As some of you know (maybe lol), I'll hopefully be getting full control over my dogs this summer. I'm wanting to take them off the crap food they're eating now, and get them something good. Wellness is my goal, but I think it may to expensive for this poor college student right now lol
I was looking at Purine One Beyond, and it seems like a pretty good food (still trying to figure this whole 'good food' vs 'bad food' thing sorted out, but I think I have the basics down!). I can buy it at the grocery store for a decent price, which is good smile
So yeah, just looking for thoughts on this food smile

mmnnneeehhh
I'll remind myself of the ingredients, but I think Purina's higher end is pro plan.
if you're going to go grocery store, purina is probably one of your best choices.
omg no, not friskies!!! gonk

I thought the Beyond ingredients looked better than the Pro Plan. I'm not looking for food to buy at the grocery store lol That was just a plus XD I was relatively cheap (like $1-ish a pound, if I can), and healthy at the same time =3 *edit* Oh, my bad! I was thinking One, not Pro Plan! >.< I'll look at Pro Plan, though.

lol, sorry, didn't see the "beyond" part. So yea, this one seems more natural than the pro plan.
Chicken, chicken meal, whole oat meal, whole barley, soybean meal, whole brown rice, animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), dried beet pulp, dried egg product, natural flavor, fish oil, caramel color, salt, dried carrots, dried tomatoes, dried apples, calcium phosphate, potassium chloride, choline chloride, zinc sulfate, Vitamin E supplement, ferrous sulfate, manganese sulfate, niacin, calcium carbonate, Vitamin A supplement, calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate, copper sulfate, riboflavin supplement, Vitamin B-12 supplement, garlic oil, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, Vitamin D-3 supplement, calcium iodate, biotin, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), sodium selenite.
So bold are my WTF ingredients. Honestly I've heard mostly good things about beet pulp, some people say it's sugary, other's say no, it's what's left over after sugar removal, so...I dunno lol. Good fiber though. Caramel color though, REALLY? that's retarded, especially as this food is marketed towards people specifically not wanting artificial crap. Added salt, well, depends on the overall salt content, I don't like to see it but sometimes it can make cats drink more.
But yeah, as far as grocery level foods go, it looks pretty good.

I feed the Beyond to my Hairless rats for an extra fat boost. Its the best I can find for a good price *buy the small boxes*. And they seem to love it. I tried others and they dont like it at all. But I might switch to something that is higher in protein but its hard to find a cheap good brand to get them.

Lol, its ok Gabby XD I think its retarded that they have One, and One Beyond, so just to make sure I didn't confuse anyone, I made sure to stress the "Beyond" 3nodding
I'm glad that I've finally found a cheaper alternative to Wellness! =D Hopefully, I can work up to Wellness, but I've been trying to snag any canned Wellness that I can get (when its on sale, or I have a coupon), and they are getting good people food (chicken and fish scraps, mostly, and veggies sometimes) from my moms leftovers from time to time. She eats real healthy, so thats good for the dogs, too =3
