Another day, another haunted house shift. She'd already fought that weird dog thing. There wasn't much more that could surprise her. Not, that anything would surprise her anyways- those emotions had long since left the building. You'd get a jump out of her, and then back to the same neutral expression.

< I hope we find more things to hit. I'm hungry ... >

God you're weird.

Silence. The hallway seemed to extend forever. She thought she took the same one as last time- it was a left turn, and then a right, and yet here she was standing it what seemed like a dining room? This was entirely different from where she'd wandered around before.

< Scared? > Junpei teased.

Shut up. Too tired to argue.

Mort had once told Gene about his escapades in the Haunted House, fighting Hunters and what not. Gene had never wanted to actually find her way into the feared place and face off with one of the Hunters, but fate had a funny way of working things.

She had been looking for a place to just relax outside of her dorm - Gideon's babies were irking when their father wasn't around - and thought a nice empty classroom would provide for her need. Instead, she found herself in a very different place.

With a strawberry blonde human in front of her, all dressed up in a disgusting white coat.

Her arms became furry and muscled on reflex, and her eyes narrowed. She cleared her throat, and stood her ground. Come get some.

Ami didn't say anything. The girl was a silky shade of blueish white, and she was floating. Not to mention her arms were some sort of ... animal? Honestly Ami didn't care.

She rushed forward and jabbed with her glaive. No rampant battle cries, no declarations of victory. Just fighting, because at the moment that's all her brain could handle.

Gene took the blow and snorted in an feral way, dissipating and reappearing behind the human woman, aiming a punch at the back of the head.

Stupid Hunters.

Ami wasn't fast enough to dodge the ghost girl's punch, but she was at least fast enough to move so that it hit her upper back instead of her head. She'd learned early on to always protect her head- it was a human's weak spot after all.

"Girly I really don't have time for this," she said irritably, swiveling around to bat the ghost in the side. A sharp inhale from Junpei and Ami slammed the glaive into her side like a baseball bat.

Taking the whap from the glaive full on, Gene was not at all amused by this lady. Well I'm not supposed to be here anyway. Let's get it over with already." She sank through the floor with a glare, and pushed her FEAR into the mind of the Hunter, plunging into and examining memories for something with shock value. A man, who had rather good taste in fashion, was what caught the Doppelganger's radar.

The ghoul came out in front of the Huntress, as the tall and skinny man from her memories. A shock of black hair covered in a red beanie, a white v-neck shirt with a navy jacket, blue skinny denims, and a pair of high topped sneakers. Gene blew a kiss at the Huntress, and prepped for a physical assault.

Deshifting from the man and back into her natural state, before shifting her hands into big, meaty dragon claws. She began to make a beeline at the woman, phasing to gain momentum. Before she made it to the offender, however, she slipped and tumbled under her, swearing at her mistakes as she pushed herself onto her feet.

One day, she'd master that combo.

"A-Adam?" Ami croaked out, taking a hesitant step backwards. She'd just watched the ghost turn into him, and the logical part was telling her "it's not him" but .... it was so lifelike. For a moment, her eyes flung open wide. Had he figured out that she'd confessed to Wilson? Would he call her a tramp?

Ami grimaced. He was the one who cheated on her. Not the other way around.

The ghost girl was already on her way over to Ami. It was lucky that Ami had Junpei screaming in her ears, otherwise she would not have backed away as quickly as she did. She made it just out of ranger when the girl tripped and smacked herself onto the ground.

Ami took no time taking her advantage and running towards the girl on the ground, glaive extended. If Gene looked closely, she might even see a tear in the hunter's eyes.

There was no mercy left to give.

Gene, fortunately, was able to phase out of the way of the blow for the most part, save for a rib; the same one this dagum Huntress had hit once already. Glowering in pain, she aimed a weak punch at the Huntress.

And because this is a battle, why not throw in some banter. "Crying, really? Aren't you supposed to be emotionless monsters? Isn't that how they train you at your little boot camp?" All satire and no remorse; the way Rage had been with her when she was training. Hopefully it would wig her out.

Great, even a ghost could see how weak she was and play at those weaknesses. She was pathetic, that's what she was.

Ami was going to stab downwards through the girl's throat, but at the last second she choked up and missed, stabbing inches away from her pretty blueish hair. The glaive stabbed into the wooden floorboards, leaving a nice splintered hole in the ground next to Gene.

< Were you sparing her, or .... >

"You have no right to that form," was all she warned as she removed the glaive from the ground, the floorboards squealing under the stress. Her hand reached up to rub her ear calmly. Don't cry. Don't even think about crying.

The dull expression came back.

Rights? What was a Hunter to talk about rights? They invaded Halloween, they took students away, they made Halloween students into weapons through a convoluted, twisted process that they should be put to death for. And this whore wanted to talk about rights?

They were the right takers.

Gene's pretty hair and face was quickly replaced by a sinister and wicked horned iron helm, which would soon meet Ami's face.

"Don't you talk to me about rights, murderer."

Murderer. Chalk that up to the list of sins she'd committed. She shrugged the insult off though, as she'd done a long time ago when she'd killed people on that god-forsaken island.

One more ghost wouldn't make a difference.

"Just die already," she said heartlessly as she swung Junpei around, attempting to trip the ghost where she stood.

A minor cut to the ankle, which would sting like a p***k at work. Nothing too harsh though; just keep a level head.

"Why, so you can turn me into a weapon for another Reaper wannabe? No, thanks, I'll pass." She swung wildly at the Hutntress, a little fatigued from taking constant hits and her last shift.

Ami didn't have time for this s**t- or anything for that matter. She'd already gained a few bruises from the ghost's powered up punches, and she didn't want to stick around and see the girl transform into another nightmare for her.

It stung, it really did seeing Adam- even worse knowing that she'd actually be FOOLED because of that.

"It would be an eye for an eye," Ami said bitterly as she thought about how the shadows ruined her life. Ami fought for revenge.

In a fit of anger she tripped the ghost, and then slammed her glaive into the ghost's back, slamming her onto the floor. Externally, the same unbroken emotion, internally she was preening. That combo? That combo was sweet.
