[Open Class] Natural Habitat - Horseman Trial [Shehk] [FAIL]

She'd heard the Horseman Invictus had set up something that was rather nice, but Shehk hadn't quite been expecting something... so nice, to be honest. It smelled of earth and bark and she took a deep breath of it. It smelled like home, trees, fog.

It was her natural habitat, even as she stepped into the fog hidden trees and begin her venture, stepping carefully as she did so. She could hear Conquest's words reminding her she wasn't the only thing out there, and as it was...

she really wasn't hoping he'd gotten his hands on some Grinders with which to decimate the entire forest with and cause mass panic. That thought alone would make her giddy and fearful forever. But she forced the thought away and began her task...

Shehk moved carefully in hopes of avoiding making too much noise, but it seemed she'd gotten herself so wound up about grinders she'd stepped on something and it snapped underneath her foot, causing her ears to perk up and her attention to suddenly divert to the bright light heading towards her, making a sort of..ringing noise.

"s**t" she swore underneath her breath, running for cover.

She can quickly, aiming to duck into cover quickly, but what she found instead was a rather interesting looking pumpkin-shaped trinket. Was this one of those trinkets that Invictus had been asking for? She turned it over in her hands thoughtfully before she shoved it into her pocket, looking to make a clean run to find the next one as she moved.

No more lights, please, please, please.

One of fifteen, one of fifteen, she could manage this, right?

However, a branch snapped underneath her foot again and she heard that ominous noise coming after her again. She ran, her pupils dilating as she moved, seeking out where she'd be going next. Yes, this was like running through her forest with Decebal.

But like Decebal's forest, she knew there were dangers inside of it. She tumbled behind a fallen log, taking a deep breath as she carefully picked another one of those pumpkin trinkets up, tucking it into her pocket with the last one.

"Thirteen left." she nodded, before she rolled out of hiding and went running again. She could do this, she could do this, she could do this.

She really needed to work on not getting seen while she was running, her ears flattening back against her head at the noise that seemed to chase her, looking around for a place to hide.

s**t! It was still following her!

Shehk began to pant, knowing full well she needed to conjure up some fog and hide in it, and fast...

Before she could get her breathing running too high, however, she found a dark space between a pair of trees to slip into, pressing herself into it and waiting for the noise to fade. Her ears perked up and for a moment she waited for something to happen.

Instead she patted the tree thoughtfully.

"Thank you, I'll come see you again, I think." she said, her tail wagging thoughtfully before she ran out into the fog again.

s**t s**t s**t, ABORT MISSION, ABORT MISSION!!

Shehk immediately ran back to her tree to hide in it as she heard something.. big move between the trees, her ears flattening back against her head as she panted, trying to catch her breath.

Shehk patted her tree friend again.

"You.... we should be friends, yes." she noted with a nod, before she slipped out of hiding to start her venture again, taking a deep breath as she moved.

Okay, she still had a good hiding place in that tree if she needed to run for it again, slowly creeping out into the fog to start looking again. She heard..jingling....

Shehk began to book it, though not back towards her tree quite yet. She needed to save that in case of something...big...

There was a trinket! Right there! She nearly clambored into the log it was in, grabbing it up as she heard something pass over her new hiding spot, taking a deep breath before she crawled out to go searching again.

With some quiet creeping, Shehk soon came across another trinket, tucking it into her pocket with the other three.

That was four down, eleven to go, an a tree to hide in.

She was almost getting suspicious of how easy it was to get around this creeping when she was careful, her ears alert and her eyes dilated as she moved, seeking out her targets.

Ten left, ten left.

She shoved another into her pocket, reminding herself to keep moving, keep alert. This roused such a familiar feeling in her gut.

Her overconfidence was showing as a rustling noise alerted her to the fact that something had heard her again, and she went running. Keep running. She had options for hiding now, but don't run into anything, Shehk...
