((This is a GM-approved RP for a player plot!))

The door opened to a dark, silent room. The walls were made of stone, the ceiling appeared to be hastily laid planks of wood to act as a temporary ceiling that had never been fixed. It was large enough to fit at least a hundred large people and had it been in better condition it probably actually could. As it was, however, that would not be happening anytime soon. The planks of the 'temporary' ceiling were old, rotten and falling apart; dim sunlight like a foggy day filtered into the room through the cracks, holes and spaces between the planks that threatened to give out with even the slightest touch. It allowed the students to see what was around them...and filled the room with shadows where the light could not reach. Where the original ceiling had collapsed laid the rubble, rubble surrounded by skeletons and other questionable debris. There were even old vines and tree roots breaking through the stone walls and creeping through the room. If the investigating students weren't careful they could startle themselves simply by stepping on and crushing a brittle skull or bone beneath their feet, making a sound that would echo off the barren walls and stone, or perhaps they would trip over a root.

To one side of the room sat the remains of three thrones made of stone. They looked as if they had been attacked, large claw marks decorating them here and there. Axe marks. Pieces missing. The room was in utter shambles. It gave the beautiful illusion that something had happened here. A war of some kind.

It would appear the Haunted House had a delightful sense of humor.

The only sounds that would fill the room would come from the students...until they heard a song suddenly come to life in Mitsu's pocket.

One new text message!

To: Mitsu
From: Sender Unknown

Mitsu? Mitsu! Where are you!? I thought you said you were coming for me!

The door slammed shut. Any attempts to open it would end in disappointing failure.

OOC
And so it begins!

This Haunted House battle will be working slightly differently from the typical Haunted House PVP.
- This battle is a 4vs4 battle! Four Students, four Hunters! There is also no need to roll for initiative!
- There will be 12 hour rounds. Meaning every 12 hours Inu-Mitsu or Eight will be posting a progression post to keep things moving along!
- When the battle begins, you get two attacks per round! However, no one's HP may go under 0! Once a player hits 0hp they may no longer roll nor can they be attacked! No dissipation, no killing. You can still post, just no dice rolling.
- Hunters: Once Mitsu's HP reaches 10 or below please target someone else!
- Please quote your target!

Mitsu had tried not to go into all out panic as her SEEDS group gathered and headed toward the haunted house. She knew it would do no good to freak out, they needed to keep a clear head encase there were more Hunters on Derykion’s trail. Would there be just one or was it possible there were more? It was hard to say with the Haunted House, it worked in such an odd unorganized way. It was possible there were none at all now, that they had left him to check out other things. At least Mitsu could be so hopeful.

"I hope Derykion is okay," Mitsu muttered. They were just entering the corridor in the school and she knew she needed to focus. Before they went any further Mitsu drew out her phone and began a text. True to her word she was going to keep Lizzy as updated as possible writing a quick text to let her know what was going on.

Dragain
Text to Lizzy
Entering the HH now. We’ll try 2 make a sweep and b back within an hour if we don’t find anything. I’ll keep you posted!

Once that was taken care of she slipped the phone back in her pocket waiting for Shun to take the lead, concentrating on where they wanted to go. As she started forward she noted how the walls began to shift and distort and suddenly it looked as though they were made of stone the ceiling above them threatening to collapse if so much as a heavy wind picked up. The room itself was littered in rubble like the previous roof had collapsed whether by a terrible storm or other circumstances. It made it impossible to see everything at once, countless nooks and crannies scattered everywhere. Where were they in the house compared to Derykion? Were they close at all or would they have to explore to find him.

"Derykion?" It was worth it to call out and see if he was nearby, though she did so quietly. Maybe they would luck out and he would be in the room they had just entered? As she continued to move forward she heard the chime of her phone letting her know she got a text. Thinking it was from Lizzy she tapped the screen to bring up the message only to find a distressed message from Derykion instead.

"Huff puff…I think he’s panicking." And his panicking was making her panic as she hastily typed out a reply. Her hands were shaking so bad that it was making the process difficult.

Text to Derykion
We R Here. We will b ther soon!

Pocketing her phone once more Mitsu looked to the others in her party. Her eyes were full of worry for her friend trapped inside. At least he was still okay for the time being. The text was enough to let her know. "We should probably hurry."

It seemed as the last person entered the door they had suddenly gone through creaked and slammed closed almost ominously. Mitsu turned back to look at it with wide eyes feeling a sinking feeling in her stomach.

While they were moving through the Haunted House, Shun kept his daggers at hand. The incident below the school had him a little more wary as it seemed the Hunters were on the move again. Even so, he couldn't let Mitsu go in this alone and he was being as alert as possible. Even if this wasn't anything suspicious, the haunted house had a tendency to attract hunters regardless.

"I still don't like this. At all," he muttered under his breath. Yes, he was still skeptical about this situation. He didn't know who this 'Derykion' was. If he did, he probably wouldn't have been so damn wary. But that wasn't the case. This little mission was just giving him all sorts of bad vibes but he still hoped that he was just being overly cautious rather than something actually being up.

"Stay alert and keep quiet," he quietly instructed to the other three, "If you spot anything out of the ordinary, speak up."

Tightening his grip onto his daggers, he peered through the darkness for signs of life. He was also listening for anything that might be footsteps aside from their own.

Mot knew this would go downhill. After what happened below the school, he just knew it reeked of trap. As Mitsu fussed over her text message, Mot grit his teeth. She was being played. He'd never heard of this guy. He wasn't a student.

