So, I was just curious what are some of your favorite lgbt movies and or tv shows? I recently watched "I can't Think Straight" the other day and thought it was a pretty good movie. I have also in the past watched " I love you phillip morris","Imagine you and me",loving annabelle",D.E.B.S.", "The Truth About Jane", and "Elena Undone". I haven't watched much anime or tv shows really.Except I guess I watched a little of the anime "Strawberry Panic". Anyways, have you any favorites? Have you watched any of the movies I listed and if so what do you think about them? Is there a show or movie you would suggest or you can't get enough of? Tell me ^^.

I only seen a few based on true stories, the movies are good but often sad. Me and my mom watched A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story and I watched Prayers For Bobby.

Well this technically not a manga but June manga (a company that focuses on boy love stories) has a novel series I bought called Cold Sleep, that was pretty interesting. I have the last book of the series called Cold Fever but having a hard time getting the next of the collect Cold light. Also really loved No Touching At All.

I was watching Aoi Hana.

"Searching 4 Sandeep"

As far as manga?

yaoi manga isnt really my thing anymore. i got too tired of seeing invisiable man bits. but there is one that i still love even after all these years, fake. its more about plot than the gayness or sex. the gay part was just a tiny part of the main charachters which i loved because it made it seem a little more realistic. plus both of the men are adults

i havent seen many glbt movies or shows. the only one that comes to my mind is brokeback mountain sweatdrop

LOL I loved Sensitive Pornography. Though I have to agree with Shanna66 and how the invisible man bits get tiring and more into the actual story (the sex as it is often unrealistic). I don't read too many yaoi or yuri as it is hard to find a good one.

I did like Maya's Funeral Procession.

Oh, I love Fake! 3nodding

But other than that, I don't think I've watched or read anything LGBT related... Unless Will & Grace counts, hahaha.

One of my favorite LGBT shows, even though it doesn't deal with the topic every episode, is Cold Case. It's canceled now, but it was directed by the same guy that did CSI. It's a show where a group of cops investigate cold cases dating back from the 1920's till the time it was aired (2003-2007? I believe?). They do a really nice job at keeping a neutral yet slightly positive view of any cases they have that involve homosexuality, however, one episode we watched called "Boy Crazy" (shame I cant remember what season it was from) deals with a supposedly transgendered girl in the 1960's. I say supposedly because they refused to abide to the standards of their sex but never asked to be referred to by the male pronouns (their preference for pronouns was never revealed, so to be on the safe side I'll use the neutral pronoun), however they did ask to go by the male version of their name, Sam, rather than Samantha. It was extremely, extremely, heart wrenching and unfair on their side and it involved a lot of romance and I highly recommend it, but watch it at your own risk, it's EXTREMELY triggering.

Movies:
Well, I absolutely love Better Than Chocolate. Also really enjoy D.E.B.S. (actually own the DVD for this one), Transamerica, But I'm a Cheerleader, Bound, and Saving Face.

Anime:
Maria-sama ga Miteru was my first shoujo-ai anime and probably my favorite. Strawberry Panic was pretty good. Candy Boy and Kannazuki no Miko are not bad either. And of course the classic Sailor Moon.

TV:
Bad Girls. I love it so much. It's got several relationships in it, but Helen/Nikki is the best. Also The L Word. Though I haven't watched it for forever because it got a bit too drama-y for me.
