AND I HAVE PICS. I thought maybe someone might be interested in this. I'll post pics as I get more bones. Right now I only have the jaw bone but it's kind of cool because it's SO old. It has mummified connective tissues.
The story:
25 years ago my moms boyfriend had a dog who had puppies. I don't know the details on how but one of them ended up dead under the house. I'm guessing it crawled under there or something. They couldn't get it out so it got left there.

A few days ago, his now current dog got under the house and drug the whole thing out. The thing has been dead for 25 years. It's prettty much..mummified. Past the point of the flesh that's left being putrid and disgusting. I smelled it and it has little to no smell. It smells kind of like dirt and faint mildew but it's been underneath a house forever and has only seen sunlight for a couple of days.
So, without further adieu, the jaw bone:

That's pretty sweet~
Sorry to hear the dog died, but still, old bones and such are always cool.

Are you planning on cleaning up/bleaching the bones at all?

Honestly I think I'm going to leave it as is. I like the fact that it has old mummified flesh on it. I've never seen that before and probably wouldn't have the chance to normally.

I'm still waiting for the skull.
Yes I admit it is a little gross but I also think, how often do you get the chance to get a bone that still has soft tissues intact and not putrid and disgusting?