And then his fears were worsened.

The house had them trapped. Mot tried the doors. Once. Twice. Nothing.

Mot let in a shaky breath, looking more angry than scared.

He summoned his shot gun right away.

Hel was impatient to go. Sure, they had been warned way more than once to be suspicious of new individuals because it could be a trick…but at the same time…they couldn’t be so suspicious of others that it would risk the existence of a real Halloweener. It was a fine line to walk, and it required a lot of chance and risk.

The reaper followed up her group at the end, her brows furrowed as they traversed through the halls and soon found themselves within the Haunted House. Before she could survery the room the house dumped them in, though, the door closed behind them. Hel watched as Mot tried the door only for it to be locked.

Well damn.” Hel whistled, and immediately summoned her spear as well. She swept her gaze around the room now, taking in its appearance. If they weren’t here for the wrong reasons, she could have enjoyed this room. “Never been in a room within the House like this before…” She muttered, eyeing the corners of the room. “…But if we are trapped here…how are we supposed to reach Mitsu’s friend, huh?"

Mot had went to go seek an exit to no avail. Frowning, Shun crouched down to get into his usual battle stance, looking around carefully.

"The door unlocks with the task is finished," he stated, going off of past experiences within the Haunted House, "Given how we came in with the intentions of finding our quarry... I'm sure the so called friend will show up soon enough."

In a way, that was a way of telling the others to get ready. Also given his wording, it wasn't hard to see the level of doubt he had about this whole thing. A part of him was wondering why he allowed Mitsu to pursue this in the first place. Well, it was far too late now.

"Stay together. Keep your eyes sharp. Weapons ready. Look for any areas in the room where we might be able to have a tactical advantage."

Yeah. He was expecting a fight alright. Even in normal circumstances, it never took long for a hunter to show up after entering the Haunted house. There was always one right around the corner, it felt.

Mot nodded. Shun's advice was good. He walked toward the other reaper, murmuring to him quietly. "I'll look for higher ground. I fight better from afar." It wasn't an if they get attacked, it was when. There was no doubt.

Mot walked cautiously around the perimeter, looking for a high place to keep his eye out for intruders.

The room was mostly level, with a small step in the flooring that lifted the three thrones so they were not on the same level as the rest of the room. The highest place one could climb was the large pile of rubble; bones and stone that had fallen from the ceiling above.

It looks very unstable, like trying to climb up it would be more trouble than it was worth.

The room is still silent except for the sounds made by the investigating students.

Bingo.

Mot tucked the gun under his arm and cautiously climbed the rubble. He only went up as far as he could before a stone tumbled from beneath his foot. Deciding that was a sign, he stopped halfway up.

Once again he held up his rifle with both hands, sitting himself down. Mot looked out at the room from up high, watching every dark corner with a scrutinizing stare.

Hel frowned. “Ugh…I hate being at the whims of this stupid House…” This House had seriously ******** her with its whims. ******** her and Shun.

The ghoul watched as Mot went off to go take a vantage point above, making note of where the grim was incase she needed to go cover him, and then cast her gaze down the length of the room again. Bah…was the purpose to rescue Mitsu’s friend…? If it wasn’t…what were they supposed to do? When they last came here, they had to solve puzzles of some sort to advance…

Hel looked back at Shun and Mitsu. “You two stay there…I am going to go look around.” She didn’t wait to hear Shun’s warning or hiss of disapproval as she went off, her spear out in front of her cautiously. The reaper was drawn towards the thrones, seeing if they’d tell a story of any sort, or reveal anything about this room.

"Hel." Shun immediately hissed out at the Valkyrie. But she had already started to wander off.

"Kusooo..." he cursed lowly while keeping low to the ground. They shouldn't be splitting up dammit! With a sort of huff, he looked around, trying to watch the shadows of the area. He wondered if he too should take to them. He had been training in stealth after all, but doing so would leave Mitsu in the open.

The Reaper wasn't about to let her become bait.

As Hel approached the thrones there came the sound of bones being crushed somewhere to her...left? Or was it in front of her? The room echoed too much to tell exactly for sure.

A rock? Perhaps. Mot had climbed up onto the rubble, after all. It was probably that.

There were no other sounds. A shadow moved..? Or was that Mot? Perhaps it was Shun. Or even Hel herself. The light shining through the wood panels of the ceiling was less helpful to the eye than it could have been.

The reaper paused as she heard the sound of the bones crunching, and what sounded like a stone falling. Her head whipped quickly around, trying to pinpoint the source of the sound, but with the echoes it was near impossible. The shadows were deceiving as well.

She looked back up at the ceiling, and mused that if she still had her wings, she could have tried pushing some of those wood panels…Oh well. Hel pushed forward, moving the rest of the way down until she climbed the steps to the three thrones, looking them over. She idly tapped the middle one with her spear, briefly entertaining the notion of secret passages.

Shun could have sworn he saw some movement, but it was hard to tell what. Looking up at the wood panels in the ceiling that allowed light to filter through, he thought for a moment or so. Gripping onto his daggers, he looked to where both Mot and Hel were standing, then closed his eye. With as dim as it was in here, his vision wasn't as helpful as it could be. And so he was directing his focus to his hearing. He was listening for any noises that didn't seem to come from where the other two Reapers stood, and he might have been ready to hurl a dagger should that be the case.

If the so called Derykion really did exist and needed help, well perhaps a dagger to the chest could help him return home in a different manner.

The Reaper didn't give too much of a damn right now.
