised his hand as high as his arm allowed it.

"Went three times a'fore, not very lucky. 'Bot thinks b-be trash. Think need hand, thought call friend?"

Robots? Alex looked at the other zomboil a little incredulously. Mort had called him to help with...trash bots? Alex almost laughed out loud in spite of himself. The notion that he, of all zombies, knew absolutely anything about cleaning up trash, or what a trash bot even was, was ridiculous. His bedroom and his state of dress everyday could plainly attest to that.

"I see. So these trashbots, these..giant.." He eyed how high Mort was holding his hand up in the air. "...trashbots. We have to empty them, but they don't know the difference between actual trash, and a student?" Ok, he was laughing now.

"Sounds like a challange!" He grinned. "Lets go and get started! You can lead the way."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 17, 2012 11:12 pm
Ahahaha . . . Yay for leading the way. "I-Is for good bonding 'sperience," Mort joked, trying not to look afraid as he opened the door and led them both in. "L-Like when Momma say take out trash, only with robots!" That was supposed to be fun-sounding, but unfortunately Mort knew better; he was just attempting to get Alex excited and/or pumped, because he'd rather not accidentally get the guy caught -

"WASTE DETECTED. WASTE DETECTED."

Shiiiiii-!

And just like that Mort was swooped up in a giant rusty claw. However big he told Alex these rust buckets were, they were still quite a bit taller. And a bit imposing. And very smelly.

Alex followed Mort along at his steady pace, his skateboard tucked beneath his arm as they trudged along. Alex was actually pretty excited for what was about to happen, though he thought he detected a hint of something on Mort's face...something that didn't quite fit with his voice or the words he was saying...

Hrrmmmm...

Before Alex followed the other zomboil in, he thoughtfully placed his skateboard against the wall, not wanting to get it lost or have it thrown into some waste disposal area by a trashbot. When he looked up again, Mort had gone through the door.

"Haha, ya.." He replied, but was cut a bit short when Mort was suddenly scooped up by a giant. freaking. rusty. robot. and towed away.

Alex stepped through the door himself, calling out Mort's name, when suddenly he caught the smell of something coming up beside him fast, and was neatly plucked off of the floor. "Eeeeeeeyaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh" he cried out.

Well, that had certainly been fast.

Alex was thinking about how he might have to have a long chat with Mort after this about the definition of "fun".

Nonononono NOT AGAIN. Jack, he at least had somewhat of a chance when he tried this solo. What, did the robots get attracted quicker due to the zomboils' combined stenches?

Mort would consider taking showers more often if so.

"O-Okay, no panic!" he squeaked, wriggling in the claw as the thing began to stomp slowly towards the chute. "Um. Er. M-Maybe should make hit 'em together?"

He attempted to make the thing move by leaning this way and that, but at best the robot stopped and looked at its kin, almost as if it was judging the other robot's undead prize against its own.

Alex struggled against the trashbots grip, glaring towards the other bot that was holding on to Mort. Or was he glaring at Mort? Either way, he yelled. "Seriously you think this is a good bonding experience??" as he began to kick his legs and wiggle furiously.

Wait a second....had he just made the trashbot go faster? Maybe if he could get up enough speed, he could ram the one holding on to Mort and get it to let him go! Alex continued to kick at the machine "GO GO GO!" He yelled.

He was rewarded by his efforts when his trashbot actually did pick up speed, and it did ram against Morts bot.

Hard.

"Ahahahahaha!" He laughed. "Mort, I think we can control these things somehow, just gotta get the right movement into it."

Whatever Mort was about to say was cut off by the vicious jarring from the crash of 'bot on 'bot. Suffice to say, his brain was certainly rattled about, short circuiting for a moment and causing him to twitch.

"D-D-Does h-how go a-again that?" he stammered as a result of this accidental body charge, his legs flailing a bit like they were trying to air-tap dance. It shouldn't be hard to make two large things crash into one another, but apparently it was so for him.

The jarring together of the two bots had made Alex clench his teeth, but by Jack, he was ready to do it again! Without hesitating he kicked at the gigantic robot from trash hell, making it collide yet again against Morts Robot.

Again with the teeth clenching, again with the yelling!

"You just...I dunno man, MOVE AROUND!" He yelled. "If you get out, you'd better get me out of this thing!!"

Alex's bot, though having rammed into Mort's twice now, was holding on to him just as firmly as ever.

"'C-Course!" Mort shouted back almost indignantly, like he would leave one of his own behind especially since he invited the guy over. Of course, the second crash was almost as bad as the first, making his head hurt as more discharge from his brain coursed down his neck. This made it particularly hard to concentrate, and as he attempted to make the robot hit Alex's, the thing missed it entirely.

"J-J-Jaaaackd-d-daammmnnn-"

Apparently he couldn't even spit out a full curse.

Alex quirked an eye brow at the other boil, wondering why he was having so much more trouble then usual speaking. Was the bot on bot impacts actually hurting him?

OH WELL!

Alex tried one more time to get his bot to ram against Morts, but this time it just decided to do it's own thing.

Well...that wasn't good D:

"Ok, Sorry, this thing just seems to have a mind of it's own!"

Mort begged to differ that they didn't have minds so much as faulty programming (he'd have to talk to Moirai about that sometime, seriously, thinking students were trash was just not cool), but that would require high lever thinking and reasoning and right now all he wanted to do was smash these things together like action figures. So he tried something.

"Nnnng!" The zomboil made a face, and another small electrical shock went through his body - and the robot twitched in response this time. Lifting its great claw hand, it proceeded to tap Alex's robot a few times, shaking Mort as a result, but at least leaving a little scratch in return.

@@ Well it sounded okay in theory, but Jack was his head hurting . . . and now some of his body.

It wasn't much, but whatever Mort had managed to get his robot to do to Alex's robot captor loosened the robots grip enough for Alex to at least remove one arm from it's grasp.

"Hey ya you go it now buddy! Keep it up!"

Alex began banging his free hand against the side of his own robots head. "Come on now wake up you big ugly rusted piece of jack trash!"

Remarkably, the thing seemed to have responded, and the Robot turned to slam into Morts once again with a wild cheer from Alex.

Ok, so maybe this was a little bit fun.
